The coupe was sold in Australia. Only 120 were assembled in Melbourne and sold through Victorian Datsun dealers. The kits were destined for South Africa but sent to Australia by mistake, so Nissan Australia assembled them and sold them here.
Nissan motorsport spec engines of that era were piggy to drive gently. I had the opportunity to drive a 1600 with essentially a Fury Bluebird spec engine in it to the local tyre shop for alignment, and struggled until I gave it the beans.

I raced against that car in Bill Emenys hands through the 90s. IN SA and Vic. It was turbo then. Also raced against Barry in th Gazelle.
