@@handpowers Sorry, I don't have a step-by-step video. It's very easy, use the Acronis app for cloning and some adapter to connect your disk to the laptop. You just need to choose source and destination drive, on the auto mode, it will do an exact copy of your old disk. ua-cam.com/video/ZXYBtu_SGs4/v-deo.html I believe it's easier to clone disks at first, and then swap them. Don't remember exactly, but looks like you don't need to create a bootable USB if you install Acronis to your system.
Mine came with 8gb installed, I had 1Tb hard drive. Did the SSD install make a big difference in general use or just quicker boot up time? Just wondering is there any option to upgrade the graphics on this or fit a separate graphics board? I guess it's just onboard graphics? Also need to clean the fan out on mine, not feeling much air output from the vents on the side! Laptop doesn't feel too hot though!
If right now in your laptop is spinning HDD then you will feel the difference from SSD. It's not just windows booting time it's increasing all programs load speed. The system will feel much snappier. At first, try to reset bios to default. Then check Lenovo www for an app (I think it calls "ThinkVantage") that checks for the newest bios for it. Those that you can download directly not always are latest ones. Aswell check your RAM for errors with "memtest86" It might be RAM incompatibility (change yours to a different brand).

Hi, what kind of clone software best fit this model and how to do it?
For cloning i use acronis software, it often comes with ssd for free.
I do believe you can download it and use for free for 30 days if it didn't come with disk.
Then you need external hard disk enclozure to connect both drives to laptop.

@@MindaugasJocionis thanks men. Do you have a video on how to clone from hdd to ssd?
@@handpowers Sorry, I don't have a step-by-step video.
It's very easy, use the Acronis app for cloning and some adapter to connect your disk to the laptop. You just need to choose source and destination drive, on the auto mode, it will do an exact copy of your old disk.
ua-cam.com/video/ZXYBtu_SGs4/v-deo.html
I believe it's easier to clone disks at first, and then swap them.
Don't remember exactly, but looks like you don't need to create a bootable USB if you install Acronis to your system.
@@handpowers Did you sort out the battery problem?
No bro until now. But I just bought an ssd and I will upgrade my laptop.
You cannot upgrade GPU as it's integrated into CPU, and CPU is soldered on motherboard :(

You can upgrade in one slot up to 8GB (there is only one slot for the RAM module), plus in some models, there is soldered RAM on the motherboard. So in total 8GB + soldered (if there is any in your model) If you considering buying RAM check on affiliate links in the video description and subscribe :) thx
@@MindaugasJocionis There are 2 slots in me and it seems that there is 4 GB of RAM in the 2nd slot. It looks empty in the 1st slot, but when we open it, there is a place for 1 slot.

yes i have problem with my lenove keyboard multiple letters will come out
check maybe plastic pins on key retainer fell off their places, or maybe they are broken, or key pins are broken. You can order keys, and retainers separately, or replace whole keyboard and leave old one for spare parts :)
I have the i5 version and it runs games at 4fps
it wasn't gaming laptop at release, gpu is too weak for gaming, so...

That means your notebook doesn't have dedicated gpu haha

hello just asking if this ram is compatible
• Product model: DDR3L 8GB 1600MHz / PC3L-12800S
8GB
• Application: Laptop / Notebook
• Memory Type: DDR3
• Memory Capacity: 8GB
MainFrequency: 1600MHz
• Voltage: 1.35V
• Number of Pins: 204Pins
Function: NON-ECC
Thank you in advance!
@@arlynbalondo4004 Yes, it is compatible. Don't forget to subscribe, thanks :)
Is the ram upgrade worth it? Because I want to upgrade it but don't know if is there a bigger performance difference...
I suggesting you upgrade RAM and SSD. SSD in the first place. Check the task manager what amount of RAM you use in a normal usage scenario. If you exceed 4GB, then you will get a performance increase.
When RAM is depleted OS will use HDD for the swap file, if you use SSD laptop will work much faster as the swap file on SSD has faster access time.
1. upgrade to SSD
2. upgrade to 8GB of RAM
Or both at the same time.
Check affiliate links in the video description and don't forget to subscribe, thank you.
is it compatible with this?

can i use 8 GB 1600mhz ram for this laptop
Yes, it should be the DDR3L version, check the affiliate links in the video description, and don't forget to subscribe. Thanks.
@@MindaugasJocionis yes it is dd3 can I use that ram
@@ashenpiumal2047 It must be with the letter L. Not DDR3 but DDR3L L=low voltage 1.35V
Can we put another prrocessor
Unfortunately cpu is soldered to motherboard :/
@Aleksander hey, not everyone know, that these days almost everything is soldered :) sub. thx. :)
How come my systeme manager tells me there is 2 ram Slots?
Sys manager shows how many RAM slots are supported by the chipset. They may not be physically present on the motherboard.
On some models, there are soldered RAM chips to the motherboard under the RAM slot.

Isn't anybody having issues with this ideeapad 100 mic? needs cleanse too?
What's the problem? Maybe the mic hole is clogged? Or is it not reacting at all? Or maybe your laptop does not have one? As the manual says: (Built-in microphone × 1 on select models).
@@MindaugasJocionis

And i have one more question, does cleaning the fan with brush have a risk breaking it?
Sorry if my grammar a bit mess
@@stephen4017 Thx. Yes you can safely clean with brush, just don't use force, or buy compressed air duster can.
@@MindaugasJocionis nice, i even saw some tutorial that clean it by opening the whole fan components 😂 but he didn't show wheter it works or not after cleaning
@@stephen4017 it depends on fan design (sometimes there is no screws, just melted points), you can remove screws and clean more carefully, everything will work fine after reassembly. It is more important to clean radiator than fan, fan is usually pretty clean all the dust chunks accumulates on radiator blades.
Sir where can i get the top and bottom casing of this pc.i cant seem to find it on the net

why not 2x4gb?
dual channel improve perfomance

Unfortunately, there is just one RAM slot on this laptop. Subscribe, thank you :)
@@MindaugasJocionis Actually there are 2 slots... one is actually for soldered RAM. BUT this computer CAN handle 16GB, even though there is only one slot available. So adding a 16GB RAM will total 18 GB if 2 GB soldered on board BUT CPU can only access 16GB. Still better than adding 8GB for total of 10 GB.
can you play Dota 2 on it now?
Didn't check, but if your fps in Dota 2 were low before it will not be playable after upgrade too. This upgrade does not affect gaming performance just game loading time. Subscribe, thank you.
