Carrick is a small historic village 17 kilometres west of Launceston, Tasmania, Australia, on the banks of the Liffey River. The Meander Valley Highway passes through the town's centre; this road was formerly the main road from Launceston to Deloraine.
Carrick has a well-preserved 19th-century heritage; fifteen of its colonial buildings are listed on the Tasmanian Heritage Register including Carrick House (1840), St Andrew's Church (1848), the Old Watchhouse (1837), Monds Roller Mill (1846) and the Carrick Hotel (1833).
This easy walk takes you past 20 of Carrick’s historic buildings and is suitable for people of all abilities.
It covers a flat even surface with no steps or steep sections and is suitable for wheelchair users who have someone to assist them.

The architecture in that area is so pretty. Can never get tired of these heritage walks. I wonder in the future they will be like this was built in 2000. Blacksmith’s are always so intriguing for me. The adlibs and Peter going off script is one of my favorite part of your videos. The brick buildings are so pretty. Thanks for taking us along.

Adds so much character to a place when the original buildings still stand. Even the houses that have had amendments made to them still have a real charm. I like that you can still just make out the wording on the side of the Mill. Wonderful heritage tour ❤

We enjoyed hearing the history of this village. The story of Archer's Folly was particularly interesting - though also sad. But it is kind of interesting to see the building there in ruins. Carrick looks lovely with lots of interesting buildings. Thanks for taking us along!

We love the tours, you have a very high percentage of preserved buildings, here so many were torn down during the 60's and 70's to make way for new buildings, such a shame 😮 Thanks for the tour, loved the history and buildings 😊 We hope you both have a wonderful rest of your week 😊

The late 1800s is a favorite time of mine so a joy to visit Carrick. The Roller Mill is impressive. Looks like the Inn will be around going on with the maintenance. Great architecture in Tasmania. Cheers and like

I find it so fascinating that there these little towns in Tassie where there are buildings still standing and still in use that are almost 200 years old.

Another very pleasant and quaint town in Tassie Jojo, some very old heritage homes and buildings there dating back to around the time when Adelaide was settled also, they look nice and tidy too hope it stays that way, thanks for the tour, cheers, Steve :)

Another interesting walk through a charming small town. We are seeing so much more of Tasmania & Victoria and finding the experience so enjoyable. We had planned to explore more after we retired but covid slowed things down. Hopefully we will yet make it back to enjoy more explorations ourselves. In the meantime keep showing more possibilities. Ivy Cottage was built well before 1883. Its brickwork is of the old "colonial bond" type that wasn't used after 1850, if I recall correctly. The second cottage, situated behind the first, and joined to it by a modern connection is of a later weatherboard construction. It used to be a private school run by a Mrs Edwards, I believe. I have heard 3 dates for Ivy Cottage given for its construction, the earliest being 1836 and the latest being around 1860. It is difficult to pin it down given that two structures are involved. The residence, Ivy Cottage, definitely predates the schoolhouse, however.

Good old Carrick. The pub there had amazing meals when I visited last time. I used to film at the speedway there for youtube. Good memories
Edit: I slept in the car over night behind the public hall. There was a 2 night event at the speedway and I thought the car would do (CR-V). It didn't do lol
The Carrick Pub seemed to be going under some renovations Daz at the time we were there. Hopefully meals are still good. The day we were there it was quite a cold one.
