Can we talk about that camera trick for a moment?! Thanks so much for making the greatest coffee sequence to ever exist!! 🔥🙏🏻
Peter McKinnon Great job !!! 😁🤘
Ídolos
🔥🔥
I just love living when I know there are clever people in this world...
Yes talk about the camera trick!!!
Daniel: “That little coffee sequence”
Peter: “The greatest coffee sequence to ever exist”
Ky уeah exactly 🤣🤘
Daniel is an amazing videographer, but obviously humble about it. I hope that some of Peter's moxi rubs off on Daniel..... ;-)
lol
I actually think it is the greatest coffee sequence to ever exist. Peter made some great sequences, but he films them mostly alone and now when these 2 guys got together, magic happened.
There are 2 kinds of people...
Both you and Peter make the most epic and gorgeous B roll I've ever seen, you two are an inspiration to us all!!
This was a blast to watch how you all got these shots. You are inspiring a multi-generation of film makers- you and Peter MK! Thank you for taking the time do share this with the world.
I’m not new here and I friggen loved this collab. Proud of you homie!
You all are so Amazing. Love your videos TOO Chris Hau !!! hehe
I'm learning tons off your channel too! Just watched the 'lazy' vs 'pro' b-roll video. Very inspiring. Also, made me wish I was in sunny Vegas instead of "always winter in Narnia" Alberta, Canada. ;)
Legends Collaborate and Another Legend Commented
I loved it too ! Big Channel Inspiration:)
Team Canada 🇨🇦
Watched Peter's video and man was it awesome to see you together in the same videos.
Geniuses creating epic stuff!
You should do a collab with both and It'll be the most epic BRoll of all time
I fully agree. Pete L. Can we make a counter B Roll Attack ?? 😁
When's the PDP (Peter Daniel Peter) collab?
They need to add you peter would have been more epic
Daniel, Peter, and Parker, are magically amazing! Inspiring! I’m fairly new to all this and although it sounds like a lot of work is involved it only makes me want to do this kind of work even more. Thank you for showing all of us your wonderful work and talent. Thank you thank you thank you 🙏
Have subscribed to you both for almost two years now. I find a lot of value in both channels. I love the BTS stuff you do Daniel. Keep at it, you have such a great talent.
I still remember the video with Peter's Flag on your backdrop and how he inspired you to create your channel. So proud of you man and cheers to your collab.
Now that he revealed the secret behind Pete's opening sequence, I can die in piece. RIP me. Amen
Somebody is holding the the cam on a stick and hes not holding the camera actualy. So the person thats operating the camera turns with peter and stays in 180 degree opposite of peter so it looks like the space is "empty" ....
@@kingmuhu Yeah its very simple. Move the opposite way to the camera then run out of the room lol
Pete did that once back in the days too :D
Daniel Schiffer + Peter McKinnon = 🔥
I never get tired of watching your videos and am so happy that you and Peter worked together! He is one of the main reasons I got into Photography and I have learned so much from him over the years.
I’m so Happy for everyone right now.
It’s like a win-win-win-win situation! I think the whole UA-cam family is Happy for this collab!
And especially for you Mr Voice (Daniel)!
I thought it was so awesome and humble when you were nervous sitting next to him since he has been such an inspiration for you.
Sitting next to Peter McKinnon.
That's life goals right there.
P.s great work as usual.
Daniel, you probably have heard this before but maaan, you are such a talented dude, you really inspire me to see things so diferently. This b roll is just amazing!! I also saw the behind the scenes and your collab with Peter, congratulations, i love how humble you were by telling Peter he was an inspiration for you.
Daniel you are undoubtedly one of the best videographers to shoot near perfect b-roll. It's a pleasure to watch every time, I always learn something new. Thank you
Me watching Pete’s vid: “Damn, I wish Daniel would do a breakdown of the coffee seq-“ OMG YESSS 🙏🏼 Always loved your style, thanks for this video Daniel!
Man, I feel really happy for you! Seeing how you were talking and filming with the person who inspired you to make UA-cam videos is just amazing! You are so talented and you have worked so much to be were you are now.
That last bit is everything! This is the truth of vlogging, kids. This is how it looks like. It is not glorious, doesn't look pro but darn is it fun.
This sets the benchmark on Coffee B Roll videos. Daniel you're the absolute king of this. I just did my first B Roll Coffee video and it's a FAR way from this, but it's super fun to do and with your videos I am learning so much! Hope you're well. Much love!
So pumped that you finally got a collab in with Pete. I've been subbed to you for probably close to two years and have always wondered, "hey, when are the 2 Toronto film gods going to get together?". Next stop.... Chris Ramsay?
chris ramsey doing tricks while Dan is filming it would be amazing
Yes this ☝️ Pretty sure Chris would be stoked to have the opportunity 👌
YO me too! This story makes me goosebumps, amazing.
13:06 hahah! I love how Peter does the "manual" sound for the transition.. these 2 are epic duo
Sitting here and watching you and Peter McKinnon makes me totally inspired. Thank you guys. I'm inspired to push the boundaries of what I am capable of, but will it ever be enough!! :-)
I love how the audio on your videos is mastered so high.
Makes it very easy and convenient to hear and understand each and every word.
A lot of good UA-camrs are overlooking this.
B roll is important, but content is King. Superb technical info BTW.
In 3 years I would like to see a colab with Daniel, Peter and the one who is now inspired watching this video, which leads to a successful UA-cam channel.
Creative Dreamers NL I have 3 years, I better get started! 💪
Hell yeah! I got to start filming for now only have some photos over instagram @fotografiasdogunter
Best get filming!✌🏼
So I got 3 years to make my cinematic cooking channel. Pressure On!
I just started my channel this year 🤞 hopefully it’l go somewhere
Daniel, thank you for this incredible tutorial!! Your camera movements are without a doubt, incredible and unique.
I've been watching your videos for about two and a half years now and your videos are informative and thorough.
I remember when you had about 30k subscribers and you would talk about how Peter McKinnon has been a huge inspiration for you!
You've really come into your own and made your own unique style. Keep up the AMAZING work!!!
You're inspiring thousands.
I just found your work few days ago I start watching your videos and it's amazing what you can do with the camera. It's just incredible what would you able to do from a cocktail making video meanwhile the person would throw bottles or any equipment around. Would be on another level than anyone did so far. Your videos are awesome
I've been following you for awhile, man. After watching all of your tutorials, I finally made my own channel. Excited to watch this one!!
The best, i learn a lot!
Absolutely stunning work, two great minds in the same vid 😍
wow I remember when Daniel started how he used to talk about how wanting to work for Peter one day like during Peter's contest. This is so refreshing to see! Dreams do come true people!
Dude, this honestly just blew my mind! Really cool sequence of transitions! Plus been an avid follower of both you and Peter so this was very awesome!
I am new here, this is my second video, but I am looking forward to learning from you. I am looking to apply these cinematic aspects to my guitar and ukulele tutorials to make them both educational more cinematic as well. If you (or Peter) ever needs some original royalty free Ukulele music for your videos, let me know! I am happy to do it.
Was glad to see you over there... I enjoy your channel, man. Thanks for sharing.
Daniel, your videos are great help for people like me who does not know anything about filming, I just started my channel and trying to learn from your videos. You will see a lot of change in my upcoming videos from filming perspective .
Love the cage transition! Great video and collaboration with Peter! You guys are both masters of the craft! Thanks for posting this video, I learned so much!
Okay, when the coffee beans hit the table, so did my jaw. Wow.
Yo daniel, I told you 2 yrs ago how much similar u two are, and that you'll partner with him. You did it!!! I got proof bro!
Congrats!!!!
where is the proof?
Yeah where's the proof 😂😂😂😂
we still need the proof..
Where’s that proof bro?
still waiting for the proof
This is AWESOME. Thanks so much for sharing. Appreciate all your work from the other corner of America: Argentina. You two are at the top of my UA-camrs list!
Good for you Daniel, you deserve it. Nice to see the humbleness when you meet a role model even though to many of us, you as much a youtube star as Peter is.
Ouuhhh that's a huge creative combo! 😍😂
"Hey, what's up, nice to see you." :-p
That was amazing, well done. And a very insightful breakdown of transition techniques, thanks so much!
Dude just want to thank you for all the work you put on you’re grind. You’re a real inspiration, and every time I look you’re videos makes me want to practice the skills you try to spread out. Thank you thank you thank you
I think it’s so awesome you give an editing breakdown! I learn a lot from you and cannot wait to begin with my own b-roll video’s 🤩 exciting!
Damn i feels like yesterday when i found your channel after already knowing Peter. I knew this would one day be coming!
Hope this helps you push through 1M, man! You deserve it!
he sure does
Can't wait to binge watch all your vids this week. Here from Pete's channel. I'm excited to absorb all the info I can n your coffee b roll was BANANAS!!!
This is actually epic! You are such a perfectionist which is why you are such a great film maker! What a pairing! Keep up the amazing work Daniel.
His opening line when he said “that’s like DANIEL SCHIFFER b roll” I felt like I won, like I just seen captain America say “avengers assemble” .. you did it Daniel! Congratulations!
Avangers ... sip ... assemble ... haha....
“I believe that’s a chemex” come on maaaan! That’s a good ole Kalita Wave! You’re a proper film genius!
I thought the sammeee thing
Daniel: “I believe that’s a chemex” me: "no , kid, it's not."
Whats a Kalita wave? I love coffee and I have never heard of such machine 😅😫
Super Manny it’s a pour over brewing method, similar to a V60 or the confusion inducing chemex, it tends to produce a sweet cup with a tad richer mouthfeel compared to the aforementioned and it looks great too!
@@SuperMannyphoto Hey bro! It's basically a Hario V-60, just a different brand name and brewing recipes.
Awesome video Daniel !!!! 😍😍 Congrats for this work with Peter !!!! ✌️✌️
You 2 guys are our Idols!!! too much to learn from you! Great video.
when i do that kind of coffee making in my kitchen
mom : what are you doing
me: making coffee like pete
mom : get out (throws slipper )
Lucky that I decided to see this even though I had seen it on Pete's channel. Guys watch both. It is about 2 people talking about the same video in their own ways. lot of info when u watch both
My two favourite UA-camrs in one video! Love it guys. Hope you two collab more in the future!
Just watched both your video as well as Peter's and man was that DOPE! You both are such an inspiration! Keep up the sick content !!!!
epic as usual, came after seeing peters video
Hey Daniel, ¡PM sent me here!
New suscriber, your content is everything I was searching for, your Coffee B-Roll with Peter was so awesome...
Greetings from
《🇳🇮 Nicaragua 🇳🇮》
Yep same here I watched Peter's video and thought darn I would love to see how that was made, what went into the editing process etc. Then this video came up this morning and I was on it and subscribed I will be binge watching all the previous tutorials over the next few weeks.
So glad you made this video could have been an hour long tutorial and I would have watched all of it. Simply stunning!
Oh man 😍 that camera flying off trick was something I kept pondering over after watching Peter's video. Glad to see it at the end here. ❤️
Man Daniel you and Peter are such amazingly talented human being, also super super inspirational!!
Amazing!
And now Peter McKinnon will never do a coffee video again. You set the bar high. Great collaboration!
I got to know your work through Peters video. It is amazing! Congrats! Keep up the great job! 😍
that is just beautiful, so beautiful, I can watch it all day. Thanks for making such a wonderful coffee video with P.
"Wondering how Peter did that with the camera" - Mind blows at the end 🤯
Bro, when I saw that B roll in PM channel, I thought "it's pretty close to Daniel's style" and even the music choice also. I knew it from the very beginning.
Thought the same thing!
@@dltnio obviously😃
The two of you together is a legend sequence. I hope to be as seamless as you both! Great video guys!!!
Two of my faves! So happy to see you two collab.
"Hi, what's up? Nice to be here!"
When it comes to sound ... I always do the sound effects first ... and only once you can watch the whole video without missing the music ... I add back the music to export it.
That's smart man. I'll have to try that for one of my videos.
Love your work Daniel! You may have taking inspiration from peter McKinnon to start UA-cam but you stand alone in the BTS tutorial videos. You explain your transitions and decisions so well always learn a bunch from your videos
Great video Daniel!! I have now watched 3 times over the past 4 months, just love your work btw!!
9:10 It literally says Kalita on it 😞
- A disgruntled coffee nerd
SAME HAHAHA “CHEMEX”
Came here to say the same 🤓
Same same same haha. It hurt every time. But that’s okay.
I literally watched this whole video just to see if how I thought the camera trick was done.....was really how it was done. Now I have to watch the video again ....for real this time😂
Daniel, your videos are so valuable! I saw you PM’s video and yes, it must be surreal to be where you are, but damn, you deserve it. You have such a great style and your video work is not only awesome, it’s inspiring for so many people, including Peter. I can’t get enough of your BTS videos! Thank you!!
One word. Insane. Insane what goes into the production of these short b roll videos. Bravo!
Loving you B-roll and style! Just done my own last saturday "only 60 takes" :D but were you not afraid when he puts the glass down so hard it might break?
I would love to learn more about your settings incamera and your focus, i have a Sony A77II to bad i dont have 120FPS :( waiting for Sony A7IV!
Do you record each clips already thinking about how you're going to transition into the next shot? like which transitions you're going to use when editing and such? this was so awesome I'm gonna have to give it a try
i hope he answers this question. but you would assume he would!
You'd have to in order to link the clips together. He has explained it in his older videos
bro.... Chills, I love the movement and sound in every single video you put out.
Omg so stoked that you did a video with Pete! This video is lit thanks for the amazing tutorials as always!
Is there anywhere you or Peter cover and explain the “quick pan with motion blur” transitions? I can’t seem to find anywhere in tutorials.
Dig y’all, thanks🙏
I don't think you will find a tutorial called "Quick pan with motion blur". But the name is quite descriptive: you create a fake camera pan by animating the position of each clip in post and enable motion blur. If you're unsure of how to do either of those things, I think you'll probably find someone explaining it by searching for [your desired editing program] basics :)
9:43 does anyone know how to do that "keyframe up transition" he's referring to?
You could check transition and movements by using keyframes by Playback
Very nice. Peter with his sleight of hand and you with your sleight of frame editing. Great to see your breakdowns. Definitely tricks that will help with what I stumble on with transitions.
i'm glad you touched on the audio aspect of creating a video. i subconsciously gives a sense of continuity to the viewer.. loved the video my man
Dang dude it's about time you two hooked up.
Anyone wondering which music is that - "Gregory David - Current Mood"
Thanks man!! How did you find it?
thanks man looking for it
peter deserves an award from the photography/filmmaking community for helping so many people live their dreams and do what they want, also been a fan of your channel for a while now, i love that you use minimal gear because i've always found myself over packing for shoots
that guy is just different ... He just a Legend .. same as you Daniel props to you guys been waiting for this collab for a loooooongg time !!
Peter: "Can we talk about that camera trick for a moment?!"
Me: "1:17 Daniel catched the camera, 1:25 Peter turned around and Daniel walked out, 1:32 Spun around asking how sick is his cage(and no one is around)" THE MIND GAME
Am I the only noticed this? Thats the camera trick Im going to talk about.
In one of Peter’s video, he talked about how he incorporates these in some of his videos and the tutorial/breakdown for it
Someone holds the camera then ducks when he grabs and spins around. He explained that before.
The answer is on the end
LiM I thought it was just the same guy ha ha
Zach King was there
What lens was the b roll video shot on? I’m guessing a 16-35 but I’m not sure. Pleease I neeeeed to know lol
WE NEED ANSWERS!
85 mm
Dude how cool to see both of your videos showing the process of this sequence, you guys are fire! I was just hoping to see a bit of the process matching the music beats to the shots but thanks so much for what you guys do! Amazing Artists! Ohh makes me want to try that coffee for sure ! ☕️
Yo you are a pioneer man, thank you so much for taking us step by step through this awesome sequence!
I bet this is the kind of stuff that makes Steve G.'s team to reconsider their business strategy using a ton of robots for their shoots, LOL
I literally clicked on this video right before the notification popped up
Same lol
Love your style daniel, I am super inspired to really dive into my works and find my style. Keep it up! I watch your videos all the time!
Dude, your awesome. Thanks for all your tutorials. Your motivating others just like Peter did for you.
This is a bit out of context and maybe anyone who watches this knows an answer: Is color correction the last thing to to during the whole cutting process?
yes
Yes, you do color correction after finishing from the sequence and adding transitions. From my basic experience of a few months, the workflow usually goes like this:
- Go through the clips and pick what you want to be in the sequence.
- Cut the clips and add transitions.
- Add sound effects (ambiance/transition/actions)
- Color correction, white/contrast balancing and saturation.
Anyone know what editing software he is using?
This video was going soo well until he said "Chemex"..... The coffee snob in me is dying.
But then, great video Daniel!
Same bro hahah. I was like, noooo
all the effort put in the video suddenlly is crap.. glad to know that I'm not the only one xD
Marcelo Franchi It’s still an incredible video but still it’s hilarious haha
@@dltnio of course it is.. it is THE BEST b-roll of pouring coffee I've ever seen, to me at least
Chill guys, I've seen a UA-camr calling a Lamarzocco Linea PB an Aeropress.
YES!!! great video! Loved that you added in the making of the opening shot right at the end!
I am so glad these creators collaborated. What an amazing sequence!
