I actually think it is the greatest coffee sequence to ever exist. Peter made some great sequences, but he films them mostly alone and now when these 2 guys got together, magic happened.
In 3 years I would like to see a colab with Daniel, Peter and the one who is now inspired watching this video, which leads to a successful UA-cam channel.
I'm learning tons off your channel too! Just watched the 'lazy' vs 'pro' b-roll video. Very inspiring. Also, made me wish I was in sunny Vegas instead of "always winter in Narnia" Alberta, Canada. ;)
I’m so Happy for everyone right now. It’s like a win-win-win-win situation! I think the whole UA-cam family is Happy for this collab! And especially for you Mr Voice (Daniel)!
I thought it was so awesome and humble when you were nervous sitting next to him since he has been such an inspiration for you. Sitting next to Peter McKinnon. That's life goals right there. P.s great work as usual.
peter deserves an award from the photography/filmmaking community for helping so many people live their dreams and do what they want, also been a fan of your channel for a while now, i love that you use minimal gear because i've always found myself over packing for shoots
Man, I feel really happy for you! Seeing how you were talking and filming with the person who inspired you to make UA-cam videos is just amazing! You are so talented and you have worked so much to be were you are now.
wow I remember when Daniel started how he used to talk about how wanting to work for Peter one day like during Peter's contest. This is so refreshing to see! Dreams do come true people!
Somebody is holding the the cam on a stick and hes not holding the camera actualy. So the person thats operating the camera turns with peter and stays in 180 degree opposite of peter so it looks like the space is "empty" ....
This was a blast to watch how you all got these shots. You are inspiring a multi-generation of film makers- you and Peter MK! Thank you for taking the time do share this with the world.
Me watching Pete’s vid: “Damn, I wish Daniel would do a breakdown of the coffee seq-“ OMG YESSS 🙏🏼 Always loved your style, thanks for this video Daniel!
I still remember the video with Peter's Flag on your backdrop and how he inspired you to create your channel. So proud of you man and cheers to your collab.
thanks for showing that ending, I think it helps people understand how well thought out that intro that Peter did was. His movements were all choreographed. the idea to use a box, so he could hand the camera up, to make it even more mysterious, as to who he was handing it to. Then he takes the camera back and purposely turns toward where the camera just was, showing nobody there, and then spins talking about his cage but really giving the illusion that he is all alone. I just wanted to make sure you knew that there are people out here that take all that in . Brilliant! Keep up the great work Daniel, and thanks for sharing your techniques
So pumped that you finally got a collab in with Pete. I've been subbed to you for probably close to two years and have always wondered, "hey, when are the 2 Toronto film gods going to get together?". Next stop.... Chris Ramsay?
His opening line when he said “that’s like DANIEL SCHIFFER b roll” I felt like I won, like I just seen captain America say “avengers assemble” .. you did it Daniel! Congratulations!
I got addicted to Peter's videos about a year ago and I do believe it was a defining moment for me buying first DSLR camera back then, he was breaking everything down to the level that I could understand and get inspired. But! I have to say that since Peter became "a celebrity" (not sure if quotes appropriate in this case) your vids became even more valuable for me because on my current level, you are more "down to earth" if previously I would check Peter's vids first and only after yours, for quite some time it is opposite. Please continue creating such awesome content, it's priceless for newbies like me! Thank you, Daniel!
Super Manny it’s a pour over brewing method, similar to a V60 or the confusion inducing chemex, it tends to produce a sweet cup with a tad richer mouthfeel compared to the aforementioned and it looks great too!
I love how the audio on your videos is mastered so high. Makes it very easy and convenient to hear and understand each and every word. A lot of good UA-camrs are overlooking this.
Daniel you are undoubtedly one of the best videographers to shoot near perfect b-roll. It's a pleasure to watch every time, I always learn something new. Thank you
I never get tired of watching your videos and am so happy that you and Peter worked together! He is one of the main reasons I got into Photography and I have learned so much from him over the years.
I'm perplexed why anyone would dislike this video. For myself, I really appreciate that you are sharing your thought process and explaining the methodology behind your transitions. It's inspiring and makes me want to create a video myself. So, thankyou!
Daniel, you probably have heard this before but maaan, you are such a talented dude, you really inspire me to see things so diferently. This b roll is just amazing!! I also saw the behind the scenes and your collab with Peter, congratulations, i love how humble you were by telling Peter he was an inspiration for you.
Good for you Daniel, you deserve it. Nice to see the humbleness when you meet a role model even though to many of us, you as much a youtube star as Peter is.
Lucky that I decided to see this even though I had seen it on Pete's channel. Guys watch both. It is about 2 people talking about the same video in their own ways. lot of info when u watch both
I am new here, this is my second video, but I am looking forward to learning from you. I am looking to apply these cinematic aspects to my guitar and ukulele tutorials to make them both educational more cinematic as well. If you (or Peter) ever needs some original royalty free Ukulele music for your videos, let me know! I am happy to do it.
Bro, when I saw that B roll in PM channel, I thought "it's pretty close to Daniel's style" and even the music choice also. I knew it from the very beginning.
Coming full circle!! Wow!!! Cant imagine how excited you must have felt doing a vid with your role model!!! I've been a sub of peter for about 2 years now, and your sub for a year... WOW!! Just wow!!!
Peter: "Can we talk about that camera trick for a moment?!" Me: "1:17 Daniel catched the camera, 1:25 Peter turned around and Daniel walked out, 1:32 Spun around asking how sick is his cage(and no one is around)" THE MIND GAME Am I the only noticed this? Thats the camera trick Im going to talk about.
Not to put down any part of this amazing video because I learned a lot the whole time but, Peter's confidence that he got the shot in the last clip is insane. You could just tell he new that they nailed it. Daniel you and Peter are both masters in very different aspects of this amazing craft.
I literally watched this whole video just to see if how I thought the camera trick was done.....was really how it was done. Now I have to watch the video again ....for real this time😂
Have subscribed to you both for almost two years now. I find a lot of value in both channels. I love the BTS stuff you do Daniel. Keep at it, you have such a great talent.
Loving you B-roll and style! Just done my own last saturday "only 60 takes" :D but were you not afraid when he puts the glass down so hard it might break? I would love to learn more about your settings incamera and your focus, i have a Sony A77II to bad i dont have 120FPS :( waiting for Sony A7IV!
When it comes to sound ... I always do the sound effects first ... and only once you can watch the whole video without missing the music ... I add back the music to export it.

dude there was so much value in this video _before_ that last sequence showing you sneak into shot and grab that camera off of Peter. I'm so here for it. amazing work as always
Is there anywhere you or Peter cover and explain the “quick pan with motion blur” transitions? I can’t seem to find anywhere in tutorials. Dig y’all, thanks🙏
I don't think you will find a tutorial called "Quick pan with motion blur". Aloha Daniel, It was great how you honored PM. I to watch him and really enjoy his content. Look forward to learning from you. That is the cool thing about him, he shares and honors other creators!! Mahalo Aloha
Thanks to you and Peter! I hope my content, from a filmed better perspective, is getting better. Been watching you two and my last video had a comment that the lady was engaged the whole way and never got bored watching! So that was exciting, considering I post youtube coaching content that can be hard to spice up! excited to learn more!!! Thanks for all you time effort and energy!
Can we talk about that camera trick for a moment?! Thanks so much for making the greatest coffee sequence to ever exist!! 🔥🙏🏻
Peter McKinnon Great job !!! 😁🤘

I just love living when I know there are clever people in this world...
Yes talk about the camera trick!!!
Daniel Schiffer + Peter McKinnon = 🔥
Daniel: “That little coffee sequence”
Peter: “The greatest coffee sequence to ever exist”
Ky уeah exactly 🤣🤘
Daniel is an amazing videographer, but obviously humble about it. I hope that some of Peter's moxi rubs off on Daniel..... ;-)
lol
I actually think it is the greatest coffee sequence to ever exist. Peter made some great sequences, but he films them mostly alone and now when these 2 guys got together, magic happened.
There are 2 kinds of people...
In 3 years I would like to see a colab with Daniel, Peter and the one who is now inspired watching this video, which leads to a successful UA-cam channel.
Creative Dreamers NL I have 3 years, I better get started! 💪
Hell yeah! I got to start filming for now only have some photos over instagram @fotografiasdogunter

I’m not new here and I friggen loved this collab. Proud of you homie!
You all are so Amazing. Love your videos TOO Chris Hau !!! hehe
I'm learning tons off your channel too! Just watched the 'lazy' vs 'pro' b-roll video. Very inspiring. Also, made me wish I was in sunny Vegas instead of "always winter in Narnia" Alberta, Canada. ;)
Legends Collaborate and Another Legend Commented
I loved it too ! Big Channel Inspiration:)
Team Canada 🇨🇦
That last bit is everything! This is the truth of vlogging, kids. This is how it looks like. It is not glorious, doesn't look pro but darn is it fun.
Watched Peter's video and man was it awesome to see you together in the same videos.
Geniuses creating epic stuff!
You should do a collab with both and It'll be the most epic BRoll of all time
I fully agree. Pete L. Can we make a counter B Roll Attack ?? 😁
When's the PDP (Peter Daniel Peter) collab?
They need to add you peter would have been more epic
Mannn, this guy doesn't hold back. He just lets it all out there for us to learn. There's a special place in heaven for you.
I’m so Happy for everyone right now.
It’s like a win-win-win-win situation! I think the whole UA-cam family is Happy for this collab!
And especially for you Mr Voice (Daniel)!
Okay, when the coffee beans hit the table, so did my jaw. Wow.
I thought it was so awesome and humble when you were nervous sitting next to him since he has been such an inspiration for you.
Sitting next to Peter McKinnon.

Now that he revealed the secret behind Pete's opening sequence, I can die in piece. RIP me. Amen
Somebody is holding the the cam on a stick and hes not holding the camera actualy. So the person thats operating the camera turns with peter and stays in 180 degree opposite of peter so it looks like the space is "empty" ....
@@kingmuhu Yeah its very simple. Move the opposite way to the camera then run out of the room lol
Pete did that once back in the days too :D
This was a blast to watch how you all got these shots. You are inspiring a multi-generation of film makers- you and Peter MK! Thank you for taking the time do share this with the world.
Me watching Pete’s vid: “Damn, I wish Daniel would do a breakdown of the coffee seq-“ OMG YESSS 🙏🏼 Always loved your style, thanks for this video Daniel!
So glad you revealed the camera trick at the end of the video! It was killing me haha
I still remember the video with Peter's Flag on your backdrop and how he inspired you to create your channel. So proud of you man and cheers to your collab.
The definitely most DREAMLIKE thing is watching my FAVORITE two filmmakers showing up at the same time in one piece of 1920x1080 screen.👊🏽
B roll is important, but content is King. Superb technical info BTW.
thanks for showing that ending, I think it helps people understand how well thought out that intro that Peter did was. chris ramsey doing tricks while Dan is filming it would be amazing
Yes this ☝️ Pretty sure Chris would be stoked to have the opportunity 👌
YO me too! This story makes me goosebumps, amazing.
His opening line when he said “that’s like DANIEL SCHIFFER b roll” I felt like I won, like I just seen captain America say “avengers assemble” .. you did it Daniel! Congratulations!
Avangers ... sip ... assemble ... haha....
13:06 hahah! I love how Peter does the "manual" sound for the transition.. these 2 are epic duo
That selfie changing into a no-hand floating camera was the biggest wow moment for me
I've been following you for awhile, man. After watching all of your tutorials, I finally made my own channel. Excited to watch this one!!
The best, i learn a lot!
Both you and Peter make the most epic and gorgeous B roll I've ever seen, you two are an inspiration to us all!!
Yo daniel, I told you 2 yrs ago how much similar u two are, and that you'll partner with him. You did it!!! I got proof bro!
Congrats!!!!
where is the proof?
Yeah where's the proof 😂😂😂😂
we still need the proof..
Where’s that proof bro?
still waiting for the proof

And now Peter McKinnon will never do a coffee video again. You set the bar high. Great collaboration!
Awesome reveal at the end. On the first watch of the opening sequence I was envisioning Daniel quickly running around when Peter spins.
“I believe that’s a chemex” come on maaaan! That’s a good ole Kalita Wave! You’re a proper film genius!
I thought the sammeee thing
Daniel: “I believe that’s a chemex” me: "no , kid, it's not."
Whats a Kalita wave? I love coffee and I have never heard of such machine 😅😫
Super Manny it’s a pour over brewing method, similar to a V60 or the confusion inducing chemex, it tends to produce a sweet cup with a tad richer mouthfeel compared to the aforementioned and it looks great too!
@@SuperMannyphoto Hey bro! It's basically a Hario V-60, just a different brand name and brewing recipes.
I love how the audio on your videos is mastered so high.

A lot of good UA-camrs are overlooking this.
Absolutely stunning work, two great minds in the same vid 😍
Love seeing those hand held camera moves with PM making coffee.
Ouuhhh that's a huge creative combo! 😍😂
Daniel you are undoubtedly one of the best videographers to shoot near perfect b-roll. It's a pleasure to watch every time, I always learn something new. Thank you
Damn i feels like yesterday when i found your channel after already knowing Peter. I knew this would one day be coming!

epic as usual, came after seeing peters video
Good for you Daniel, you deserve it. Nice to see the humbleness when you meet a role model even though to many of us, you as much a youtube star as Peter is.
when i do that kind of coffee making in my kitchen
mom : what are you doing
me: making coffee like pete
mom : get out (throws slipper )
Oh man 😍 that camera flying off trick was something I kept pondering over after watching Peter's video. Glad to see it at the end here. ❤️
Lucky that I decided to see this even though I had seen it on Pete's channel. Guys watch both. It is about 2 people talking about the same video in their own ways. lot of info when u watch both
The collab I've always wanted to see! Two of the most talented film makers on UA-cam.
"Wondering how Peter did that with the camera" - Mind blows at the end 🤯
PETER AND DANIEL
Blast blast blast

Same lol
I genuinely think this is the best b roll short sequence I’ve ever seen
Peter: "Can we talk about that camera trick for a moment?!"

Am I the only noticed this? Thats the camera trick Im going to talk about.
In one of Peter’s video, he talked about how he incorporates these in some of his videos and the tutorial/breakdown for it
Someone holds the camera then ducks when he grabs and spins around. He explained that before.
The answer is on the end
LiM I thought it was just the same guy ha ha
Zach King was there
Not to put down any part of this amazing video because I learned a lot the whole time but, Peter's confidence that he got the shot in the last clip is insane. You could just tell he new that they nailed it. Daniel you and Peter are both masters in very different aspects of this amazing craft.
9:10 It literally says Kalita on it 😞
- A disgruntled coffee nerd
SAME HAHAHA “CHEMEX”
Came here to say the same 🤓
Same same same haha. It hurt every time. But that’s okay.
