World's Pickiest: Animals Who Require PRECISE Conditions (good way to start convo on importance of conservation and keeping environments as they should be)
Hi to connor: you guys have reawakened a childhood love of animals in me. This is the only podcast i regularly watch, so its weird to call it my favorite, but it totally is!
38:48 hello connor, this is probably the amount of neurodivergent people this podcast attracts lol learning about animals in this way became my new hiperfixation bc of maya lol keep the good work luv u guys
i listened to this episode on spotify this morning while walking my dog and i forgot the time stamp but it was around the time when you guys talked about tasmanian devils, i think connor was the one who mentioned the tasmanian tiger and I would love an episode all about extinct animals, i got so excited when it was mentioned, i love tasmanian tigers 🥺 i think it’s not only interesting to learn about animals who are extinct, its also important to remember them, because of how awful humans are for hunting some species to the end.
2:40 raising kids is just like raising monkeys. With a big enough enclosure, plenty of enrichment, and occasional training sessions, they’ll turn out great.
I love these podcasts so much. Thank you for all the work you put in. If there are any animators, I was thinking I'd LOVE really short animations of some of the key points of the stories for shorts.
world's most cooperative: animals that work alongside humans for beneficial gain, or animals that work together for beneficial gain. I'm mostly thinking about how orcas will work together to hunt, or how orcas and fishermans used to work together to hunt baleen whales. or humpback whales who go out of their way to defend other animals against hunting orcas.

Some reptiles are surprisingly good parents! Crocs protect their babies and even carry them to water. Pythons and king cobras guard their eggs, and some skinks stick around to keep their young safe. 🐊🐍
no matter how many times i learn it, i am always baffled at the fact that marsupials are not born directly into the pouch but instead are born from the vagina and then have to climb up their mothers fur into the pouch like huhhhh
ovo (ovum) - egg vivi (vivus) - life parous (parire) - produce ovo/vivi/parous - producing new life via eggs which hatch within the parent it's one of those words that make slightly more sense from the latin etymology (but also not exactly) and from there you kinda remember how to pronounce the word (it's 6 freaking syllables)
This topic reminded me about research I did into wolf spider moms. They’re not bad moms, in fact quite the opposite (I was only reminded cause of the topic of “animal” parents)
1:10...Lice are still prevalent in many cultures : Asia ,Eastern Europe ,Africa and the Middle East...Oh , and many day-care centers here in the U.S of A. 9:39...Through the umbilical cord ?? 14:18...A koala makes a similar sound ; just not so pronounced as the Tazzy devil . 33:36...'Finning' sharks is prevalent at the Sea of Cortez ( many decades now ). As a detriment to the Cortez , what they have is a very large body of water w/an abundance of Humbolt and giant squid . Are more dangerous than sharks . Don't swim at night there...
And for the 1000th year in a row! The worst parents in the world are….. HUMANS! Let’s give it up, guys! They’ve worked hard for this every single year!

Very cool pants! first thing I notice
Suggestion : world's best parents or best childhood for animals !
..... I might like bugs..... but i've found a limit.....
ears don't bleed a lot, there's barely any circulation there. Scalp would probably be the most efficient.
(Resists the urge to bust out the Baby Shark song)
This topic reminded me about research I did into wolf spider moms. They’re not bad moms, in fact quite the opposite (I was only reminded cause of the topic of “animal” parents)
