Yes - the lift bed can be positioned half way like bunk beds so that you can sleep 2 on the bed and 2 on the club lounge / bed conversion.

The bed stays stable.
I think it stays stable because of the two rails in the back of the bed. It takes the bed the freedomdegrees and it cant wobble anymore.
