    Wildcamp, wildcamp and more wildcamping.
    This week Stephen and myself wildcamp along the Causeway Coast, this is our ninth camp of the year overtaking last years number of wildcamping trips. Camping trips have became a firm favorite for the channel.
    For this weeks camp I am out in the Robens Pioneer 2ex tent which is a cracking tent for low land camps, Stephen has brought the Helm 2 compact tent which withstood the unpredictable coastal weather.
    My first camp out using my new mic which i purchased from ‪@DJI‬ www.dji.com/uk...

    Great video. Really enjoyed that 🙂 That spot is class when the Sun shines but we have seen little of that this summer. I trail run there but always wondered if anyone would complain if you wild camped! That is as good a camping spot as any, but if the tide is in, you can climb the bank beside the beach, cross a farmers field and pick up a track on the other side onto Whitepark Bay. I have had to do that many a time ! There wouldn't be many great camping sites on the other side anyway.

      @@timmcilveen1246 morning Tim, thank you for watching and leaving a comment. Very little sun indeed, sometimes we just grin and bear it unfortunately 😂. I seen one trail runner on Sunday morning when we where leaving and I thought I’d love to run along there so I must give it a go. We where lucky it was only the two of us, im not sure if you’d get many more tents in. Maybe it was a sign for us if the tide was in then not to go round the cliff if there’s not much spots about, we did see a bank up towards a fence and thought we better stay down low, didn’t want to get on the wrong side of anybody.

    Hi, i just found your channel, very good content mate
    With tunnel tents like yours, try putting the guy lines at the front pulling towards the front and the rear pulling rear wards instead of 90 degrees out to the side. Ive a similar tent, only smaller (Robens Sprinter 2) and this really helps tighten the sides. I look forward to watching your other videos 👍

      @@andybarbour3620 Hi Andy, thank you for that, very much appreciated 👍. Happy days with the guy ropes, I will definitely be trying that the next time, I just couldn’t get it taught. How do you like the Robens? I find this one a great tent, a bit of a beast to carry but I love it.

    • @andybarbour3620
      @andybarbour3620 Місяць тому

      @@GeoffGreenawayOutdoors yeah I like mine alot, I think they're decent tents. If you do fancy a lighter option, the Sprinter 2 is only 1.9kgs. But the vestibule is no where near the size of your one. But I still find it plenty big enough for 1 person and gear. 👍

    • @GeoffGreenawayOutdoors
      @GeoffGreenawayOutdoors  Місяць тому +1

      @ good stuff Andy, I do like the vestibule size in this one and I don’t really do mountain tops in it due to the size, I love it on lowland camps in the rain, means you can chill out and be cramped.

      @@Butchyboysadventures hahaha yes mate stephen needs a good slagging once in a while 😂. I’m definitely going to have to attach something to the sides of it, it’s a smashing tent. • @fiskmasadventures

    Nice night out, that, great video! For the problem with the tent sides flapping in the wind, I reckon an effective solution would to buy a couple of lock grip tarp clamps, put one on either side (on the flysheet "lip") and attach a bungee cord loop to them, so you can peg them down.

    • @GeoffGreenawayOutdoors
      @GeoffGreenawayOutdoors  5 місяців тому +1

      @@fiskmasadventures hi mate, thanks very much for that suggestion, I will look into the clamps it definitely sounds like it could be a plan. It’s a great tent but does seem flappy unfortunately. Thank you for watching very much appreciated 👍

    • @fiskmasadventures
      @fiskmasadventures 5 місяців тому +1

      @@GeoffGreenawayOutdoors No worries, man, I think it could be a good little mod to make - and without doing any "surgery" to the tent as well, as the clamps just pinch the fabric! And I agree, the tent seems absolutely brilliant apart from the flappy flysheet along the sleeping area, but I've seen many tunnel tents that uses those kinds of extra pegging points from the skirt/lip on the middle of the length to keep it taut.

    • @GeoffGreenawayOutdoors
      @GeoffGreenawayOutdoors  5 місяців тому +1
