Bottas wants to be treated as if he's the #1 driver for Mercedes, not Hamilton. Bottas was very successful when with Williams but Hamilton, pure and simple has superior driving skills. If Hamilton and Bottas raced head up against Hamilton for 10 races, no team rules, who do you think would win the most races? Don't you think that Mercedes has figured that out in simulation and actually on the track? Why do you think each team fields 2 drivers? For them to race each other? Er, probably not. To ensure one of them has the best chance to win. If your simply tired of one person dominating the sport, then say that. Although no one seemed to mind as much when Michael Schumacher dominated it. I'm just saying.....
@@tanabatagaming I agree. Both of them make millions of dollars to do a job and they both have defined roles. Mercedes has been making more mistakes than usual this year. I personally feel that fans make more out of both drivers relationships with Mercedes because they are tired of Hamilton's total dominance, hence some of the ludicrous statements, accusations and general dislike for Hamilton. Add in a smattering of racism and there you have it. Bottas has proven that he isn't Hamilton's superior on the track. And the appearance that Hamilton is treated better than Bottas is a misnomer. But that's just my opinion
boring as barcelona, with inverted roles, guys just going excited because of one undercut lol, i doubt someone would say that if hamilton had won the race
Absolutely incredible race. This season has been what most people have been waiting for for the last 4-5 years. It’s been epic. Especially since it’s been a chess game with strategies and beautiful driving.
When there's no SC, accidents or any other thing that could cost a pilot his pace, it is now shown that the pace of Mercs and RB are faaar way better than the rest. Almost 50 seconds between Bottas and Norris at finish.
Don't exaggerate, they had an engine upgrade and his first place in the previous race, well we all know what happened there with Verstappen and Hamilton.
@@lev2727 he is right actually. Perez may not have the pace to win, but he was always there. What happen to Hamilton and Verstappen in Baku was unfortunate. But he was there to collect a minimum of 2nd place. Just as he was there today to not allow Mercedes to consider the 2 stops as he was always within the 25s needed for a pit stop.
@@lev2727 Yeah, we all know what happened. Perez, besides that he kept Hamilton at bay for 30+ laps, with his aggressive defensive move at the restart, forced Hamilton to an amateur mistake. All your "castles", excuses, "masterclass" bullsh1t will fall this year. More to come, stay tuned.
I think the backmarkers and midfield have been underrated in the last 3 races, especially Monaco and Baku. Incident free, No SC (at least not because of any race collisions) and have been accommodating of race leaders. Two thumbs up for that maturity amongst the entire field.
Haas is so far back mazepin cant threaten anyone. Grosjean and Kmag also left, Stroll turned into a super solid driver... There isnt anyone left to cause chaos lol
I never thought I’d say this but this was the most EXCITING Paul Ricard French Grand Prix we’ve had since it joined the calendar. Amazing job by Redbull on the two stop undercut. They studied the Mercedes strategy guide book for dummies and executed it to perfection.
It's only exciting when they stage it, hence why they do it. Max going off the track at the start, totally deliberate. Lewis being jumped at the stop, totally deliberate, and then ludicrous tyre strategies despite having large teams of people with endless data. Lewis didn't even defend when being overtaken. Tired of these con artists staging these races like this. Just let them race. People will believe anything though, so I'm wasting my time on here.
The boss never listens to any employee who is on the way out, especially when the decision is made by the boss. But that doesn’t mean the employee isn’t right.
I'm still surprised they didn't pit him a second time after he got overtaken by Perez to get the fastest lap. He had like 45 seconds to Norris in 5th place.
What did Merc do wrong then when Bottas crashed Russel? Or when he raced Hamilton in Spain? Despite the trend to claim Merc only blames Bottas for everything that went wrong, at least this season I’ve seem plenty more of the oppositie. Can you name me one of Bottas’ mistakes he took the blame for?
@@antonkirilenko3116 Wolff said because of the investigation regarding Perez overtaking and leaving the track he might have gotten a 5 sec penalty. In the end he didn't and Bottas didn't even hold the 5 sec distance.

@@josaphina The crash itself - yes. But Bottas was blamed for being in this position in the first place, specifically - running in P9 and being DRS attacked by a Williams.
This wasn’t necessarily a two-stopper. It’s just that HAM and BOT were putting full pressure on VER after the first stop. Basically going way faster than all of them would’ve liked and burning up that rubber. While PER was just cruising behind. By then it basically became a two stopper and Red Bull pulled the trigger first. However, because the gap was nearly 3 sec to VER, HAM would still end up behind him if he pitted. Even worse, PER would still be in front and HAM would need to clear him as well. That’s why Mercedes didn’t really have a choice other than staying out. Alternatively, Mercedes could’ve pitted the second car and split the strategy. This would’ve been the most logical choice for constructor points and could’ve won BOT the 3rd place. But they decided against it and left BOT out as well to form a barrier against the charging VER. Basically sacrificing BOT again for the sake of HAM. And in the end, Mercedes lost both.
Because valterri didnt park the car properly while pitstop distracting everyone which hampered team's concentration and also he ate porridge for breakfast whose smell messed with the thinking capabilities of strategists duh

@@kushxmen geez. I guess Toto could also say that had he not gone wide, he could’ve held off Verstappen. Had he held him up for another lap or two and burnt the tires off, he might not have caught Ham.
@@TheBlackopsbeast360 That may be true but it was clear that VER was way faster than BOT and even if he did not go wide, VER would have easily passed him in the next straight. An example was with PER. He defended in the same corner well, but PER passed BOT way easily in the next straight and PER had older hard tyres than the younger Medium tyres VER had. In short, BOT race was compromised to help HAM but based on his tyres, he could not manage it. Mercedes put BOT in a hard place then blames him after.
I’m curious what mistake Bottas did agree to be his this season. I’ve heard him blame Lewis for his own slow start in Spain, blame the team today for the fact he didn’t opt to still pit for softs after Perez got passed by him despite them being ready for it. And even blame the team to presumably give him the lesser car/losing strategy when a change of frame still easily proves Hamilton to be the better/quicker driver. I’m not part of Merc, so I’m not that familiar with the way they handle things internally. But what I can see as an outsider is Bottas consistently blaming both Hamilton and the team, Hamilton having blamed the team once and Totto blaming Valteri serveral times as well. If I remember correctly however, Bottas was the only one who didn’t try to rectify those statements or at least take back part of the blame he passed on… People tell me Merc is all about having a strong team culture rather then serving the individual but it seems to me Valteri is allowed so much more wiggle room then any other part of that team. I couldn’t imagine what would happen if Hamilton would even think about blaming Bottas for the mistakes he made himself…

Bottas doesn’t get the respect he deserves from his team. You can hear his frustration.
@@chriswilliams8849 The love they give to him must not depend on his success alone...
Hence it was a two stopper
Yeah, great point. If Bottas is there for anything it's the CC, not to get Lewis the DC. Disappointing from Merc. Happy though, RB fan

Yeah, Toto actualy did. He said that Bottas flat spotted his tyres, making him come to the pits earlier than Ham, hence why they were undercut.
@@kushxmen exactly
