It's not correctly called washi tape unless you use washi paper. Otherwise, it's called paper tape or decorative tape.
Good to know. Kinda like champagne, I guess? There’s not much I can do about it for this video, since I mentioned washi approximately one million times, but I’ll be aware of the distinction in the future. Thanks for sharing 😊
That's like pointing out that to refer to clear adhesive tape as "scotch tape" is incorrect. Unless one labels or markets it for sale as such, does it really matter? 🙆🏼

I'm sure it doesn't matter to most people, but some of us like to use correct terminology. If not, it could be confusing or even misleading in some instances. It's not like referring to all tape as "Scotch" tape (tho that is incorrect too, like calling all tissues "Kleenex") because in this instance, we're talking about a type of paper used, not a brand name. If I ordered washi tape online, and my order arrived and I saw that it was made with vinyl instead of washi paper, that would be deceptive and I would be disappointed and would return it, because I would want to receive what I thought I had ordered.
Washi police on duty? Another UA-camr was called out on it so she now calls it fauxshi tape.
