Amazing, this is so refreshing to see both in gameplay and in the cutscenes, makes the vanilla weapons look like toys.

Most of the Vanilla guns are so ahead of the time since the Game took place in 1984
Lotta issues with the gun customization, unfortunately, which I need to make certain loadouts work together right. A shame, though, because dude put a ton of work into this and it really shows.

These weapons look quite good, but some of them are quite anachronistic. For example: The *USP* didn't entered production until 1993, but the game takes place in 1984.
The *Glock 17* would be more period appropriate, since it entered production in 1982.
I’m pretty sure it’s just in the game as a callback to mgs2, and I don’t think anachronism is an issue in the game with a 90 foot tall robots and fog zombies.
you do realize that peace walker had real world guns that would be anachronistic to the games setting of 1974 such as the SPAS-12, AUG, and CAWS

this doesn't strike me as a good reason to remake the game, they could easily update it. Honestly, the game really just needs more content rather than redone weapons.

as cool as this mod is, the only gripes i've got w it is that u can't rlly customize any of the weapons to the same extent as in vanilla. plus they r all replacements rather than additions but i hear there's a zeta port in the works that rectifies that issue

Does that mean I can finally play this game.... Bought it in 2015 when it came out, stopped playing after a few hours when I discovered all guns were fictional (literally bought a PS4 just to play it). Real guns is so integral to MGS, the fact they had a 10 minute cut scene just to talk over the M4A1 or 1911, to get rid of real guns was such an insane move.
IIRC Kojima didn't want to support the mil-industrial complex, and MGSV was also wayyy over budget and I don't think konami wanted to budge.

Hello! I would like to know why some guns of this mod appears with bugs like on scopes and grips? I already tested the HD and SD files, and with both the files, my game gets some weapons attachments glitchs, do you know what i have to do?
´cause if u want use this mods, u need to delete all guns attachments, I mean without scopes, grips etc. The reason is simple, this mod disable the option ´cause this guns cant attach any modification that u want (supressor, sights, etc). Trust me, without that this mod is pretty useless and can corrupt some sights forever

Just installed the mod and it's like playing this game for the 1st time. Amazing how simple cosmetics change how you like a game. The vanilla guns are ugly AF.

The guns in the game are so stupid and not realistic not sure what kojima was thinking he should have kept mgs peace walker weapons added customization and made new weapons with dlcs too

But I think Konami chose not to use real life Weapons to avoid the firearms license

Are you referring to the AMR sniper? Either way the general attempt was to keep everything relatively time period accurate
This game is set in the 80's. Adding modern rifles wouldn't make much sense

The annoying part about this mod is that it can cause serious stability issues, including major unplayable freezes that at times require uninstall and reinstall. It's not really possible to do a proper full playthrough with the mod installed. The problem is if you try it, the guns look so much better than vanilla that when you need to uninstall it, you don't want to play the game without it. I've been waiting for the update that supposedly addresses a lot of these problems, but I don't know if that'll ever happen.
Why make the tornado 6 some hunting revolver and not the rsh 12? That's clearly what it's supposed to be right?
Because it’s ocelot’s revolver and he uses western equipment. The only reason they chose the model 3 schofield is because the in-game revolver is a break-action and the schofield is the most popular break-action western revolver.

Yes and no. Metal Gear is all about events that "never happened" so you'll see guns that were around earlier than they were introduced. Plus, the prototypes at least were around.
Probably not 100% accurate but there's nothing super modern that wouldn't fit in the '80s. At worst there are some early '90s guns but you could argue that their firearm development sped up compared to ours because of the whole increase in PFs or something like that
USP, SOCOM MK23, FAMAS G2, G36C, Saiga 12, Javelin launcher, and HK PSG1 weren't around at the time.
@@mobiusraptor7 there is also the plausibility factor. So for example the Ithaca M37 and XM16E1 (early M16A1) in Metal Gear Solid 3, and in the CODEC calls with Sigint he says that they were likely captured in the Vietnam war by Spetsnaz operatives
In real life the Spetsnaz did use some other interesting weapons in the Soviet Afghan war like the UZI, M16A1, Mauser C96, etc.
59:15 should of been a Barrett .50 cal but this weapon looks cool too 😊
The Barrett .50 cal is in semi-automatic, it doesn't use the bolt action system.

These are the guns that should've been in the game (minus the ones that didnt exist in the 80s). I don't buy for a second that Kojima did this as a protest against the arms industry profiting off of war, I think he just didn't want to pay money to go through copyright.

you can just make slight changes to the guns and name them something else, that's how most developers get away with it. They wouldn't have had to pay any copyright (especially on 80's guns, where the patents on them have likely run out by now.) Once the patent ran out on Gen 3 Glock 19's, everybody was making their own knockoff.
@@YungBeezer Heck, they didnt even need to make any cosmetic changes, just change the name, which is what a lot of them did. My point is Kojima's decision to make cursed versions of irl guns wasn't necessary.

The lack of scopes and customization is the only bad part. The former especially, i could easily do without the latter if they had scoped variants, how the FAL and M4 especially don't is nutty.
Not a very good mod. Friends and I have not had the greatest experiences with the creator either :/
