I found an easy way to blow through character mastery's. In Invasion mode go to Shang Tsungs tower. At the top of the tower there is a Test Your Might. This Test your Might is by far the easiest one in the game. It should only take about 5 seconds per go at it. You can easily max out a character in an hour or two
Something interesting if you’re dabbling with invasions merchants If any item says sold out, just go back to the main menu and repeat purchase You can stack the same items by 10% increments You can do the same thing with the experience trinkets on the top right training map
Basically invasions are not your main source for cosmetics. Each character has 2 skins with 6 pallettes and you unlock all those only in their mastery. You get an additional 2 pallettes for each of those skins in invasions with some characters having an additional 3rd tattoo pallette. If you want to unlock story skins such as the dark version of characters or Suit Kenshi and Indiana Jones Johnny you get those in the shrine. Koins only get spent in the shrine so spend to your hearts desire. Your main source of cosmetics though is character mastery unless you want story items then you want the shrine.

I have shoas axe reward for tier 3 from simply leveling him up but I don't have his grandmaster reward skin and the only way to get it is in the kombat league as far as I can tell

It's *hard.* I've watched *every single MK History,* I've watched the Metas, I know how the games work. *However,* nothing prepares you for actual execution timing. MK1's in particular. Nor unlocking things (never thought to see that again.) This game is truly a combination of MKX, MK:DA, MK:D, and MK:A. Fast paced like MKX. Konquest like DA and MK:D. Air combat for Armageddon. Oh and Armageddon. I'd love "The Science of MK1" Examples: -MK1's Kameo system needs some explaining, such as "Does Kameo trigger while using a special move?" (Which it does, it's used in Scorpion's tutorial.) -How to know what *is* and *is not* hit confirmable (if possible.) -Frame Data: I know the game's tutorials explain a lot, even *frame traps and jailing,* but I don't think the combo tutorials are practical damage. -Button Config: Release Check for example is what I'm most curious about. I enjoy it, but maybe it's "not viable to learn."
I've been sitting on 1/2 rounds won with fatal blow all day despite having done a bunch quite deliberately across game modes and in every confirmable permutation
Careful with the quick XP grinds and remember there are several different types of XP: Profile level, Invasion level, Character level, and Kameo level. Many times videos (not saying this one) will claim that you can get XP easy when they are only talking about one type and Invasion and Profile XP really does not need to be grinded out. Also, that Not Junk Relic does not give XP bonus to anything other than your Invasion level so take it off once you reach 30 - it's other power (zero damage to super-armor) is only hindering you. A few things on note: 1) There is really no reason to grind profile XP with the Test Your Might trick - just play Invasions and you will get there quickly enough. And you want to play through all of Invasions to get the unlocks that come with it along the way. Also, by just playing through with a character first and hitting level 30 in your Invasion profile, every character has the full 145 points to add to their stats. I usually do my stats at 45/80/80/45/45 (or there abouts) so there is a little balance for playing towers and stuff - you will never survive later Invasions fights without upping your other stats a little. Also, I think there is diminishing returns on the "put all your points in attack" strategy that is circling the internet. 2) Finish with a Brutality if you can, but if it goes wrong, still do the Fatality as it does net you a good chunk of points. 3) As others have said, the easier endurance matches in the Fengjian Village mesa net the fastest results to grind character and Kameo XP- either Triple Threat or (the one I use because the AI just seem dumber somehow) Team Work. 4) The point breakdown is thus (press "Y" to see points after the fight): EACH Flawless nets you 150/235/65 (thus not getting hit in all three give a whopping 450/705/195 XP! 😲) Fatality gives: 60/95/25 A Brutality gives: 120/90/55 (twice that of a fatality with a little extra to the Kameo for some reason) Victory bonus is: 75/235/130 5) Doing this I have eight Kameos maxed and all characters at least to level fifteen - to get that last Brutality in their profile. It takes me about an hour to get to fifteen, but some say they can do it much faster. Reptile was one-hitting all three for me (since they are weak against his acid) and it took an hour so not sure how those people are claiming they are doing it quicker, but I'd love to see it. That's all I have - good luck out there and enjoy the grind! 😂😂😂😂😂
Just use a talisman that gives armor to ensure that you don’t get hit while doing character and kameo xp grind. Try to buff the activation speed so the opponent does not hit you while you’re turning it on.
@@leandroperonrp Yes, you can use a talisman to armor up as well. I personally don’t bother as doing the endurance matches over and over, it is not really necessary when you get in a pattern, but if you find yourself getting tagged often, that is certainly an option.

@@leandroperonrp It’s the fastest way I know of. It does get tedious. I’ve found that it takes about four and a half hours to master a character. I can’t really say for Kameos but I have mastered 11 of the 15 of them at this point. I have only two characters mastered, four at 25, two at 20 and the rest at 15. As I said, it is a grind and I’ve had to take a break this week because it is more of a job than any amount of fun. I think I may try to complete the rest in five to ten level spurts. It’s hard though because the last ten levels take about two hours….
I went ahead and watched the almost 4 hours worth of cutscenes a few days ago. Kinda tradition for me. That way I get to experience and watch it(which was really great btw) and just jump right into the game when I get it

It takes about 150k to unlock everything in the seasonal shop excluding what you get from invasions. Also as a side note you do unlocks some things by doing the seasonal tower in the Gateway area. think the shrine was around the same at 150k.
Just play the endless tower or get a certain character up to a certain rank while doing an arcade mode i only have 2 more cameo fighters to unlock i bet there gonna add in more as dlc later in future updates going forward how you unlock costumes and certain moves too 😊😊
I was very surprised after getting halfway through the story to find out that it doesn’t count towards Weekly Quest or Character Experience. I get they want people to play the Invasion modes, but even that is quite a slog.

Seems like this is going to be a problem for tourney organizers. That’s quite a few unlocks needed that will take a few hours. Playing the game normally it took me about 10 hours or so to get all char/kameos.
All those skins and gear pieces and no loadouts, a common thing in prior NRS games. Hope that gets patched at launch cos it's annoying to have to go to kustomize and switch out every attire.

It's so nice to see MK1 going back to Mortal Kombat's roots. Even unlocks feel so much better than they did in MK11, where so much was just a paid DLC skin.
Big question: Moving forward is there a logic or philosophy pertaining to what Kameos i should pair with certain characters? Like for instance im playing Geras/Sektor (im a returning player since mkx) just because i like the two characters, but i also want to play a competitively viable pairing; i see players pairing with Sareena. Is that choice based on how good a Kameo is or are there perfect reasons why i can more so pick who i wanna play (perhaps for playstyle reasons and so forth)?
It's a shame that NRS put single player unlockables like that. Costumes are fine, but at this point they know about the tournament scene and should have planned accordingly.

after playing the story mode i connected my game to my WB account, all of the cosmetics are now gone forever, and the story mode is still completed so i cant get them back

This is for those like me that got ripped off in buying the switch version, if you haven't done invasion mode yet you only get access to the cage mansion tutorial it's very useless and while you could do it still the online mode is a better way
I just noticed that PS5/Xbox has 7 kombos per character but on Switch characters only have 1 or 6 kombo tutorials. I understand the graphical issues on the Switch but how much other content is missing?! In invasion mode I can't go past Cage Mansion without getting "To Be Kontinued", is Invasion mode fully unlocked on PS5/Xbox?!
On PS5? Yes it's fully Unlocked. Just beat Cage Mansion and am now on Fengjian Village. All the other Mesas I just need to unlock as I progress through the mode.

Those kombos are really hard, I've been playing these games for decades, but the timing on them is so annoying and its all like down,up 4 instead of easier to execute ones like 4,3,3,2, up2; or something like that. I completed all the combo stuff for MK 11 because they didn't ask you to execute incredibly complex ones.
Maskless options are obtainable in the shrine. It's a legendary rarity, so it's entirely about luck. I also think they're among the last Mastery level unlocks

The weekly quest for connecting 50 uppercuts keeps going up and down instead of up even though I’m doing them 💀
that's been happening for me too it will be at 2 and then 7 and then go back down to 2 even when I only do uppercut during a fight
Yeah, they are all bugged. I had my Play 25 Matches question be completed and then go back down to 23 matches.

i have grinded the invasions and can say the best way to level the invasions level, is to go to the training mesa, buy the xp consumables, and bam

probably because in mk11 we could choose skills,now its just one gear piece and skins which they probably thought wouldnt need presets
They could at least make a quick fix with something like press a button to rotate between your favorite palletes on character select.

Although invasions mode is a way to level up, I've found that rank matches are the quickest. It gives you the most xp.
That's why I hate it. For a solo player like me who don't like to fight other ppl then I'm fcked and have to unlock everything so slow.

Would it be possible to lower the volume of the opener in your vids? It's noticeably louder than the rest of the video so I usually have to selectively lower the volume then reset it when the talking starts

perfect. i couldn’t care less about the story mode and just want to have all the kameos unlocked as i spend two nights a week at fighting game locals where i sometimes bring my ps5 so i need to have all characters

It sucks that you need to be online to unlock stuff... just means in years to come, most of the stuff will be locked away forever.
They just can patch it to offline whenever they want..
In the years to come, especially once they kill servers, there should be alternate ways to get the unlocks.
Do you know how to completely unlock "Music" and "Environment Art" in KOLLECTIONS? I find out that by leveling account level you get some music and environment art sets, but I just cannot unlock sets like the "Wu Shi Academy" and "The Pyramid". Thoughts?

I saw that you can unlock Kombat League skins in invasion mode's store? At least this is what several people have told me for those who don't want to be tortured in KL.

Do you get different/more rewards for completing Story mode on higher difficulty? I played the entire thing on Medium but will I get different rewards if I play it again on higher difficulty?
No, difficulty doesn’t affect anything regarding rewards from the story mode. Just play it on easy and blaze through it.

Shang is already up to buy for EIGHT FUCKING DOLLARS. A character, already on the disc, for $8US.
This is for those like me that got ripped off in buying the switch version, if you haven't done invasion mode yet you only get access to the cage mansion tutorial it's very useless and while you could do it still the online mode is a better way
So are we just completely screwed or not!? I want to leave the mansion but it just says 2b continue!!!???

I just noticed that PS5/Xbox has 7 kombos per character but on Switch characters only have 1 or 6 kombo tutorials. I understand the graphical issues on the Switch but how much other content is missing?! In invasion mode I can't go past Cage Mansion without getting "To Be Kontinued", is Invasion mode fully unlocked on PS5/Xbox?!
On PS5? Yes it's fully Unlocked. Just beat Cage Mansion and am now on Fengjian Village. All the other Mesas I just need to unlock as I progress through the mode.

Tbh this game got boring for me in less than a week and Invasion mode is only gonna add a few days of content before I'm bored again. MK11 is the GOAT and MK1 is the Sheep.
I bought MK1 at Walmart and it had the code for ol shangy boy 😂 I bought the Kombat pack too cause I had to have Homelander, Omni Man, and peacemaker.

You can change only some of the stage looks. I'm not sure if they're planning on adding more.

I think I am lucky I ordered mk1 5 months after release and the game came I opened it and saw a pre order code turns out they accidentally put a pre order version of the game and I got shang shung for free. Sooo that's something

Those kombos are really hard, I've been playing these games for decades, but the timing on them is so annoying and its all like down,up 4 instead of easier to execute ones like 4,3,3,2, up2; or something like that. I completed all the combo stuff for MK 11 because they didn't ask you to execute incredibly complex ones.
It doesn't get any easier in any fighting game.. Spend some time actually memorizing the inputs. Mk is extremely forgiving in combos.

Maskless options are obtainable in the shrine. It's a legendary rarity, so it's entirely about luck. I also think they're among the last Mastery level unlocks

I swear the mastery rewards r not that great n what’s up wit the silver n gold outfits I want some badass outfits like the dark evil ones in the story I herd they r not even in the game yet
