Tried 15m FT8 today after watching this video. Tuned my homebrew end fed with my ATU and immediately got a contact from Hungary. Another band open for me to explore. Many thanks.
As a Radio newbie I'm finding your 'Guides to XXm Band' really helpful. Thanks for making these videos. Any chance of a 12m guide, there seems little on that band?
Nice to see Kenwood still in the ham game...they did some nice vhf and uhf kit years ago...used to sell their stuff at Lowes in Matlock...great channel...thanks de g0fqb
I would love a Kenwood one day, great looking radio. I have made a few contacts recently on 15m with a long wire, its been working really well. Simple but works.
15m is my favorite band. I'm on 15m during the day, either FT8, PSK31, RTTY and SSB. There's lots of good DX contacts that comes through on all modes. If the band conditions are good, it'll open up early in the morning around 9am to 10am here in East Tennessee. Lot's of European, Russian and sometimes Middle Eastern countries are coming through. During the evening, I've worked Japan on 15m using the Grayline Propagation. Sometimes it'll stay open late into the early morning around 1 or 2 am, sometimes 3 am. There's usually hardly any SSB activity exceptduring a contest, so 15m makes a great ragchew band compared to the others. It's also great for RTTY for the digital ops as well. Hope to catch you all on 15m soon. 73, W4ISB Mike in Tennessee
Thanks Tony for this helpful little video clip. My morse isn't very good either so can't offer you anything at this time. Keep up the good with Martin. 73's Philip G6LTD.
I never had much luck with 15m until quite recently; with the improving propagation I've been on several times lately and managed to work a Japanese station with about 70W of cw. It's good for QRP, less absorption and more efficient antennas are easier to implement.
Another great video. I love the 15m band when it's open and busy. I use one of your 15m mobile antennas with my Xiegu x6100 and had my first contact on this band with someone from Finland a couple of months ago. A really great signal too. Keep doing the videos 👍😎
Nice video Tony, I have been paying more attention to 15m this year all be it Data Modes, and added 64 new DXCC on the band. Loving the 890, so much so I have 2 in the shack for GM5G ops. 73 de GM1TGY
I used to listen a lot back in the 1960s early 70s. 21 Mhz was always my favourite band. Much like 28 Mhz but open more often and somehow more civilised. Still that was a long time ago. A year or so ago got my M7 but so far have no kit so have not yet experienced the delights of HF QRP . Hopefully one day ! 73s de Stu. M7EOS
Sounds good. Sadly my CW has totally escaped me as ive not used it for far too many years. I like the bar mat idea. Not HF but yesterday I took delivery of a new X-200N for VHF/UHF. I'm trying to get active again, as I've not been on air much for several years. de G4XVW.
New Ham and just recently made several contacts on 15 meter. Thanks for the tips, and great video.
Beautiful Kenwood, I am still enjoying my Ts870 purchased over 25 years ago!
Cheers for this Tony. Finding these videos a great refresher. Take care.

As a foundation license holder, I had some of my best contacts on 10w or less on 15m - both mobile and at home. 73 and thanks for the videos team :)
Top video.. a video on receivers would be good.. say a full run down of the icr 8600. Explain the band's. What we can and can't listen to etc
