Shock Jockey was practically a god send on my recent 1999 playthrough of the game. Left a whole bunch of shock traps and that was enough for me to deal with waves of Vox just coming after my ship.
Shock Jokey, Devil’s Kiss, and Murder of Crows are great Vigors. Undertow, Old Man Winter, and Peeping Tom are all great Vigors/Plasmids as well. I’ve hardly ever used Ironsides, I might have to try it again. Charge is another one I rarely used. Bucking Bronco and Possession I used sometimes, but not all the time.
1. Undertow melts Patriots, allows you to pull any enemy and push most of them out of the sky. I highly encourage it, especially during the dropship battle before you board Comstock's ship. 2. I highly encourage you to play Burial at Sea Episode 2 on the 1998 mode without the Peeping Tom, the excellent sound design and enemy patterns alone would be your best friend. Doing this alone helped me love both Burial at Sea and Minerva's Den equally. 3. Old Man Winter is very handy, especially on Episode 2 to freeze an enemy, smack them and you would be able to knock them out without any issue. It's also great in Episode 1, especially when you combine it with the Shotgun.
Thank you for the video, Erik! It's always interesting to see how other people approach combat. What I found most useful; 6. Murder of Crows 5. Devil's Kiss 4. Possession 3. Undertow 2. Bucking Bronco 1. Shock Jockey Playing on 1999 mode, I have found Return to Sender to be too situational (1v1). Devil's Kiss is great for dealing with boss fights, clustered groups, and turrets. Undertow is a godsend fighting the handymen and the Heavy RPG soldiers. Possession draws fire away from you (also great for dealing with RPG soldiers when they do themselves in at the end). Shock Jockey and Bucking bronco give you the breathing room you desperately need in a pinch to aim for the head, or recover tactically.
I always had a super hard time with that last airship battle, and I had no idea about that trick with Return to Sender! I should so try that on my next playthrough
My first playthrough I used Shock Jockey and Devil's Kiss as I was accustomed to using their equivalents in BS 1&2 but I have found that Bucking Bronco is really good, it has a low salt cost and it can put several swarming enemies up in the air, when up close a shotgun blast can kill several enemies at once. It also gives you some time for headshots to conserve ammo
I replayed Infinite only last week and honestly I regret not using return to sender in my last play through or even in most of this one. I played on a harder difficultly and found the final battle so tricky (alongside Lady Comstock) but as soon as I used the return to sender vigor, things became so much easier.
Return to sender is amazing on high difficulty especialy if you overwhelmed by a large group you don't even have to fire a bullet Also for the lady comstock fight it's very good because you avoid all damage while throwing all that damage back
I love vigors, it just gives them...this kinda personality, like how the bottles are made and stuff. I also love that the vigors have their own cutscenes, from when you drink it. And OH GOD I JUST LOVE VIGORS!!!
@@TheBioshockHub I think that might be too OP. Maybe a defensive vigor... when the battle is too intense, you could just use it to negate damage temporarily.
Charge is a must for me,with the right gear you're almost invincible. Lady comstock is despatched in 20 seconds on 1999 mode. Undertow is perfect for snipers, pull them in and murder easily.
I keep forgetting to combine Vigors and IMHO the Vigors have much cooler names then Plasmids... and the fact that Vigors don't turn you into a junkie. I can't give a list because each of us use Vigors different or in different situations. Though i should try that Devils Kiss idea for Lady Comstock. She made me pull my hair and aged me 10 years.
If you upgrade Charge it becomes really easy to beat Lady Comstock. Upgrade it for invincibility on hit and secondary explosions (similar to upgraded Devil's Kiss) and it doesn't take long to kill her.
The thing about Vigors and Plasmids, is that they all have their own playstyles that anyone can use. Possession is great for those wanting to deal with their foes with a bit of stealth. Devils Kiss and Murder Of Crows is great for when you want to cause a lot of damage in a small space. Shock Jockey and Undertow are great for those who love run-and-gun; plus electricity mixed with water is never a bad thing in video games.
I played the game almost basic pistol and mainly with the hook weapon since I equiped the stuff that gives u a speed boost after searching a body, and later on the vampire thing that heals u after a kill with that so I mainly used Charge since it also helped me restore health, return to sender cause it's incredibly good, murder of crow cause it's a beeter version of the insect swarm and the water thing to get far away enemies. But I did use alot posesion when I was finally able to afford both the upgrade and find it again cause it wasn't available for an entire chapter
Great video my friend I’ve only played through bioshock infinite one time through so I appreciate the information you give my friend I’ll defo give it a go when I play it a second time :)

murder of crows and bucking bronco for infantry enemies, charge for out of range snipers, undertow for melee kills, possession for help, and I guess the rest for boss battles. All in all great abilities 👍
Charge is very powerful. I destroy the Handyman and lady Comstock so easily. Combine it with blood for salts and brittle skin and I could clear rooms with that. I also love Undertow when I combo it with shock jockey. Set up some shock traps and pull a group of enemies into it. I like to combo bucking bronco or Undertow with charge.

@@TheBioshockHub I know! I don’t want them to rush tho, I want a perfect game. Kinda weird that Ken Levine isn’t working on it but I am happy that most of the team is from the original games.
I will give Infinite this. I used every single vigor almost equally! All of them had their uses, and I never felt like I settled in just one play style. The weapons however... haha it’s the opposite of BioShock 1
I just kept slamming Undertow, most of the game is really just floating platforms so giving you a power that lets you throw people over the edge so easily was very overpowered.

WTF? Return to sender is great for the final battel, but sucks cuz you get it late, and that's it. Possession is the GOAT Vigor of Bioshock infinite... Yes, it uses a lot of salts, but charging it at a group causes at least two to commit suicide almost immediately and one to become your temporary ally. It is literally the most useful Vigor in the game how the heck did it not get on this list. Possession all the time, Murder of Crows for Handymen, Shock Jockey for Patriots, then its a tie between Bucking Bronco and Devil's Kiss.

I get you it takes some practice, use the first function to push back groups of enemies or some hard hitters (like a zealot of the lady) hence getting them off your back and leaving them vulnerable (like sonic boom in the first game) Use the charged function to pull snipers or other enemies close to you. (this works well with the shotgun or heater because of the close range damage) alternatively i recommend using the charged function against handymen because it leaves their heart vulnerable for a few seconds. I hope this mini tutorial teaches you two things, one how to use undertow and, two how much i love it. I would also suggest an infinite video on gear, maybe a tier list or just a normal list?
