Darbari reminds me "Aparaadhamula Maanpi"/Thyagarajaswmy - sung MAHARAJAPURAM SANTHANAM!! This Thyagaraja Kriti - Mundu Venuka Iru Prakkala not listened in the immediate past..Its so monumental while heard by me. . But another Dharbari kriti.... "saure vitara kusalam", very the rarely heard but wondeful Darbar composition of Maharaja Swatithirunal, sung by Late maestro RK Srikantan, I remember !!! Here the Thyagaraja kriti is presented so melodiously by maestro Srikantan. I should say here that Darbar, adopted from Hindustani, a 'vakra ragam' derived from the 22 Mela. 'Kharaharapriya' is devoid of G in Arohanam n has unique notes with N2 G2 G2 in the Avarohanam..: Ṡ N₂ D₂ P M₁ R₂ G₂ G₂ R₂ S....reminded of "SARASADALANAYANE AMBIKE " Divine composition of G Hari Sundareswara Sarma on the deity Goddess at Kolhapur..listened long back the rendition by a good Vocalist (Late) Trichy S Ganesan who was with AIR, Madurai as an instrumentalist and vocalist for 25 + years…
