Hi Joel , I've been making wine exactly to your recipe and it is exceptional . My question is : if I make 5 gallons , do I use 5 x the ingredients ? I have acquired a 5 gallon brewing bucket and I'm keen to try it out . Regards

how long does it last though? I assumed it would go off after being bottled

Is that the southern Morrisons? Grape, apple and raspberry sounds a tad too posh. Don't think they'll bother getting it in round here.

I used to regularly use concentrated Ribena juice, it goes further and is cheap. It needs simmered for around 15 minutes or so or apparently' it won't ferment.
They must put something in it to prevent it from fermenting, I can't remember as this was around 30 years ago.
I left it (all the wine I made) in the demijohn until 100% clear before bottling, this could take up to 3 to 6 months, always left in the dark too.
The nicest wine (more like a Port) took 6 years to clear. well, I gave up checking after 3 or 4 years tbh...a plum wine with super strong 17% yeast; amazing flavour!
I used to make wine in those 5 gallon containers as well as demijohns...beer too; now I rarely drink and drink little...I had enough 'fun' 🤣Oh' now I prefer the odd cup of Irish coffee and/or Irish cream, too much is sickening...I like that, it's like having brakes on a vehicle, it's easier to stop; I can't stand hangovers.

Sounds like you should crack out the demijohns again!

Pure grape juice is £2.80 per cartoon in Tescos ATM, cheaper to just buy wine lol!

@@rockhopper5679 worked it out it helps keep the flavour of te juice, got gallons of produce here now haha, also I put a cup of tea with 3 tea bags in it for tannins, since I use cranberry and orange and not grapes where I would usually get the tannins - also for flavour

Is there a reason why some don't boil the water and the sugar? I had thought everything was supposed to be sterile. Thanks, I am going to try it this week.

I tried one with pomegranate which did not work so well. I’ve only really used a combination of grape/apple juice as it works so well!
