My father was driving in Himalayan routes for 35 years.... With not a single accident record.. he is no more now... Because of cancer... But he is brave lion for me... I miss him while watching this ...
May he rest in peace. #HugYou
Great

Kya wo heavy vehicle drive karte the ?
Our hearts are with your father whose life was an adventure each day for 35 years. Those mighty eternal mountains blessed him to be one among them for such a long time maneuvering through the terrifying but extremely beautiful highs, bends, valleys and streams.
My father is also in HRTC. He spent 17 Years in Keylong Depot & spent 8 years on Leh-Delhi Route which is the longest route of HRTC
Proud of our all drivers & conductors.
How much time bus take from delhi to leh. And what is ticket rate.
I am Maharashtrian but i would like to travel on this route in future if possible.
I am amazed with the beauty of himachal, its like a heaven on earth.
Rohit
40-45 hours excluding stoppage points such as hotels, traffic jams,One night at keylong.
fare is between 1200-1300 one side.
Is it possible to drive through car on this way?
Rohit
depends on your driving skills.
the roads are really difficult to drive, water through roads. lots of mud everywhere. sharp curves.
check out the road from manali to leh in any youtube video.
but if you prefer reaching there quick, you should bring your own vehicle. & there's no point traveling leh in a swift or any small car. you'll suffer a lot of damage on the bottom. & if bychance there's a breakdown of your car, there are no mechanics nearby. the mechanic needs to be brought from Kullu, you'll need to pay his taxi charges too.
Seeing the rush here, there's a little chance you'll get a mechanic on board with travelling that long just to repair your vehicle. he'll demand a hefty amount.
travel only if you have a high ground clearance vehicle.
Enfields are the best if you want to reach quick. because you'll be obviously stuck in the Jam for at least 5-6 hours at rohtang or Madhi if you travel by a four wheeler.
bikes get through the traffic easily but again driving skills. you can't ride there if you are rookie.
Contact me if you need bikes through rent. 94598-86849 via what'sApp.
or if there's any other query. ill be happy to answer.
till manali you can get a volvo. after that I'll arrange a two wheeler for you.
Now I understand why people write names of gods on vehicles
Hahaha! True!
Thanks a lot for watching Arthur!

Let's get this straight these are outdated buses with no abs, power steering, no traction control, no limited slip differential, no modern air suspension and etc etc. Still these drivers successfully carry on their driving with their experience and guts. May God bless them.
Also the roads have not been constructed well. This is the result of 70 years of rule of Gandhi family .
@@sumitgupta-uf4hq you do know in the last 20 years BJP has ruled for 12 ? still no changes, so its not just about Gandhi family. Apne politician chor hai jesi janta chor hai
So true. God bless the drivers .. so skillful & calm & brave
The outdated buses are the best for these kinds of roads. You have to leave it to the driver to decide the maneuvering. Traction control and other balancing technologies will led to more accidents as microprocessors in these technologies cannot make all the right decisions in these conditions. Leave it the cool headed and brake heart driver to get you through. My salutations to the drivers, conductors and all employees of HRTC.

It’s really commendable that they are away from home for so long and working in such challenging environments and still focus on their jobs without any errors. Hail HRTC.

I don't understand why is such a huge Bus is choose by the state government for these roads, the roads are so narrow. They are risking their lives as well as lives of passengers. They can opt for smaller buses with lesser width. These buses have a width of 2.5 to 2.6meters , where as normal cars have a width of 1.7meters (1.8 meters is width of SUV) .. The smaller buses like the tata starbus Macropolo city buses with seating capacity of 24-32 and the bus width is 2.0 to 2.1 meters. The difference might sound much less compared to bigger buses but the difference of 40 cms (more than a foot) can play a vital role in maneuvering in such roads. The vehicles can pass with ease which are coming from opposite direction and the bus doesn't have to go the very edge of the road to give a pass. The smaller buses have lower center of gravity and more stable. Their length is lesser so it would be easy for drivers especially in those hair pin turns in the valley.
Thanks a lot for watching Sidharth!
The new buses are even wider. :D
Actually these buses are very rugged for the kind of roads they run on. The smaller busses are not able to take the wear and tear. Also, these are all long route busses and not local busses. Spiti does not have its own depot, so busses from Keylong and Kinnaur give local services.
I hope the government takes your suggestions and it'll be helpful for everyone. :)
Do share and subscribe :)
The government should put up tender for specially designed buses for these kinds of roads and encourage Tata / Ashok leyland motors to manufacture specials buses with lesser width but heavily reinforced chassis
like the same way as they are manufacturing trucks for Army like the Ashok Leyland Stallion which is a regular truck but heavily reinforced chassis and suspension and the four wheel drive.
better said than done already hrtc is in loss and we are poor govt cann ot afford luxuries like this, but er are happy with what we got
I was in HP for 13 years. I was born there. Trust me, we locals felt the safest while travelling by bus. It was either travelling on foot or through these buses(Never ever in a car unless very important). These bus drivers are extremely talented on such roads. Most of the areas in HP are isolated and drivers understand these semi old buses(these buses are not that old). New buses do run but on more prominent routes. The sound of bus engine struggling in twisted uphills is still pretty clear in my mind (80km route from dalhousie to pathankot took around 4 hrs). Don't worry, no body is in danger. Updating buses on such routes should be the last thing on government's list.
small buses will break down easily on these roads..... and with passengers it won't be able to climb those mountains. !

I was born in Shillong and I know how treacherous mountain roads are. Every trip from Shillong to Guwahati and back on the famous GS Road used to scare me as a kid. Now that highway is 4 lane. When I was a kid, that highway used to be super narrow. I remember how the wheels of the bus would almost slip out on every hairpin turn, the burning smell of metal and rubber, the tense silence in the bus, and the weaker ones dirtying the walls of the bus. But despite all this I love the mountains 😊😊😊, they feel like home. Thanks for uploading this. Liked and subscribed 👍 👍👍

Can we get some likes for Border Road Organization for this amazing work?
This is not a great quality road.. We need to ask the Govt why they cant build all-weather roads (just in the hilly regions of North & NE India)? Canada & Finland build roads under freezing conditions.. Swiss build roads in very similar topography.. We just need to borrow the technology (& that too for very small parts of India)..

At night, we were Bilaspur
I just wakeup to adjust myself on seat.

This is so courages job. Humbly these drivers are serving the society. Not even one moment of casualness in their job. Not even one second. May God bless them for doing this work with so much high dedication. Myself was on edge throughout the video, epic courage

Yup! Raising money to get one. We are broke!
Try Aliexpress. They have affordable drones.
You definitely need a drone to truly capture Himachal and the Himalayas
And no one has done it yet (probably)

Proud to be a Himachali. Amazing thing captured.
Pahadis(Himachali/uttarakhandi) are the most courageous, hard working and the most gentle persons of India.... They never complain for anything, they just accept the challenges and survive in all odd situations... And obviously most beautiful they are....
