I got a recent text "hey, thanks for doing dinner! where can I send you money for my part?" I got another text addressing me by an incorrect name. "Hey Jane! What time are we supposed to be there tonight?" Looks like an innocent request, and you wouldn't want someone to be late... so they want you to say "wrong number" or whatever, but again, any response confirms that they have a real phone number, and that is where it begins. JUST DELETE!

My golden rule, simply delete the text.
If the number is not in my contact, it is very likely SPAM. They have said this thousands of times people.
