I have had very good luck selling items on Facebook Marketplace - the scammers are pretty obvious when they start playing games like this, I just move on.

It's very simple. Tell the buyer cash only when you pick up. Don't ever give your phone number to a stranger.

A Warning of another scam that has been used is people who ask you to deliver because they do not have a car, or their car is broken down, etc. They refuse to meet you somewhere safe. They usually give you directions to a large apartment complex, where they say they will meet you outside.You get there, and they rob you. Putting "WILL NOT DELIVER." in your ads. These dangerous scammers are also posting on the buy nothing groups as a young woman with a baby who just got a new apartment and has nothing, and will ask you to deliver items to them.

It's a preset response to listings. If your interested in an item and you click "message seller" unless you write a custom message then they get "is this item still available" automated response. What are they gonna do with my phone # anyways? 😭 Definitely don't share any videos with anyone tho u rite about that one part

why doesn't anyone EVER suspect or even question if Facebook and Google are involved or even behind these scams? I've personally been funneled to fake employment sites by Google many times , one time it was Target , called them asked is this legit? they're like no were not even hiring, i say they have your official logo , and tried to get my bank account number , they're like we dont care ,..yeah Google would never screw anyone, and Facebook is run by a lizard boy , almost like these companies have permission from the government to screw us , that couldn't be true ,....or could it? 🤔

I wonder if eSIMS are in any way safer than physical SIMs…..probably not. Also, seems like turning off 2FA for banking apps until they figure out something better might be the way to go. I guess it’s time for providers to require in person meeting to get new SIM card for now….Over the phone isn’t safe at all…

Curious why we are getting QR codes with personal items (ie prescriptions) , & how much information is on them.

My passwords are so secure, I forget them. I tend not to do any financial transferring via the internet. Much prefer a landline.

Cell phone companies/providers are at fault by changing sim to the scammer! I’d sue them for any loss if they willingly gave away my protection while I trust them to protect me in good faith! They are responsible!!! They are not supposed to help the scammer to rob their clients!!! 😡😠😤🙄

I’m a senior who used to work as a software engineer. I had to reread and rewatch basic technical videos a few times to learn things. So did the founders of Google, Facebook, etc. Rewatch this one a few times to understand what to do. Most of my job was to follow instructions. There’s no great intellect or special gifts in my brain about tech.

Cash on collection is the only true safe payment method. If you use paypal goods and services the scamner just says they didn't get it and gets their money back. I had a number of scammers contact me recently. They lived thousands of miles away so collection was not practical.

I did the outlook 2 verification and my email was locked if I didn't pay $150.00 to get in. I went though many many hours and days to get back in my outlook email account.

Oh I agree with almost everything you posted. I kind of disagree about exchanging phone numbers. Well yes that could be used against you to have somebody text you a code, the simple response for that would be do not ever accept text messages from sellers or buyers that asked for anything other than maybe the items location. If you have another way to possibly check on the validity of an item or how to go purchase said item without using a phone number or other contact information, I would like to know what that might be. Simply setting up an exchange point is not usually very acceptable. So while I agree with 95% of what you said, because there are a lot of horrible scammers out there, I do think you need to be able to exchange phone numbers but do so in a safe way. Thanks

Man it's all a scam most of the time I stopped after I try to get a motor from a guy a boat motor from a guy down in Portland set it up we are all set I'll get ready to drive down there so I want to give him a call let him know we are headed down that way and all of a sudden I'm blocked now now I can't get a hold to him at all you know there's some real pieces of shit on Facebook marketplace there really is just literally pieces a shit

The solution is to stop being a pathetic cell phone addict and throw away your cell phone and never be so gullible to be seduced to buy another one. Life is better without cell phones.
