@@charlesarizona They have hundreds of "servings" under their belts. Although even at the start they were quite calm on stage. Just yesterday I watched again that Gold Rush interview, in which they include the bits and pieces from their 2016 show in Seatle. Just look how happy is Saiki there! They all feel very confident on stage. Actually, they feed on the crowd... while crowd feeds on them!
Well... I was MISA's fan at the moment, but it seemed unjust for me to concentrate on her only. When Saiki was singing with all her soul, or Kanami was shredding, I felt I should switch to them. MISA was incredible, of course. The only problem was that she would not fit entirely into the frame :-) I was nervous all the time: what should I catch, her guitar, her face, her feet... :-)
@@VladimirChupin I feel your pain. I would be torn. Though I love and respect the band and ALL of the members, and want to see all of them, I am forced to admit that it would have been very difficult for me to do anything but watch Misa. She's my "It" girl. Truth is, we needed five of you at the show capturing it all for us! And for the record, every part of Misa that you caught was wonderful. Thanks again for sharing!
Did anyone notice on 7:10 ?? Akane dropped her left stick and she instantly swapped with the right, then took the new one using her right hand. So much calm..
Yes, it's there. Her Instagram has a heading "I love alcohol," and during the live shows, she makes a point of drinking it on display. I understand it's her gimmick as a member of the band, but to me, a frightening one. You'd better not flirt with drugs, that's for sure... Usually musicians understand it later in their career, and stop it. I pray that her health does not suffer because of that...
At 2:15 after MISA and Kanami had visited her she seems to have lost the right stick and had to pick it up again from the floor. Maybe both were successful one time to mess her up. On the other hand Akane had trouble with something down at the drums the entire concert, so she might be not full concentrated. BUT SHE DIDN`T MISS A BEAT!
I played a Fender Twin 100 W with two Lansing Speakers for some years, but I didn´t like the Sound especially the Distortion. For me it was too clean and too hard. My Blues hero Freddie King played a Twin with his Gibson ES 335, and a friend of mine with a similar guitar for jazz-rock and fusion, later bought a Roland 120. I sold my Twin and bought a 50 W Mesa/Boogie and I never did regret that. It´s a little amp but very powerful with a warm tone, that fits well with my guitars. It doesn´t matter if it is my black 1973 Ibanez Les Paul, Gibson Firebird or my Korea-Strat.Nice to see, that Kanami also uses Mesa/Boogie...very good choice. He is very solid. I play my Mesa for nearly 30 years without any defect.
On the Line Cube Shibuya interview, they have had this talk: Misa: Are you going to use all of these picks? (Picks for electric guitar: eight pieces, for acoustic guitar: two pieces, they were attached on the mic stand). Miku: I don't use that much. Misa: I only asked. Saiki: Why do you attach that much? Miku: I don't know the reason. But the number increased.
Well... "That thing in her" is her gift of entertainment. Kobato-san really CAN talk! But to be a rock star, you can be any type of personality. Even like MISA, who never speaks on stage... Well, unless she's pressed by Miku really hard 😅
SO good to have video that doesn't swap between each lady every 2-3 seconds. I could actually watch them play & hear exactly what they are playing. What did you record with Phone or camera?
It was a phone, Huawei P20 Pro. Brand new at the time, but already with a cracked glass at the B/W camera 😜 It's not really noticeable in the videos, though. Maybe only some extra glare when the headlights shine straight into the lens. The big pro cameras are not allowed at such concerts. So, the only option is to have a good phone. If you want to know which ones are good, you may check the rating here: www.dxomark.com/smartphones/#sort-audio/device- Naturally, I want my next phone to be Black Shark 5 Pro, it has the best audio recording properties. I hope I'll be able to buy it before coming to the US this October. I would actually buy Honor Magic4 Ultimate. it has the best camera. Audio features are not rated, but it's almost certain they are much better than in the old Huawei P20 Pro I used to record the concerts all these years. But Huawei is under sanctions from the US government, and it would not be very comfortable to use it without Google Services, I believe.
Also, if you want a stable recording, use a selfie stick. If you hold the phone with your hands, it will be really difficult to hold it high for two hours non-stop. Also, a selfie stick allows you to hold the phone above the level where the fists in the air would obscure the stage view.
Ray Spruce Akane paused for a snack too and still killed it! A true rock band. That says it all. Vladimir Chupin On 6:55, yes. She puts something in her mouth, gets back to drumming, and loses her stick :-)
I was on MISA's side, and the sound coming from the MISA's and MIKU's monitors was louder. SAIKI and KANAMI were farther, and they were not heard that well. Sorry. But that's inevitable in such cases. The proper place, of course, is to stand in the middle, equally removed from all monitors, but I did not know it then. It was my first live concert, which I was recording. Now I know that the best place to stand at is in front of some general loudspeaker, where all channels are mixed equally, like it happened in Hamburg.
@@VladimirChupin I see, it makes sense if every speaker uses stereo sound instead of mono sound. So I guess is normal to hear one instruments louder than others.
I stood in the middle of the crowd. Some guys were dancing Pogo, that was a bit disturbing, but maybe interesting for the band to see that. The sound was well balanced by the PA. Could have been louder for me, so in Bochum this June, but then in Hamburg I got the total boom, was sopping wet, slightly deaf and awfully happy.
Not that close 😂 The phone makes it look closer than in reality. In Hamburg 2019, though, I could touch Kanami, she was really an arm's stretch from me. Saiki too.
My camera was getting it too close. I stood in the front (second row, actually), thinking that I'll have a better field of view for the camera, but it turned out that I was too close. MISA did not fit into the frame from head to toe most of the time...
Yes, she was losing them a few times, actually. Nobody noticed, she was still drumming without any glitches. And she was eating something in those short breaks, by the way. That's probably why she was distracted and lost a stick 😅
@@VladimirChupin In Amsterdam she seemed to have a constant problem with the foot pedal(s) or someting else on the floor, as often as she looked down. After more than one and a half year I´m stil curious.
@@VladimirChupin This afternoon I once again watched the whole Amsterdam concert, and it arouses much deeper feelings such as Bochum and Hamburg. Nagoya felt similar high emotionally because it was another "first time" for me.
@@joki5346 I think these fancams are meaningful mostly for those who were at this particular concert, yes 😊 For example, I don't really dig the US fancam recordings, because I was not there. I listen to some of them, mainly those with "Don't be long" instrumental, because those are unique things. But for the most part I can't really enjoy them.
For the whole body, actually. But it's not so great, because that thing is damn heavy. MISA is very strong to carry that axe on her for hours like this.
Now I understand why their live performances of DICE and Domination is not as good as their other ones especially the vocals. It's because it's one of their last songs so it's understandable that they must be a bit exhausted.
I've watched the other uploads of this guy and he actually has better quality compared to others. And the others songs sounded much better and vocalist was hitting the notes perfectly. Here the vocalist was clearly starting to get tired.
They did not look and sound tired at the first glance, but now as I watch these videos over and over, I tend to agree with you. It must have been an exhausting trip for them. So many concerts in such a short time... A missed flight, then sleeping in a bus while moving from country to country... No doubt they should have been a bit dizzy.
Domination was the first and Dice the 9th song of twenty. Maybe they were not in best condition for they arrived from Helsinki in the afternoon, made soundcheck and changing clothes with only little time to relax. For me the last songs ( You, Freedom, Real Existance and Choose Me ) are still energetic. Band and audience pushed each other, we were a respectful and enthusiastic crowd.
*Misa Carries This Band* The more you listen to live shows, the more you hear that Misa does all of the heavy lifting for Band-Maid. She is both bassist and rhythm guitarist, essentially. Tōno is interesting at times. But Misa is really this band.
MISA MISA MISA!!! She was my initial crash in BAND-MAID. I really appreciated Kanami only in Hamburg, after I was an arm's length from her for two hours. She actually prefers to be on the background, but BAND-MAID is like 70% Kanami's band, I would dare to say.
I agree regarding live shows, that MISA can not be replaced, musically. Without Kanami the songs would never exist, but you could find another guitarist who does her "parts" on stage. Same with Akane, though that would be more challenging. But MISA is the most unique instrumentalist and most impossible to substitute, IMO. But I am only referring musicianship. All members are essential to be BAND MAID.
@@TwinTailSteve It's all about chemistry. BAND-MAID is pretty much like Led Zeppelin: take one piece out, and the whole puzzle will fall apart. When people start discussing, like, whether and who in BAND-MAID could play in Kami Band, I'm always shocked. BAND-MAID cannot be Kami Band, but Kami Band also cannot be BAND-MAID. I was thinking about some possible replacements in the case someone would get sick. But we see that BAND-MAID never used this approach. If MISA was sick, they held a show without her, not trying to find anyone who would play her part. It could be fun, actually, if they would take some kids as such replacement. Sora could be a replacement drummer, and Haru from Accent could play bass. HAL-CA could replace Kanami, but she's not a kid anymore...
@@VladimirChupin Hopefully they continue creating new songs for many many years. These are prime years, matured, they have their process dialed in. I think Kanami has many more ideas in store. And I hope there will be many bands that cover their music, the songs are classics, and can be played well in different forms.
@@TwinTailSteve Band-Maid existed without Kanami songs for a long time. Nearly half of their catalog was written by professional song writers (33 vs 36 as of Unseen World). Kobato is a freeloader. She is inessential. Through social media, I discovered Aldious. Having watched two of their songs, which were good, UA-cam kept pushing Band-Maid. So I watched the "Non-Fiction Days," which was my first, followed by "Thrill." Like most, I was caught up because I had not heard new music in a long time, like years or more less. The maid costumes and thigh highs helped much. What Band-Maid did though was make me check out Japanese all-girls rock and then Japanese rock in general. Quickly, I discovered that almost every all-girls band from Japan were better in every way to Band-Maid, better songs, better musicians, even at bass and drums. Tōno is an OK guitarist as Atsumi is an OK singer. Easily Saki or Hazuki from Nemophila could play Tōno's parts but Tōno would struggle covering Nemophila songs. And that could be said for Bridear and their guitarists and Lovebites and theirs and so on. Having listened to nearly every girls' act going back to Show-Ya, it is clear that Akane is good but not among the best nor is MISA great by comparison. More so, there are world-class Japanese guitarists and they're all male. Kikyo Oikawa, Isao Nakayama and Norifumi Shima come to mind right away. There are co-ed bands fronted by singers that actually can sing hard rock such as Marina Hebishi of Mardelas and Hina of Cerveteri. The worst bit is that Miku Kobato. I have read interviews where we has claimed that girls could not rock and could not play instruments before her and Band-Maid came along. Meanwhile, Kobato could not play even one chord on a guitar for years during Band-Maid even though she wore one and later they taught her some one finger dyads in drop D tuning so she could half play. Li-sa-X is nearly world-class and can play circles around Tōno and Kobato. Girls have been rocking in Japan since Show-Ya. Miki "Sun-go" Igarashi is a much better guitarist than Tōno and Show-Ya's music rocked much more than Band-Maid. The worst bit about Band-Maid is when you discover they are a giant corporate product, owned by major media empire Fujisankei, which pushes Band-Maid endlessly on their radio network (Nippon radio) and TV network (Fuji) including through anime shows they broadcast. Meanwhile, Aldious was a self-financed band that caused the renaissance in all-girls rock. But even before them were Destrose and Anarchy Stone. Band-Maid end up being the least interesting band in Japanese rock, all-female, all-male or co-ed. I am thankful though because Band-Maid were the catalyst to discover Japanese rock. I had known about Loudness but never listened to them. Their mid 1980s music was fantastic as were their contemporaries, Anthem. Concerto Moon in the 1990s were stellar too. The Japanese rock scene is the hottest on earth and has been since the late 2000s. And the all-girls Korean scene is coming up with bands like DIH whose guitarist, Sena, slays Tōno and Rolling Quartz. a DIH live show: ua-cam.com/video/kJLXPmKknwk/v-deo.html a DIH MV ua-cam.com/video/TIlXGImsMRo/v-deo.html There are decent rock bands out of the Philippines too. Akane and MISA already were pro musicians when they joined Band-Maid. They did not need to work at it. They could do it from Day One. Tōno was an acoustic playing lounge singer. She had to learn to rock. She can not improvise. That is a huge strike against her. Everything is memorized note-for-note for live shows. Saiki was a signed back up pop singer working for the same talent agency as Kobato. The agency put Saiki on the Band-Maid job when it was clear that Kobato could not front a band. Saiki can sing pop. She is not very powerful for rock. She is disconnected from the music. She is not passionate. Kobato is a fake musician, a fake guitarist, a fake singer and horrible female for denigrating many female bands who have played their way to where they are without gimmicks and a big corporate daddy. It makes one wonder how many corporate guys Kobato slept with to get where she is.
I love those bass lines, Misa is incredible

Going to the Echoplex in LA on September 30th to see my favorite hard rock band. I cannot wait. To say l am impressed with these wonderful ladies is an understatement. Viva Band-Maid.
Please do some good recording there :-)
I'm going the 2nd day on the 1st!
Pure raw talent
Awesome
Rocking here in NZ
misa ... i love you !!
7:00-> Akane tries to drink water and make the next drum beat..but it doesn't work.....at 7:11 she sends her left hand drumstick out on to the stage, then grabs the 'emergency back-up' drumstick on top of her bass drum .......po............
At 6:55 she reached for some cookie, I think. Shoved it into her mouth, and immediately lost her drumstick :-)
@@VladimirChupin I've hardly ever seen a band with such an absence of stage nerves. Their confidence is amazing.
Actually, they feed on the crowd... while crowd feeds on them!
iiiii.....lov it😁
This video will be used for MISA story of one of the best basist ever. 🤩
Sweet mother of Jesus!.... These girls are so much fun!!
Saiki is dominating that crowd!!
heres hoping they'll come to the midwest usa, would be great . but i highly doubt they will
I love Band-Maid, but honestly, if this was a video of Misa only, I'd be super happy.
Many people noticed, yes 😉
8 hours a day practice and you too can play like Miku.
And that's the amount of dedication and determination of one little pigeon
Never underestimate the power of one small pigeon po! 🕊🎸🤘
This live version is lit. ! Need to use a good ear phones to appreciate the high audio quality.
Great performance from a great band! Anyone spot the bottle of Jameson on Misa's amp?
Yes, it's there. Her Instagram has a heading "I love alcohol," and during the live shows, she makes a point of drinking it on display. I understand it's her gimmick as a member of the band, but to me, a frightening one. You'd better not flirt with drugs, that's for sure... Usually musicians understand it later in their career, and stop it. I pray that her health does not suffer because of that...
Miku is a total rock star
Absolutely!
WOW!! @ 7:10 you can see Akane losing 1 of the sticks and she just picked up a new one and kept playing without missing a single beat
At 6:55 she reached for a cookie, I think. Shoved it into her mouth, and immediately lost her drumstick :-)
@@VladimirChupin yeah, but that was a short free moment she had
At 2:15 after MISA and Kanami had visited her she seems to have lost the right stick and had to pick it up again from the floor. Maybe both were successful one time to mess her up. On the other hand Akane had trouble with something down at the drums the entire concert, so she might be not full concentrated. BUT SHE DIDN`T MISS A BEAT!
Misa nailed it! (while wearing no shoes)
Does Misa have a bottle of Jameson on her amp?? rock and roll!!
Off course, that's her life for, music and alcohol.
Let's pray that her health does not suffer...
Miku sounds a LOT better through that Marshall half stack than she did through the Fender twin reverb for the US shows.
Akane drops the Drum-stick and that's what you can enjoy in a Live Show.
Because she was eating something 😂
1:07 Miku start using picks. Wow that micstand that holds 3 different picks is so convenient. I want that!!
On the Line Cube Shibuya interview, they have had this talk:
Misa: Are you going to use all of these picks? (Picks for electric guitar: eight pieces, for acoustic guitar: two pieces, they were attached on the mic stand).
Miku: I don't use that much.
Misa: I only asked.
Saiki: Why do you attach that much?
Miku: I don't know the reason. But the number increased.
Oh, they have continued later:
Akane: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, - - -.
Saiki: About eight or more.
Miku: Stop counting.
She dropped the pick and got another
Quality
Thanks!
Yes, it all turned out very well in the end. The phone handled it well, the loudspeaker was close by...
Theme for 2019 is gekido ( turbulance) go Band Maid
I'm looking forward with great excitement, what The Year Of Turbulence will bring... No doubt, we'll see a lot of cool stuff from the maids...
Thats for sure ,,we know those girls knows what they do
👍👍👍👍👍👍
wana scream i am proud fans mikuuuuu.......ignore the haters........ flappy pigeon flying high.............
Miku is such a rock star... they all are but Miku has that thing in her.
Well... "That thing in her" is her gift of entertainment. Kobato-san really CAN talk!
But to be a rock star, you can be any type of personality. Even like MISA, who never speaks on stage... Well, unless she's pressed by Miku really hard 😅
@@VladimirChupin she's just a well rounded entertainer
SO good to have video that doesn't swap between each lady every 2-3 seconds. I could actually watch them play & hear exactly what they are playing.
What did you record with Phone or camera?
It was a phone, Huawei P20 Pro. Brand new at the time, but already with a cracked glass at the B/W camera 😜 It's not really noticeable in the videos, though. Maybe only some extra glare when the headlights shine straight into the lens.
The big pro cameras are not allowed at such concerts. So, the only option is to have a good phone. If you want to know which ones are good, you may check the rating here: www.dxomark.com/smartphones/#sort-audio/device-
Naturally, I want my next phone to be Black Shark 5 Pro, it has the best audio recording properties.
I want to get on stage and Rock with them. I hope I could hang with them, I play a mean Cowbell.
...and I join with a triangle.

Akane paused for a snack too and still killed it! A true rock band. That says it all.
Vladimir Chupin
On 6:55, yes. She puts something in her mouth, gets back to drumming, and loses her stick :-)
@@VladimirChupin When I first looked at it I thought her stick broke and hit her in the mouth/teeth.
@@patron40silver She's eating 😂 And MISA is laughing at her 🤣
Is it me or the audio of the instruments was very low?, maybe the sound technician should have test the speakers before the concert.
@7:10 Akane dropped her drumstick after having some water.
@Peter She clearly dropped @7:10....you can see it rolling on the floor....this was just after snagging that snack too
And Miku dropped or just wanted to change pick at 1:05
Hyper miku
Jameson?????
Yes.
Check the link to the originals in the description. There are some photos there as well, where you can see it more clearly.
Damn look the difference of Miku's pick vs Misa's
Like guitar like pick 😂
@@VladimirChupin and their actual size 😄. Along side of Misa, Miku without those hi heels she would look really small.
Wow! I could touch Misa's arms!
Not that close 😂 The phone makes it look closer than in reality.
In Hamburg 2019, though, I could touch Kanami, she was really an arm's stretch from me. Saiki too.
ooops ! 1:06 plectrum lost
最後のほうアカネ途中に何か床から拾って食べてる。やっぱお腹減るんだねぇ!
そしてその後、私もドラムスティックを失いました。
4:19 to 4:28 is WAY TOO MUCH MISA! ! ! .........po.............
My camera was getting it too close. I stood in the front (second row, actually), thinking that I'll have a better field of view for the camera, but it turned out that I was too close. MISA did not fit into the frame from head to toe most of the time...
7:09 oops, lose a rod! no problem!
@@joki5346 Yes, there was definitely some problem with her hardware. Daisuke-san was helping her as well, adjusting something there.
Playing bass on stage must be great for the legs..... just sayin.
For the whole body, actually. But it's not so great, because that thing is damn heavy. MISA is very strong to carry that axe on her for hours like this.
Are other bands even trying??
No matter who you are
No matter what you do
There's always a girl in Japan in maid outfits
Who does it better
🤣😍🤘
Now I understand why their live performances of DICE and Domination is not as good as their other ones especially the vocals. It's because it's one of their last songs so it's understandable that they must be a bit exhausted.
I've watched the other uploads of this guy and he actually has better quality compared to others. And the others songs sounded much better and vocalist was hitting the notes perfectly. Here the vocalist was clearly starting to get tired.
Correct. It's why you can never judge a band's sound from phone recordings. They typically suck.@Peter
Xynic is right. True you can't judge by phone recordings, but they sound much better in Vladimir's other videos.

*Misa Carries This Band*
The more you listen to live shows, the more you hear that Misa does all of the heavy lifting for Band-Maid.
So I watched the "Non-Fiction Days," which was my first, followed by "Thrill."
Like most, I was caught up because I had not heard new music in a long time, like years or more less.
And the all-girls Korean scene is coming up with bands like DIH whose guitarist, Sena, slays Tōno and Rolling Quartz.
a DIH live show: ua-cam.com/video/kJLXPmKknwk/v-deo.html
a DIH MV ua-cam.com/video/TIlXGImsMRo/v-deo.html
There are decent rock bands out of the Philippines too.
