Oh I know about this! Fun fact, Australian national parks are a misnomer, they’re more like state parks in the sense that they’re administered by the states (sorta like Redwood National and State Parks in California but with less federal involvement). So based on the international definition of national parks that are federally administered Australia has 6 (Uluru, Kakadu, Christmas Island and I forgot the other ones).
honestly i dont know what i would do without this channel in my life
I've been waiting for this one!
So excited to see my hometown.
The best geography teacher I've ever had! 😊❤
I love Canberra (lived there for 4 years), but I wouldn’t describe it as ‘lush’. Loved the video by the way…
I live in Canberra and was so excited to see this!
Namadgi is pronounced Na-mad-jee, I feel like its a very Australian sounding word, especially with how the 'a' sounds are pronounced. First Nations People is the politically correct term :)
I love Canberra, having so much nature around is delightful and it is quite a progressive city. The multicultural festival that you mentioned is really lovely too.
Been waiting for this one!
You probably wouldn’t recognise old Australian cars, but the National Museum has some of the oldest Holden models, a legendary Australian brand we sadly lost a few years ago.
I’ve never been affected by a bushfire, thankfully. But, I have been to a few places shortly after one. You sometimes get these weird combinations of lovely green grass and bushes that have grown back, but the trees are still all burnt-looking.
And… if you have never heard the sound koalas make, they are absolutely terrifying.
Also, the way you say emu makes me laugh. I know it’s just the typical difference with the American accent, but we say eem-you, not ee-moo. But, you probably know that.
Thank you🦋
I'm not sure if you talk about this in the video, but you can actually rent out areas of Parliament House to host events, and it's one of the only parliaments in the world that does this.
I appreciate the intro being dead silent tbh
Emu is actually pronounced eemyoo, not eemoo. A lot of people from outside of Australia make this mistake, so I can see why you would too lol
I live about 200km/125 miles from Canberra. It's a great part of the country, but Canberra has too many public servants. 🤣
Your pronunciations are pretty good! Great job. 😊
