Good choice, and I hope it wasn’t too windy. I wasn’t planning on heading to Dittisham, I wanted to go on a calm day so you could hear the locomotive and whistles echo up the valley, however, it was out of wind.
What with all the complaints about the railways and the costs and all the rest of it we're surely fortunate that we can still ride behind classic locos on the main line.
This was filmed during Storm Antoni. I think it’s worth noting that I was on the South coast and the storm was more prominent in the north west. This is why it is not choppy at Dawlish. Nonetheless it was still gusting up to 50mph.
I love see these engines steam going along.
Great filming in those conditions! I wanted to do Kingswear for the return but decided in the end to go to Greenway and Torre!

@@steamtothewest-trecanrailJust about kept out the wind where I was! The Dittisham shot is a cracker, as you say would be perfect on a calm day!
great video, do you know when it goes to the turntables?
Approx 1 hour before scheduled leave time.

Gale force winds and a flat calm sea ?
Wind hit during the day, also, North-Westerly wind on a southern sea
