@@Myersmetalworks your crank handle.. you’ve made that from an old harmonic balancer with sone steel pipe??? I think I’ll be making one also .. great work
Thanks Steve.... Its been very handy to have.... I think I used some steel 3/4 rod I had around and just welded it to the balancer hub.... Or you could brazz them on... I opened up the bore a little to slip on and off easy... Sand paper roll and a die grinder...
Yes... I have used them and they are nice.... Just alot of different bore sizes out there... I dont build engines for a living just fun.. So dont have all the best tools... But thanks for the info...👍
Where did you get that red and black crank shaft turning tool? Have you ever had an issue after you got all the Pistons in, The crankshaft feels locked up? I'm rebuilding a 454 right now, and I'm 100% positive All the Pistons are improperly in the right direction with brand new bearings and thick seating oil lubricating everything. But now that I've got everything in, the shaft feels like it's locked up. I'm troubleshooting this right now. But I'm curious to hear your input
The crankshaft turning tool is a old BBC harmonic balancer with the out side ring took off and two paces of pipe welded to it.... I know that with all the pistons in the ring drag makes it alot harder to turn over.... On the build Im not sure what your bearing clearances are or ring end gaps, piston to wall clearance is but if there good it should turn... Hard to trouble shoot from here... I would take one piston out at a time to see if there a problem.... Hope this helped.... and good luck.....
@@Myersmetalworks thnks¡¡ you know that this piston work with original oval port and this cam 11-250-3.¡? I speak about the clearence beetwen valve and piston
I'm guessing you're not an engine shop....but your attention to detail and assembly skills are legit
It's nice to see craftsmanship once in awhile !!
Thanks George for the nice comment... Your correct we are not a engine shop, Its just a hobby.....
Man I learned something on this one.......
Thanks scuba Steve...
Garden hose two pieces 12” slide over rod bolts and install. Take off and install the cap!
Thanks for the good info....
That brass rod was a capitol idea
Thanks... I had seen them before just never had one to try, and it worked pretty good... 👍
Really love the video man keep up the good work
Glad you enjoyed it...
Ive made the same rod but i used a solid piece of nylon rod
That's a great idea.... thanks for the tip...

Make sure they know that the notch flank faces away from the cam and match flank to flank cap to rod. Otherwise, Nice job on the video.
Thanks for the info..
That is a very smart tool you created yo 😎🤛
Thanks Carlos...👍
ive always used one of the grabby tools to keep rods from sliding on the sleeves
Cool good idea...👍
@@Myersmetalworks hasn't failed yet!
I'd highly recommend a tapered ring compressor to the bore size once you start getting into thinner rings down the line. Not fun to damage them.

@@Myersmetalworkspretty slick, may steal that idea 👍
You really should not spin the crank until the rods are properly torqued. The rod ends are not pefectly round until this is done.
Thanks for the tip...
nice work¡ what part numbers are those piston?
Hi pedro gonzalez.... Here's your part # PTS514A3
