This is so funny I can barely concentrate on my driving as I watch it.
this comment comes with a driving ban
George Smiley sketch was genius. So clever both of them.
It was brilliant. Just staring at nothing in particular.
dan taylor george smiley looks like gary oldman in this sketch strange that
Oh boy that one sent me over the top. So well done, too.
I can't have two George Smileys. It's costing us a fortune in tea and biscuits.
Outstanding
Man...I have watched this particular episode hundreds of times. HUNDREDS. It has helped me through difficult times and cheered me up for a couple of years now. I send it to people and they don't get it. But, I would like to thank you for posting this stuff. It makes life worth living.
I'm with you man. This is their best episode. Truly brilliant. I think a lot of people don't get theme-ing, where you come back again to the same set-up and deepen it and sharpen it and take it to new levels. Best half-time coach talk ever. Best I saw You Coming ever. Live like Arabs? Genius.
so true on the theming thing. I rmemeber seeing the first season when it first aired and thinking it was ok....., but now they have built on all of the characters the genius of it comes through and it's like going back and watching a different show
well done good luck to you👏☺
i don't get it neither, it's alright, but good as long as it gets you out of bed
Totally on your wavelength, this episode makes me forget about the darkness that is the bad taste of humanity in the arts and remember there are social satirist who _get it_ out there
These guys are geniuses.
The stuck up Scottish man is hilarious. Very well observed. My dads Scottish friend has lived in Sussex for about 30 years and has completely lost his accent, but still berates Englishmen and bangs on about it.
As a Scotsman, I can confirm that everything is better in Scotland
The celebrating like an arab is honestly one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen
They've been doing that for what? 50-55 years?
@@tubian323around 50-55 years mate
I've finally managed to binge watch all episodes of Harry and Paul! I will celebrate it like the Arabs...
Make sure you're only firing blanks
Paul ‘s Scotsman is possibly the greatest thing he’s ever done.
Harry Enfield and Paul Whitehouse were probably the most funniest people back in the day. God I miss them!
As an Irishman, I can vouch for Paul's fantastic Irish accent...
Ahrrrr edhjs sssiadn! Byemmmair aaaasg! 1000 guineas.
I go to Cork a lot (as an Englishman) and most people are easy to understand, however sometimes I do encounter a man - it's usually an older man - who mumbles quickly and it's not easy to hear what they are saying. Paul has that down to a tee here
Same
How the piss hell did I miss these! Paul’s Gypsy curse is straight out of a Lynch nightmare…Cheers for the upload, subscribed.
I love "Bunny".....Not physically of course....he's a quare don't you know.
THUPER GHEY
Paul Whitehouse is a great character actor.
“.... What’s her name?
-I don’t know. I don’t suppose it matters. I’ll call her Darling. Unless of course she loses a house key or breaks some family crockery, in which case I’ll call her You Bloody Fool.”
The French sketches ... got the humour bang-on.
Citroen sexy edition! 🤣
Citroën Sex-E -ze new electric auto
Citroen Patawayo Ticket de Parking Erotique
This is great They show a real subtle understanding of all the different aspects of British life past and present that is impressive.
English, nae British. Nae Scottish, nae Welsh... English.
9:38 A golden moment in the history of comedy, no less, forty years in the making, the cherry on top of an already classic body of work. Nil by mouth, all by association and referencing, Weltschmerz and agonizing ennui have never made me so happy before.
Henri de Lagardère Please elucidate!
Brilliant.
Thanks for not adding the horrendous canned laughter like your other series.
Now these are what you call, 'professional comedians'... Crazy nutters!
"Beastliness will be abolished"
one of the best lines
Still waiting though
Rather
Well, quite.
I like how it takes the mick out of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire contestants wittering on unnecessarily 😂
Pure, utter GENIUS... way out on their, are Harry & Paul.
Kevin Eldon is pretty good too.
He plays one of the anyway typists, also transvestite chef Fanny Thomas on Alan Partridge, and the annoying laughing man on Alan Partridge and he wrote some of this. Brilliant actor and writer.
@@PreservationEnthusiast it’s like cars this haha
“We have a black lab called Mugabe” 🤣
Paul Martin So does he eat while you starve ?
Are you married to that Welsh actor and philanthropist. This humour is directed at you!
Mugabe was supposed to be another Mandela. Britain and persons like the Queen were heavily invested into anticolonial activity including sanctions. The result for both SA and Zimbabwe was disaster. Queen Elizabeth oversaw the extinction of her own people.
The Chris Tarrant impression is spot on - Paul Whitehouse is the master
His Mike Smash came out I thought...
The fucking life as arab sketches.
El Burrito They are random and funny as fuck. Bang on, excuse the pun.
Really depressing none of my friends appreciate this genius
Sounds like you need to change your friends.
Because they don't have a black lab called Mugabe.
Ha, ha, ha. Do you write your own material or do you not write? Ha, ha, ha look we are the same. Good.
The BBC and every other channel need to bring back these rare talents please.
Like that's ever going to happen. They're no-doubt still saying penance for this rather spicy episode.
If you're keen on entertainment, you will have to take back the BBC yourself.
Banjo Pink need to put pressure on tv channels to put these guys back on tv
@@logicalnetwork1611 How?
It's 2019 and being this funny is now illegal.
Even more so in 2023. Very sad. The Arab skit would be considered racist now. As would the Romany "I curse you" lady. The "is he a queer?" skits would be branded homophobic ... etc. etc. Damn .. I hate living under a woke yoke!
Classic comedy of the highest order.
I find the opening credits even funnier, reminds me of Paul Whitehouse's role in The Death of Stalin.
I think Alex Guinness would have loved the Smiley parody.
I love their depiction of 1950s Cambridge. That would be the era my dad was there. Pretty sure my old man wasn’t a trendy git. Even way back then.
Hmm...that's been what..50-55 years?
This is like a hybrid of Harry Enfield and The Fast Show. Love it!
You’re right, it’s almost as if Harry Enfield from The Harry Enfield Show and Paul Fast from The Fast show have got together, created a hybrid and called it Harry and Paul. You’re a frightfully clever human being and three cheers to you for deducing this.
The AK47s get me every time lmao
"We have a black lab called Mugabe" fucking lol
So relevant these days. Especially the I saw you coming skits
enfield , whitehouse, wood, greenall and eldon - just drink that cast list in for a moment
My favourite by far these 2
9:45 the George Smiley sketch is marvellous, maybe the best they ever did
Aw the amazing Victoria Wood!!
Went to see them live and they were awesome. Would love to see them make some new shows
Crazy. I imagine they live totally differently off stage.
They've got the Scottish bang on.
Last of british comedy. Enfield has been a favourite for years.
14:49 Love Paul in drag. So silly, and so brilliant.
The old Greek lady is terrifying.
Amazing show. Only just discovered it!
3:46 this caught me so off guard, I actually choked on my drink…
RIP Victoria
alice lowe doesnt even have a line but is the funniest part of the sketch just with her expressions
Ruddy hell its harry and paul is their best stuff since chums. Hope to see them back on tv soon together
Not politically possible now.

@@vc5183 don't like the truth do yer
It is the truth but we all know 😂
Genius. Most of the material here requires appreciation understanding of the subtlties of British culture and stereotyping over the 20th century. I can't imagine this will appeal to anyone born after 1990.
yet it does 😁
Exactly. Perfect observation of the different strata of British society.
"Well, anyway anyway..." lol
''Nonsense, you'd make a wonderful tree''
miss watching these 2
I have no shelves or tables, so everithing is on the floor in my room ❤
5:40 I think Harry Enfield's scots accent is loosely based on Gordon Jackson, whereas Paul Whitehouse may be basing his accent on Billy Connolly.
The best episode of a very good show
"I'm a cop!" :D oh and also @ Victoria Wood
Bunny! what a performance so funny
"use the force, Luke"... X-D
Quite frankly, I’m waiting for a ‘Len Deighton Day’ to celebrate!
Finally found a parking space..............Get the machine guns ready lol
robthebanks? Banks: I think you mean assault rifles.
This is such a hoot!
When i was young, i mean a kid
About 10yrs old, my parents would have people to the house who were like the posh gits here
& me & my cousins would sit outside the room & mimic them all but really over the top
Its true, sometimes they were so plummy voiced & cut glass accents we couldn't understand a word they said & just picked up the tone of their voices & slurred & made up gobbledegook & it sounded spot on!
You'd hear mumble mumble snort then arf arf arf, guffaw guffaw
Haw haw haw, wheeze, hic hic,
Mumble mumble
Then the older cousins & their
Chums would congregate around the bottom of the stairs, talking absolute tripe! Trying to sound grown up but " trendy " & chatting in a totally desultory manner about absolute nonsense
They didnt even have a clue about either but thought they sounded " top hole"
Used to crack up us " youngsters"
Fit to burst!
I was happy that my teenage years were in the 1970s when we were all so cool & tried to sound as normal as everyone else cultivating as broad an accent of the working class & it was liberating for us, we hated the class system
Thank god most of us are just ordinary & we never think of them & us these days
Its rediculous & Paul & Harry demonstrate that point so well in their " posh blokes" sketches
So brilliant!
forty, forty five years😂😂😂
That is accurate, the two types of Scottish people
Love the Smiley bit
Laura Solon in the Cambridge sketch: babe
Pauls reaction at 3:16 made me die
The two office 'ladies', made me laugh so much. Uncanny, there was a real life 'Beryl Hayes' who worked back in the 1980's at an office in Thames Ditton. Kevin Eldon's comedy persona matches her mannerisms, dress and hairstyle so precisely I can't help thinking he must have encountered her and her oppo's whose sniping exchanges were exactly the same. Only difference, the old battle-axe smoked like a chimney.
Harry and Paul are so funny. I miss this show. When will these two come back on tv?
When he speaking about scotish whisky and english whisky ... What song is sounds ???? I can hear its Coldplay, but what song ?
Harry Enfield in the Cambridge skit really reminds me of Tom Hanks!
I love these two so much! Brits know comedy.
And what was up with the guns??!!
And who is that in the type writer sketch with Paul? The one in green? Just hilarious
kevin eldon
and the guns were from when the golfer at the start said he was thinking about how much fun it would be to do what arabs do
i thought the guns thing was a reference to the old 'arab drift' videos
@@designate_om its an arab thing yeah to fire them in the air. the reason they do it in this show us because of the golfer
That is the actor Kevin Eldon
The guns = celebrating like Arabs!
''It's costing us a fortune in tea and biscuits''
I wonder who those divine girls are in the French Sketches?
Can anyone tell me the name of the song playing at the very beginning of the episode? It's familiar to me but I would love to know the name
"Greensleeves". Tradtional English Folk Song. The Vaughn Willliams Fantasia version is worth checking out.
Well in my room everything is on the floor after i hav been in Scotland for 3 mounts , how spooky is that .....
ua-cam.com/video/kRDILYQqUkM/v-deo.html
It's the song at 20:50 in this video, the "I saw you coming" sketch.
For me Harry Enfield remains the best comedian since Mike Yarwood
I hope that is an attempt at irony.
Everything's better in Scotland, oh yes
The part about the beastie tho :D spat coffee all over the place.
Dunne worry about him Paul were not all like that, I take a sideways look at life......
lol.. just lol appart from sturgeon who would be better on mars ,oh yes
Good job it's Harry taking the Mick or he could take himself and compatriots back over the border. That would bugger the Scottish economy.
Scotland....Ohh Yessss.......Scotland...Ayeeee........Scotland Hmmmmm............
Brilliant 👌
This is so good I'm going to shoot my Kalashnikov in the air BANGBANGBANGBANG 😆
Bertrand Russel sings silly songs. Genius...
Cheers for the uploads mate! You must be Scottish coz we upload things better than English people
8:39 Fucking brilliant!
Any other frightful queers watching this in 2018?
2020 actually, I'm a frightful quarrrre!
@@christipping7094 In that case, a belated Happy New Year to you... I am Delighted to make your acquarrrretance sir!
@@nigelcarren 😂😂😂 thank you so much, most kind . 🌈
It was nice of Harry Enfield to resurrect Alec Guinness from the grave to take his place in that Smiley sketch - not sure why it doesn't appear on his IMDB page though?
would appreciate it if someone was to explain the opening golf sketch to me?
The Rachmanioff They're saying good shot to each other but they're both rubbush. It shouldn't take that many hits.
I can explain. Don't look for explanations for esoteric comedy sketches. Did it make you laugh? If yes, that's it explained :D
@@pseudonayme7717 you mean you are not clever enough to explain it,don't you?
2024 and I'm still almost shitting my pants laughing.
Can't believe the no fun police got this show cancelled.
I mean, they're caaps. Ya don't do that when you're a caap!
'I have a black lab called Mugabe.'
'You are ******* joking!?'
Beastliness abolished!?
i saw you coming must be worth loads more than that
So funny about english whisky, so i try to find English Whisky
She's renounced communism and returned to the Catholic church.
FUCKING EPIC!
Ironically, life was simpler when they did the "when life was simple" sketch.
Catherine Shepherd! 😍😍😍
Is the Citron advert sponsored by Eurotrash?
Brilliant
paul is a great scot, boss that
..apparently they've arrested frank the coal man, they reckon he`s pinched a piece of coal out of every single sack he`s delivered since 1935....they reckon he`s had £65 worth over the years
