You have that bike packed to the gills. In 1999 I did a 2 1/2 month ride all over the US, Mexico, and Canada and didn't have that much gear. We also sent stuff home via UPS once we hit Arizona that was not needed to lighten the load. It is great to see that the Himalayan can also carry the kitchen sink so to speak. Ride On! The dog is an excellent co-pilot I am sure.
True. The past weeks I have been clearing and selling my house to go full time on the road with no end date. As I emptied the house the motorcycle pile was quietly growing. I got to Washington and unloaded a lot but then I needed a safer containment for Izzy and lost a lot of storage and real estate on the back to her pet palace. Sooooo... Off to a bunkabiker host tomorrow where I'll once again empty it all and sort some more
Recently, I made the same mistake (turning my Himmy into an RV) but I quickly saw the error of my ways and have been trying to lighten my load ever since. The load capacity of the Himalayan is 402 pounds--this includes all racks, crashbars, farkles, luggage, gear, and suited up rider. All of the influencers pushing gear on youtube are doing a disservice by promoting carrying excessive amounts of unnecessary gear as the norm.
A toast to new beginnings! 🍻
History being made. 🤣
What a cute dog!
