    Fun watching you with the 3 types of bikes! Not surprised that you preferred the Sherco, but you ride them all brilliantly 👏👏. Congrats to Hannah also for her efforts; she's riding great (of course she IS learning from the best 😊). Thanks very much for producing this for us to enjoy!

    Looks like a fun, well run event. I like how the bike trial sections we able to be rolled instead of hopping around and all back wheel like a lot of comp vids you see nowadays.

      They are definitely made to be more like pogo sticks than bikes it seems! That was apparent after trying to roll through some things. I prefer the more rolling style for sure, more like mototrials that way.

      Trials will help with every other discipline, so it is a great thing to practice. 👍

    I keep saying it... you're about to blow up dude! Keep at it.. This time next year I bet you're over 100k subs! Good stuff! You're skills are insane... also, do you test the rocks you hop on for security first? Have any ever slid away from under you?

    • @PatSmage
      @PatSmage  4 роки тому +1

      Thanks for the positive thoughts! We will see what happens, it's not easy to grow these things, haha. During a trials event, you always walk the lines first and feel the rocks for stability. You can usually tell if one is loose and either avoid it or "be light" over it. But, I have had some break or move on me in competition, it can be pretty sketchy at times. Also, sometimes when just out practicing you end up hitting things without walking them first and that can lead to some surprises.

    Can I give this a love instead of a like???!! So cool to watch. I know I keep saying it but seeing Miss Hannah crushing the terrain is awesome! Pat, you look so at home on the Skookum and the Sherco. What about a larger trials bicycle with a longer wheel base like the Skookum? Loved watching this.

      I may have forgotten to warm up on the the trials bicycle so felt a bit off on it. And I don’t ride it nearly enough. It actually has a pretty long wheelbase for a 24. I wouldn’t mind trying a 26 but will probably just ride this one a bit more for now. Not sure I can get Hannah to though haha, it’s tough for her just to get the front wheel up with how far over the front the stem puts you.

    It sounded like Hannah calls her fat bike "fat back" (edit: Below Pat says they ARE Fatback bikes! Sorry Hannah!) and now I want bacon... Very cool riding! Lots of progress, and it was very cool to see the back to back to back of the three types of bikes for both of you!

    • @PatSmage
      @PatSmage  4 роки тому +1

      Haha the fatbike brand we ride is actually called Fatback. It was definitely tricky going back and forth on such different bikes! Probably should have warmed up on the weird one a little, haha.

    I helped set up the final section. Guess I needed to move that ribbon down closer to the "water" rock. Not that getting your tires wet would have made any difference. And somebody moved the final exit ribbon on the bicycle trials portion, so you didn't have to ride down and exit out the final rock gulch. Ummm good thing the trials master didn't catch this....

    • @PatSmage
      @PatSmage  4 роки тому

      You left just enough room! Thanks for making a good section for all bikes. I was wondering why the end changed on Saturday, would have been a tricky little climb on the bicycles.

    Do you think bicycle trials could help with extreme enduro riding if you don't have a moto trials bike

    • @PatSmage
      @PatSmage  4 роки тому

      Yeah it would, not as much as a motorcycle but some techniques are similar enough.

      Manitou forks have a reverse arch, the arch is behind the fork legs.
