Are those altered TJI’s on your shed dormer? If so how was your structural engineer able to account for the alteration? Great video 😊
We put masher fill in (3/4 material) to reinforce the ends to set into hangers for better support. It actually beefs up the hanger more and engineer is good.
What pitch roof do you typically use for attic trusses? Also is that designed for a vented attic once the drywall ceiling is installed?
At least a 7/12 pitch, and no vented since I use an aluminum shingle roof that naturally radiates heat back out.
I see one problem with the recessed shower pans. The edge of the recess should be flush with the other side of the wall framing. In other words move out 3-1/2 inches. The reason is that the shower door will likely attach to the middle of the studs and that will be past the membrane pan. When water seeps through the grout in the floor tile it will migrate along the slab. I have personally had this problem and the migrating water wicks up into the baseboards of the bathroom and causes mildew. We started extending then pan out beyond the shower door to allow the water to flow through the mortar bed and into the weep holes of the shower drain. Unfortunately this problem resulted in warranty repairs on a dozen homes and was a costly mistake. Remember that all shower floor area needs to be over the pan. Even if the concrete edge is cut or ground at a 45 degree bevel the edge of the membrane can be glued to the concrete to move it towards the bathroom area. I have been General Contracting for 25 years. I love your content. Great video.
