Wau wau i got it am so excited, where are you sir? You suppose to come teach here in Namibia thank you soo much Sir fo open my mind . May God blessing you.
This was really helpful and I got full marks on my geography. Thank you for the advice your a really good teacher... I never knew anything about how to do this until I watched your video
Plss help me with this one , 7:45 ,when you add your magnetic declination,is it gonna be instructed to use the total annual magnetic declination or the mean magnetic declination from your map ?
Unless it it stated to calculate the magnetic declination, you will always use the mean magnetic declination of the map you’re using to find magnetic bearing 🙂
You may have addressed it but I am confused on finding the Magnetic Bering. I understand that you add the declination (23° West) to your true Bering. But from other navigation videos I’ve seen a Western declination is always a Negative number so you would be adding -23° to 94° equaling 71° instead of 117° I am still struggling with grasping magnetic declination so it would really help if you could correct me. Thanks!
Hi. I just viewed your channel and some videos. You're quite amaizing. Now I want to understand something clearly. When they want true bearing for something, will they always indicate that they want true bearing from trig beacons or any random feature?
@EverythingGeography7 oh alright. So then about Magnetic declination let's say you calculated magnetic declination on a specific question. When asked to calculate Magnetic bearing, will you use the magnetic declination of the map or the one you just calculated?
@MichellePaulineBetha normally the questions used to be concurrent where you have to find the bearing then calculate magnetic declination then magnetic bearing. But examiners have been smart. So, you need to follow what the question is asking. If you’re asked to find magnetic bearing with no year indicated that means you will use the mean magnetic declination of the map to find you magnetic bearing and if asked to calculate the magnetic declination, you will use the one you calculated 🙂
Have your own notes summary taken from your textbook. Study your notes, use previous question papers thereafter. Memorise your GIS definitions and practice all your calculations 🙂
Hi there. You can access this link for free to download previous question papers 🙂 www.education.gov.za/Curriculum/NationalSeniorCertificate(NSC)Examinations/NSCPastExaminationpapers.aspx
Yes, every map has the mean magnetic declination given. However, in most cases you will be required to calculate the magnetic declination for a specific year.
How did he get 180 on the next bearing which is 183 😢and also i feel like hiz calculations were somewhere wrong wasnt the next one supposed to be 93 But i understood something ❤

Hey guys do you benefit?
After calculating magnetic bearing ,do we substract 60 Min from the final answer .only if I get more than. 60min
Only if your minutes are great than 60
Hi. I just viewed your channel and some videos. You're quite amaizing. Now I want to understand something clearly. When they want true bearing for something, will they always indicate that they want true bearing from trig beacons or any random feature?
Hi there thank you 🙏🏾 . True bearing is direction in degrees and can be asked from any feature on the map🙂
@EverythingGeography7 oh alright. So then about Magnetic declination let's say you calculated magnetic declination on a specific question. When asked to calculate Magnetic bearing, will you use the magnetic declination of the map or the one you just calculated?

Any study tips for Geography 😊
Have your own notes summary taken from your textbook. Study your notes, use previous question papers thereafter. Memorise your GIS definitions and practice all your calculations 🙂
wait so when you calculate your true North do you have to add 180º like you did in order to get 274ºas your true bearing?
Your true bearing yes. Because we count in a clockwise direction 🙂
Thaa achuz ❤️
Danko 💯😂
Good day Sir can you please, put a link on past papers that have maps
Hi there.
You can access this link for free to download previous question papers 🙂
www.education.gov.za/Curriculum/NationalSeniorCertificate(NSC)Examinations/NSCPastExaminationpapers.aspx
I just wanted to clear a little confusion, since you used westward, shouldnt you be subtracting instead of adding?? EAST(positive) and WEST(negative)
My directions are both the same ‘W’ so it’s addition🙂
please after finding the true bearing how do you convert it to magnetic bearing
Watch the full video? 😅
So the magnetic bearing you add is the longitude block the trig beacon is in?
You add the true bearing that is from the measuring you did, to the magnetic bearing
Tomorrow I'm writing p1
For magnetic bearing is the 28 degres 0 minute found on the map or what?
Yes.
@@EverythingGeography7 thank you!
So the portraiture will always start looking at the right side
From 12 🕛o’clock in clockwise direction 🙂
@@EverythingGeography7 thank u 🙏
Are you given the magnetic declination in every map
Yes, every map has the mean magnetic declination given. However, in most cases you will be required to calculate the magnetic declination for a specific year.
@@EverythingGeography7 thanks
not me watching this while its based in my town😹💓thank you it makes sense
haha, you're welcome :)
@@EverythingGeography7 day before the paper thanks a lot mate
How did he get 180 on the next bearing which is 183 😢and also i feel like hiz calculations were somewhere wrong wasnt the next one supposed to be 93
But i understood something ❤
We count clockwise not anticlockwise
2k24🤝❤️
All the best🙂
I've been struggling to do this 😩
I hope you understand now🙂
😂 Thanks for been helpful
Pleasure 😅
l understand surly
🙏🏾
Where did u get the magnetic declination??
Hi Thato.
The mean magnetic declination is that of the map. 🙂
Is it a must that we utilize protector
Yes always.
