oh thanks! .. well, my vote would always be cha cha and rhumba ... my wife and i are very strictly amateur hobbyists who only take dance lessons for a fun, weekly date night and a chance to dance at weddings, etc ... i try to adjust what i see in your awesome videos to the "slow - quick - quick" / "dancing on 1" style we know, but i am not always successful (which gives us a good laugh - mustn't take ourselves too seriously) ... happy new year to you both and thanks again for all you share!!
DEFINITELY "mustn't take ourselves too seriously"! :) It's great that you are trying to put these into American style. Thanks for the feedback! A very happy new year to you! We have lots of exciting new videos in store... so look out for them. :) Happy Dancing!
@@DanceInsanity I suggest you demonstrate an American style rumba variation of the inside UAT in a crossbody lead, where you use the overturned inside UAT in that crossbody lead into a shadow check and back home to Open Hold. This rumba move reminds me of that used in Mambo and also in Salsa.
You forgot that there was a sixth way to do the underarm turn that does not exist in this video. It is roughly known to rumba experts - the underarm turn itself - as the good-old "Alemana" turn. You often do this a lot..... You do the underarm turn (outside UAT) on the follower on counts 2, 3, and on the "4-1", lead her into a very quick extra spiral UAT into her lady's walkaround "round" you going from your R to the L - and after the walkaround, go back into Open Facing Position, or lead her into an Opening Out R. You keenly know this - and me too - and this advanced rumba move using this UAT variation is called the Rope Spin - aka Rope Spinning. Yea.
Loving the quick tips for both the leader and follower. You two are absolutely adorable!
Anne Tracy thanks!!! Which is your favorite variation??
You guys crack me up. Thanks for making these so fun. I'll have to try out the variations... #4 looks tough if the leader is a lot taller!
Luisame thanks!! We crack each other up too... As you can tell. :)
