Start anywhere! You can do them in high school or at a local community college. Look into the program you’d be interested in attending; they will have the prerequisite courses listed on their website. Then once you have those you can work with a college counselor on getting enrolled!
Certificate programs are a continuation of a program. You will have completed a degree in Radiologic Sciences (probably to work in Radiology/x-ray) and then once you complete that you would continue through the certificate program for Radiation Therapy. You cannot do a certificate program without that prerequisite.
You can find the list of ARRT Eligible Programs on this site: www.arrt.org/pages/about-the-profession/learn-about-the-profession/recognized-educational-programs
What’s the website where I can see what is required to work as a radiation therapist in New York? Also so far I’ve only been able to find two colleges where I would be able to get a associates degree that are accredited by the jrcert in New York which makes me really nervous.
Salaries vary throughout the country; it's best to search "Radiation Therapist Salary in _" and look for the results on sites like Glassdoor, ZipRecruiter and the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
It's possible. It just depends on where in the country you are working. Areas with a higher cost of living will be more likely to have higher salaries than areas with lower cost of living. For example (not real numbers) you can work in Los Angeles, CA and make $65/hour and then move to Fayetteville, WV and make $40/hour doing the same exact job with the same experience.
I’m so glad I find your channel 😊your explanation is so clear and helpful
