Hoboken’s resiliency parks fight flooding but have big cost

  • Hoboken’s four resiliency parks conceal massive underground tanks that can take on about 4 million gallons of rainwater. Amy Chester, the director of Rebuild by Design, the organization that drew up the parks, says early estimates show the tanks reducing local flooding by 88%.
    Editor's Note: $230 million is the cost for some of the resiliency projects in Hoboken. The resiliency parks, which were funded by a variety of sources, were designed and built by the city.

    Let’s compare some of these numbers to local, county, and state police budgets. Not to mention the military budget 😂 This is a great step in the right direction
