1. Layers/layering - the weather changes constantly in winter so you can add on or remove layers. It will help especially with the kids. 2. For your first two years, forget fashion in winter, think warmth. When your body adjusts to the weather, fashion will be back. 3, Costco/Walmart has great winter coats especially for kids. Always buy the kids jackets in sight of the next winter as like someone said above, they grow fast and outgrow their clothes. 4. Giant Tiger and Walmart have thermal thick socks. Your feet will thank you for them. 5. Moisturize your skin more than you usually do. Winter is drying on the skin. Give your kids gloss to keep in their pockets (a balmy more than oily gloss). 6. Get indoor blankets for the living room. Sometimes the chill just penetrates through. 7. If you use knorr or maggi cubes, best to blend them and then keep to use. They tend to turn to hard rocks on winter. 8. Because of the dryness of winter, it may start to thin your hair or make you shed. Protective styles are very important and moisturizing well.

We don't normally take seasonal flu jabs. I and my family prefer to fight it with our natural immunity for the past 25 years, and none of us has caught the flu, not once. Just keep warm and drink enough hot fluid .
Great video! Depending on whether you live in a condo or not, one thing you did not mention is taking care of the outside of the house by buying snow shovels and salt for your sidewalks.
Get some shovels,salt for melting the snow faster,touch light in case of power outages, comforters,winter house socks (they are very thick and keeps your feet warm), sweaters as inner layers. Thank God you have all you need as a new immigrant, good luck and stay safe .

People go to work and school even in bad winters as you aren't outside all the time and indoors are kept warm and well heated. I'll dream of cold Alberta when winter officially starts next month but will venture no further than the GTA where it isn't as cokd as Alberta all the time.. My friends says it's not always cold every day in Alberta. It's best to be prepared but fresh fruits and vegetables are usually available in the supermarkets. You are well fortified for the winter. I don't think you miss a thing except lip balm for the kids. Oh, what about sweaters to be worn under winter jackets? You have enough scarves and gloves. Do they have long johns for boys? Those can be worn under their pants to keep warm when they don't need to wear snow pants (like when going to church). The modern homes in Canada are equipped with central humidifier - same as heat abd air-conditioning. Soup looks delicious from where I am watch. You are a 1st class chef in your own right. All the best to you and your family as you strive to stay wellfed healthy warm and dry this upcoming winter season. Before you know it, spring 2024 will arrive on your doorsteps.

Great video Neze. I live in US, North Carolina but I can share some suggestions with you to layer with undershirt, t-shirts, tights and leg warmers. Leg warmers are back in style. Something that is really great is towel warmer but I would only get one for the master bathroom that way the kids don't hurt themselves with the racks. I sometimes get hand warmers from Amazon value packs, the disposable kind for the kids. Heated faux electric blankets from Amazon. Get lots of blankets and comforters. Winter period seems to be when there is more indulgent of eating due to the place being so cold and all you want to do is snack or eat more than usual. Hope these help.

The mobile heating be careful because it can be very costly if you use it mutch because you pay for hydro.
