20066 First Run in 31 Years!! EXPLOSIVE EAR SHATTERING RUN!

- HellfireTV was there to capture another first from behind the engines. 20066 restored to it's original BR blue livery recently, was provided by Harry Needle to the East Lancashire Railway for it's 2024 Summer Gala.
Chopper '66 hauled it's first passenger train in 34 years!
Filmed from Bury Bolton Street through to Rawtenstall. This beautifully presented English Electric Class 20 was explosive with the noise and clag and provided thrilling entertainment as you'll experience in this run, filmed both sides from various locations. This time I won't say Enjoy The Ride as you will. Let watch 20066 take your breath away!
I'm listening on headphones flailing out the bedroom window to this!!!
Love the "I'm recording for the thrash" comment, nearly pee'd myself.
I am too, headphones on, in the dark whilst my wife is sleeping next to me. Got noise cancelling headphones on she can’t hear but it’s really loud!
@hellfiretvmh I'm same, just finished a shit shift and this is perfect to watch in bed with the headphones on. I thought there was a class 37 passing, but it was the wife snoring 😂
@@hellfiretvmh My wife is partial to a bit of 20 action so she enjoyed it too. 😂
That power unit is running very sweetly
The sounds suggest so!
that 🔔 end made me chuckle what are you filming for lol 😆 what a wet wipe asking that 🤣
Beautiful sound of Class 20 Locomotion,Love the throaty sound ❤❤❤❤Music to my ears 🔈🔉🔊🎵🎶
Glad you enjoyed it - it does sound great… if you enjoyed this, there are many more class 20 films at my HellfireTV channel for you to enjoy.
All Hail English Electric!!
Sounds like you enjoyed the Class Class 20! At my HellfireTV channel, there's plenty more Class 20 films like this one and a big one to follow next week 20137 & 20228 at the Gloucestershire and Warwickshire... 20228 first passenger run in over 15 years and boy was it loud!
What a beast - well set up with a cracking divert too. Love a super-strong 20.
How powerful does it sound!
Stealing a field or two 😁👍 Always liked the 20s although didn't get on them too often as we mostly had Sulzers for local freight and some down road work. Can't beat an EE though, she sounds cracking. Brings back a few memories !
Absolutely awesome the class 20 sounds and looks fantastic brilliant video 😊
Many thanks! It means the world hearing how you enjoyed it!
@@hellfiretvmhagreed Harry Needle who owns it has done a fantastic job on 20066 both mechanically and aesthetically to say that she has not run for 31 years she looks great and sounds great like she is almost a new locomotive 😊
so Harry needle owns it but left it to rot away unusual for him as he usually hires them out as he's a money 💰 head! so had he paid the E.L.R to restore it and repaint it!!!
Absolutely hellfire! Another top quality vid.
Much appreciated! Thank you - I enjoy making these films. Developed this style and approach over 30 years so your comment is really appreciated as quite a bit of work and time goes into the edit to create it! Currently around 300 films at my channel. Regards
Superb thanks for posting
Glad you enjoyed plenty more to view like this at HellfireTV if you haven’t Subscribed yet.
@@hellfiretvmh I subscribed as soon as I watched the video 👍🏻
Absolute music to my ears ❤

20s ,wonderful things. Always enjoyed pulling the handle back for the thrash 😃
Oh yes! You were a lucky man.. I have a 20’s playlist in my Channel HellfireTV if you haven’t subscribed yet, with about 20 similar class 20 films in it for you to reminisce! Next up weather permitting is 20228 next Friday hopefully at the GWSR…
Excellent video, I really enjoyed it. Thanks for sharing it.

@@hellfiretvmh I’ve been a subscriber for sometime, it’s just this one was brilliantly captured
A Chopping Fab resto, an unmolested Chopper doing what she does best that to make music.
I love filming 20's loads more like this at my Channel HellfireTV - please take a look or subscribe please..
@@hellfiretvmh Fair enough will have a look at your site for 'Grids' and doctored Jeremy,s' and a few years ago rode behind a Chopper at GWR,s diesel gala, she sounded like a Royal Enfield Motorbike on weed.
Best diesel for heritage railways - decent work for a small loco.
Love 20’s on heritage lines…
Poetry in motion........................
A small correction. You captioned the end of the line as 'Ramsbottom'. Should be 'Rawtenstall'. Thanks for taking the time to film and sharing with us.
Well I’m only Human!
It also states it was a train from Hopwood. Surely you meant Heywood?
Awesome Chopper action , it's a pity EE didn't fit a lightly tuned 1,100hp version of this engine into the class 23 when the Napier engines were playing up 🚁
Now there’s a thought!
CHOPPAAHH!!
Brilliant!!!
Glad you enjoyed it! Many more like this at my channel.
Fantastic footage. Loved the different camera angles and the wind free sound was top quality.
That’s an amazing job they’ve done on the loco. Whoever set the power unit up has got running beautifully, the exhaust is looking really clean on full power.
Thank you very much! Beautiful engine and there are many more films like this at my HellfireTV Channel for you to enjoy if you haven’t subscribed yet!
Hi mate love your vids, just wondered what microphone you use as the audio is very good
I have various Rode Microphones with various combinations of foam and wind mufflers.. I also sometimes use a sennheiser mk 200 too. Glad you enjoy the films it has taken me 30 years trialling different rigs and set ups and I am really happy with the current output. I am getting older as are all these noisy diesels and want to create as many films for people as possible. Our hobby now is seasonal finishing now in October so with hundreds of films to choose from I still get my fix in those dark days in the winter months!
Indecently enjoyable...😮😊
Thank you.. Enjoyed making this and sharing it… if you like the 20, plenty more like this at my channel, please take a look around.
wheres it been for 31 years hidden away since BR withdrawal in 1993 it sounds amazing i love the sound of these little loco's make at power 😍🥰
It has been working as an industrial loco for a number of years in the Scunthorpe Steel Complex but has been away from the mainline for 31 years hauling any passenger trains…
@@hellfiretvmh I thought it may have been one of his industrial loco's like the 20s at hope cement works there two there still!
Sounds great 👍
It does! Thanks
proper heavey metal atb
We agree on that!
You's recording for summat mate? 🤣🤣🤣
Not sure I know what you mean.. keep enjoying the films I hope!
@@hellfiretvmh your observer at Summerseat, tinny in hand... made me chuckle.
I used to love hearing them at tinsley T.M.D on a freezing cold Sunday afternoon i was about 12 years old stood on the hill at tinsley T.M.D logging numbers in the early 1980s with my dad he would take me up in a silver mini 1100 sprite we drove up from Stalybridge there was always a few choppers chirping away to each other it was very therapeutic! they was the best days ever the B.R days! Nice video 🥰😍🤩
amazing little machines the class 20s as the class 20s & class 37s are 2 of EE finest locomotives ever built in the late 1950s to late 1960s 🥰
Belle balade, merci pour cette video et belle machine !
Merci
