I'm not sure I'm so struggling with rain,i live in tropical region, which means when it rains,it won't stop for months and no sun at all during rainy season 😢
This is so enlightening, sir. Your garden really proves that succulents could withstand the sun and rain. Other thing I've noticed with pots, though, is that if the plant is just as big as the mouth of the pot, then its leaves would cover the soil and would avoid it getting too much water. Just a thought...
This is very true, thanks for pointing that out as well. It works out really well because during their dormant periods, Echeveria tend to lay their leaves downwards (because the days are shorter during winter). As a result the leaves will be acting as channels directing water away from the plant itself. Good catch!
Thanks Chuck for reminding me to check for dead leaves at the base of my succulents I’m spending lots of time in the garden and then moving to work under cover to my potting table when it rains I’m growing lots more salad and sty fry vegetables at the moments. As long as I protect them from snails, possums and my poodle puppy they should do fine It’s helping me keep sane during this isolating period As always, thanks for. sharing your wisdom with us Cheers Maria 🧑🏼🦳❤️ Your plants look amazing and very healthy

I know i'm late but thanks for everything you talked about here.I've learned a lot about taking care of my succies.By the way,you have beautiful plants .
cinnamon is a good non toxic anti fungal ! you can sprinkle it over your soil and plants , and as it's rained on it seeps into the soil becoming more effective if anything . i also like to mix some into my soil but that's easier to do in smaller batches :)
Absolutely beautiful plants! Since my collection is still ‘small’. I bring all my plants inside my house 🤣 when there is too much rain or too cold ❤️🌱🌵
Thanks! Im realizing succulents along with drought tolerant plants are great behind my apt in israel. It is far from my water tap. So its great to see and hear about uour garden!
I noticed at home that my succulents grow faster with rainwater than tap water, it rains moderately in the south of France, so they do not often have the opportunity to take a good rain but with the rain I saw cuttings grow very quickly ,while without rain they did not grow.
Ilonggo kaw? I subbed last week and started binge watching all your vids! I have just started my passion, oops, obsession with succs and your vids have been so helpful-thanks!
Thank you so so much I’ve learned so much from you since starting my plant journey being in NJ it’s basically raining or humid most days if not under 50F. I tilted my sempervivum pots before the winter (thanks chuck!) and just assumed everything was going to freeze/rot and let me tell you I’ve propagated 3 new pots of them already and they look amazing! Makes quarantine less terrible 🌼🌸🌺
Thank you! It's mainly because I have a different format. My main videos are in the form of vlogs rather than just straight up tutorials. People tend to search for tutorials. The other part is that I enjoy making vlogs more than tutorials. This means that the channel does not grow explosively, but the same people keep returning because they want to see what happens next!
I live in the Caribbean and we don't have these on sale anywhere here. I purchased some succulents seeds online but they turned out to be duds. My question is, where can I purchase sure plants\seeds that I can grow in tropical weather?
Hi, I am from India and here my summer r very hot and humid, do u think I can also keepy plants open like yours, considering all the elements as required and what about sunburns on the water stains after the rain or watering
What I do during summer is filter the light. As soon as our average temperatures start hitting 30-35°C consistently for a few days, that's when I add shade cloth. Our summers can hit 45-50°C.
Chuck has covered this lots of times in the past. Basically he chops off their heads in spring and the stump grows babies on it. Another method is to chop the thick flower stem off the plant, set it aside in the shade for a week or so, then plant it in porous soil in bright light (not full sun) and sometimes it grows babies along the flower stem. Look over his past episodes for the videos on it.
So is there no issue if it is raining for several says in a row? Wouldn't this cause overwatering since the plant will take in as much water as it can? Also I always wanted to know, do you know of an echeveria that has white flowers?
If the soil drains freely, very little water is trapped. All they have are moist air gaps around the roots, which isn't all that bad. As for your question, the only one I can think of is Echeveria cante and some of its hybrids (e.g. Echeveria 'Domingo'). The outer part of the flowers are white, but the inside is bright orange/yellow... but yeah.
@@Cerriscapades Thanks! I guess this is the closest I could get with a white flower. I am also interested, what frameworks did you use for the front end and backend in your project? I assume the data is scraped from various sites or is there an API that gathers all the data?
What's your strategy for dealing with rain?

I am learning a lot from u
Great video, how do succulents do in the winter and a hard frost?
wow !!! 😍😍😍
How do you make your loose soil ?
Homemade succulent fertilizer ? Please give me some ideas. Thank u
Jajajaja the intro killed me 🤣🤣
As long as you have a well draining soil rain water shouldnt matter. succulents love rain for the most part from what I heard.
