Rihanna's mom is from guyana. But both melanie fiona's parents are from guyana. So mel is canadian guyanese. I love dis song, i wish mel would perform some of her songs in guyana. Because a lot of the people there don't know about her yet.
@MiszTeeHoney people from the west indians are descents from slaves that gave from West Africa and since she's Guyanese her ancestry is a mixture of West African(possible Ghana and Indian) because the British brought the Indians to the west indies to work as servants. Just like the Chinese and Syrian immigrated to the Jamaica. That's why most people from their are have mixed ancestry from the European, West African, and Asians cultures that immigrated there.
Sexy mama 1284. I love melanie and I know she represents for Guyana. And that's beautiful. I wish her the best. We're all guyanese and we love her much.
@LEiTHA870 doesn't matter. She's GUYANESE! In the words of Iwer George - "is the blood in we!" Stick together my Guyanese people! My caribbean people. God bless!
Yeah i kno, i did say she was born in Canada...And i know bout the whole history thing i wasn't getting into all of that lol i was just saying her parents are from there...i wasnt talking bout the generation b4 her parents...and Guyana is not west indies...it adpated the west indian culture....but the main point here is that Melanie Fiona sings well.
@Mizzbabyblue12 Aren't her parents emigrants from Guyana? Than I think she is Guyanese, but was born and raised in Cananda. Even if she has a Canadian nationality. But ok :)
@LEiTHA870 For me it's the same thing, her parents made her! When I'm asked where I'm from I wld always say French Caribbean rather than France... I do understand your point but for me she's from Guyana that's where her roots are... Even if she wld probably say like you actually!
My Aunt, the oldest sister, looks like Melanie Fiona. The high cheek bones, the skin tone, the hair texture. Melanie Fiona is smaller though. My Aunt is thicker. Both beautiful women.
@taurusgirl24 They way you say that she is from Guyana not Ghana doesn't really sound nice :s as if Ghana isn't also a country on earth :s no offence(even do they are 2 diffrent country's). Just saying. But yes she is from Guyana and she also has West Indian blood in her(if I'm not mistaken) Peace
