I would love a series of videos about colorful watches. Each video would be a specific color. For example, one video would be the best watches with a red dial. A week later, there would be another video with the best watches with an orange dial, and so on. I know there has been some videos about this before, but a complete series of every color would be awesome! Just an idea.
That would be awesome 😍😍😍
Teddy, your shooter needs to use a chip chart or test card to get colours more exact. It’s a simple thing that will help make the face colours more exact. This watch varies so much in colour, from orange to red during the video. The colour chip chart, usually used by still photographers, would make sure you can nail that colour correction.

Always liked this color, but couldn’t justify the price. But today at the Citizen outlet in Orlando, Florida, THIS color was on clearance and I got it for $225 out the door. At this price I am VERY happy with it!
That’s the kind of deal I’d need to make this watch make sense for me.
Damn! I live in Orlando and wish I knew about this!!!!
I recently got the orange Devil Diver. Wonderful watch, and it hacks! It's good to see that Bulova upgraded the Oceanographer with a hacking movement.
love watching reviews of watches that I already own.
These watches do hack! I own one and it definitely hacks. I’m guessing the press samples they sent out didn’t have the hack upgrade.
I just picked this watch up
I really really like its charm
the orange is much more playful than what is shown in this video and pictures. Its more of a vibrant orange, basically a neon orange! lmao
You will either think its jarring or very styliss! Bottom line, it is for sure an attention grabber and will start a convo with people who are around you!
Imo this watch is meant to be an accent to an outfit and is more a casual watch but will go very well with black and dark suits. It gives you a modern look with a suit but Im talking about a outfit that has no color and is all black or dark grey/navy, like tie and shoes.
Saw this exact watch today for sale at the mall in Canada I believe it was in the high 600s it was 25% off the only thing I didn’t like was that strap how it stuck out so much before it dropped down there’s just no moving that strap at the lugs. I couldn’t believe how bright this thing was if you go hunting in the woods you don’t need the vest all you need is this watch ;)
I love this orange dial! So great! Many thanks for your great review!
A very detailed description of this watch. My questions are these: How well does it keep time? How well does it withstand daily use?
I have the earlier Orange LE with a highbeat SWISS movement. And it came on a bracelet.
Same here. The bezel is also slightly different.
I've got this watch great review Teddy 👍
I just received mine today and it’s a fabulous watch. Much of my surprise I discovered it doesn’t indeed have hacking now. I didn’t read the comments on here. I wonder if anybody else has posted about this. Is there a new movement inside?
Interesting question. Does Bulova upgrade their movement?
Looks like a great summer/beach watch. 19MM and lack of hacking is a bit of downer. I don't love date windows and cyclops even less, but if you're going a do a cyclops this one is one of the better ones out there. It does not detract from the watch like a typical cyclops does. Future upgrades: 20MM lugs, hacking, make the date window optional and add a display caseback (so long as the movement looks decent). I think Bulova could then charge $999 (kinda like upside down 666, right?) for it.
21,600 vibrations per hour? 6x6x6=216
Bulova has done this a few times. Having an entry level movement on a great design. The Milship I thought they could stick better movement
Do you even own this movement? Because I believe you don't, otherwise you would have a made in Japan COSC accurate , ISO rated , easy to back hack movement.
@@camarocarl7130: yes, I do and it's the worst automatic movement you can buy at the moment. Extremely inaccurate, no hacking, noisy non-bearing rotor and looks like it was made from beercans. No thanks. Was excited for this watch until I heard the dreaded word "miyota". Since when is +20 seconds a day cosc?? And an ISO rated movement? Movements arent ISO rated, watches are.
Wind it 40 times, put it on a timegrapher and you will see an accurate rate, high amplitude and very low beat error-mine is 0.0 so quit talking shit.@@keesketsers5866
Very nice watch until we talk about it’s movement, for me not hacking is a no go and for what you are paying I think they should use a 9000 movement! Nice video, keep the good work my friend!
I agree. I don’t get why they did this
There is an LE version with a Swiss highbeat movement. Interesting that Bulova would use a Sellita since Bulova is owned by Citizen. The 9xxx series Citizen movement would have been a more logical choice.
I own this watch and it runs plus one a day, so to set it I simply back hack by pulling out the crown fully and slightly turn the crown to stop the second hand, so that is good as a hack IMO. These 821D series movements have obviously been regulated by Bulova or Myota.
Got one, its very beautiful with the intense lume in the barrels, the only problem i have with it is the rather annoying rubber strap, which was not sized small enough for me
i had to fit a Miltat 20mm steel bracelet to it, yes in the 19mm space
Wow this watch's color is really amazing
I have the limited SW200 version. I love it.
This watch really need a 9015, or equivalent, movement to justify that price. It's now fighting in the same price range as Selitta SW200 equipped watches and some nice retro styling cues really can't mitigate that rather basic 8000 series movement.
You can get this $450 or less at that price it's a good deal
I bought one and really like it . It keeps good time and the non hacking doesn't bother me it's not a daily wearer mostly summer.
Can you put a 9000 movement in it?
man I love this watch so much I need to pick one up
To summarize, if it had the nine thousand and it hacked...done deal!
At this price it should be a 9 series. Period.
My 821D series in this model runs perfect or plus one second per day. Period.
@@camarocarl7130 I have 8 series watches that run very well too. These watches were all in the $150 or less price range. Bulova is a Citizen brand so movements are at cost. I have the same problem with Timex using the 8 series and charging $200+ for their automatics.
@@jims4539 I find my 821D runs better than any 4R Seiko I own for about the same price, also you can pick up one of these devil divers for $300. and change nowadays. Great value for sapphire and ISO rating.
@@camarocarl7130 maybe it's jargon but apparently the 821d has increased shock resistance and is only found in the devil divers. If this is true it is a real workhorse movement. Mine is very accurate, off by about 5s a day.
@@GetOffMyLog Mine is well within COSC, ISO rated also.
I can live with the 19mm lugs, Omega, Tudor and many other brands use this size. What I can't forgive them not using a 9000 movement. Way to high in price for what it is, I will say it's a nice looking diver with splash but not blinged out. Citizen you can do better, you have two movement makers in your stable and like 6 or so brands. Start looking into the parts bin. Own Alpina's and love them, and built right nor did they cost me more than this watch. And that brand is in the Citizen stable. Bulova did well with the Lunar Lander and high end quartz, and with their inhouse quartz divers, no excuse for an 8000 m0vement at $700 when it's all said and done.
Got mine at $225 at the Citizen outlet in Orlando, FL and at this price I am very happy. Was not getting it at regular price, or even when Amazon had them in the $400 range. I got it at a proper price for what it is.
Absolutely nothing wrong with this robust ISO rated movement. Hacking can be archived by pulling out the crown and slightly rotating, not a problem at all. Mine runs well within COSC and more accurate than any of my 4R-36 Seikos. Before you bad mouth a watch I suggest you actually wear/own it.
They must have changed the movement, because the one I got in 2023 from the jungle site definitely hacks.
I really wish Bulova used their precisionist 262khz movement in more of their models.
Agreed. Blows my mind that they only put it in their ugliest watches. It’s like they don’t want to make money as a company.
Yeah so true lol, I still have an Accutron ll snorkel diver and Precisionist 96b252. Wish they made an everyday watch and also an integrated bracelet watch like Tissot PRX Powermatic with that movement, with 36-40 case diameter and 100m water resistance.
I just got one 12/21/23, mine does hack and its about 20+ per day. Not impressed with the accuracy, the crown isnt great either. The silicone bracelet is extremely sticky. The design and color however is amazing!!
Hi Teddy, another great video. Love your style. Any chance you could do a review on the Tissot Le Locle 40mm? Would be great to here your thoughts on it. Keep up the great videos!
I have the green on a bracelet great value love mine. 😁
Stunning Watch!
It definitely is a nice watch and something I'd consider buying if it weren't for its downsides but "exceed" a Seiko Prospex...I don't know about that.
I do, I own both and some seiko chinese POS movement does not even compare to my COSC accurate Miyota movement in this Bulova.
If they would have used the 9000 series this watch would have been thinner and collectors would have been all over this thing.
For me, authenticity is more important and a Swiss movement would be more preferable. This could have been done with a Frederick Constant movement as Citizen own that manufacturer as well. However, movements have to fit cases and a different case would have to be manufactured to ensure that the movement could fit properly. So the factors which would have to be considered are costs and retail price. If the current movement, irrespective of lack of hacking facility, is reliable, then perhaps most actual divers would prefer reliability underwater, than the controversial topic of hacking. If you want total accuracy, buy a quartz dive watch instead!
Love the watch and wish they made a yellow variant like the Doxa. Movement not great thus keeping the cost low. The small hands seem a bit different than original and seem a bit weird in my view. Watch should be no more than $350
Love the watch. I own one. My only disappointment is with the cyclops lens. It is too small and does nothing. 😡
Yeah I find it makes the date about 30% bigger? Nonetheless it gets a lot of attention in a good way+
Hi, which retro watch did you strap on yourself in this video? Thank you
Mine seems to have hacking
How about compare with Seiko 5 dive watch... Bulova vs Seiko. Which name brand has more higher class or luxury??
looks just like an skx with the lugs 😎👍
No hacking, no purchase at this price point.
I accidentally turned the crown the wrong way and forced it through twice when setting the date, did I cause damage?
Great video
is there an orange bracelet for it, if so, where to buy it?
i could use some help to pick one in between bulova devil diver orange or seiko 5 sports gmt mikan orange? hope to hear from you soon
I just don’t understand why they could not have dropped in a Miyota 8204 with hacking, like I have in my Citizen diver.
wassup teddy!!! 😎✌️
Hacking is THE most over-rated feature on a watch with an automatic movement. Some Pateks and VCs also don't have hacking. The best automatic movements in the world can lose a second or two a day, so there goes your hack immediately. Really a meaningless feature.
I’m with you 100%
Is their Any Quartz Alternative with similar Style and Dimensions?
Where can i find some others rubber/silicon straps for this watch?
I would like to buy one of these watches, but I don't like rubber straps. Does anybody know if you can buy a jubilee or similar that fits?
I have the opportunity to get this secondhand and I’m on the fence between it and the orient Ray ii in orange. I had a mako I loved and the ray is a lot cheaper, but the retro styling on this is super cool. Advice?
Went with the bulova. Pumped for it to get in.
i also just ordered the bulova.can't wait for it to arrive.what do you think of yours?
@@gustafrenstrom8549 I really like it.
Does anybody know if the bezel insert is acrylic or mineral? Doubt it's sapphire
Suggest one watch which is dive watch, having open back case. 😭
Dive watches don't have open case backs typically as the steel is more resistant to water pressure.
I winder how hard it would be to replace the movement with a Selitta?
or even the 9000?
@@Genegenedtb apparently the 9000 series movements are not swappable because they have a slightly different crown placement.
That logo...
2:05
Much too expensive for a watch with that movement.
how much???? next
Hands are too short!
The minute hand extends out to the minute track. 🤷🏾♂️
Especially I don’t like second hand. Aka lollipop 🍭 it’s short and ugly
Way too cheesy with that water resistance gimmick.
Disagree, I like it tbh but it's just a name. What's cheesy about it when people nickname watches things like batman, turtle, sumo, Pepsi, panda, tuna etc ?
Cheesy to some, a charming nod to history for others.
@@jollyrob Pepsi, etc are nickanmes. This one has 666 written on the dial as a gimmick
@@AndrewIsbell yea I said they were nicknames, I get it. I just don't think it's cheesy. I think it's fun and a change from things like superlative, certified etc
Screw this, get the doxa.
Meh. I mean the only reason I would wear it is if I was wearing a power tie in the exact same colour.
너 혼자많이질러라 테디!!!👎👎👎👎👎
Can't really call it a 'Dive watch' when it's only suitable for shower / swimming!
It is rated at 666 feet. I think that is considerably more than shower/ swimming.
@@a0r0a7 There is a massive difference between a pressure test in static water compared with a real life dive environment. The Bulova website states it's suitability as 'Showering and Snorkelling'
@@24934637 You might want to check what the ISO standard is for dive watches. You may be surprised for example that watches by Rolex in the submarnier and sea dweller range up until the 1980s technically fail to be a dive watch by todays standards. Bulova website reads:
Water Resistant to 200m Swimming, Showering and Snorkeling.
The Devil Diver or Snorkel gets its nickname from its 666-foot depth rating, which means that it is ISO certified with water resistance to 200 meters or 666 feet.
To be fair how many will actually use it for that purpose, not many. Same can be said for all the other dive watches out there, most are just desk divers because we love the look and style. This is a modern interpretation of a bygone era dive watch from the 70s. You either love or hate the style.
What? The watch is ISO certified!
@@nikchatou5133 😁
Bulova just doesn’t make the cut for me.
What a great watch, and what a pity as well. Would've bought this watch in a heartbeat, but because of that sinister dial wouldn't even touch this. Bulova made a huge mistake and basically ostracized Christian buyers. Poor choice.
