Do not fear the man in a brand new battle tank, fear the man in a battle damaged armoured car, for he has gone into battle with no armour and lived.
1000 players were asked what scares them the most in the game. 5% said Battle tanks, another 5% said queues but 90% said 2 crazies in an armored car.

I havent played Foxhole but I do play RTS games like C&C and nothing scares me more than APCs with anti tank units and rocket buggy spam.

They are cheap and reasonable good off-road, i always wondered why they are never used in assisting inf pushes or tank escorts
It can't tank hits like a tank therefore people think it sucks.

This thing is a nightmare if you're infantry and the enemy has one on the field. It is extremely effective as anti-infantry. Infantry supports the tanks, tanks support the AC, AC supports the infantry. The triad.
Off road is abysmal

Finally picked foxhole back up today, I joined an open squad, got recruited in a regiment became tank commander of a tank that an idiot left in the port, and killed 3 outlaws and 15 infantry. Overall an good game

Always have an armored car around tanks and infantry. They are very helpful in deterring infantry from attacking your guys. Its also fantastic for securing logi routes. One or two of these bad boys in the back lines can easily keep away the pesky partizans. Meanwhile the rest of your team does not have to send much needed infantry and tanks to the back. They are free to keep the fight going while you help hold everything under control.
You know what I like about the armored car plan? The fact that it leaves more components for us builders, who these days have been unable to get to Tier 3 because the fields are constantly empty, and for some reason we have more tanks than we can man.
Seriously though, why are we forced to share a resource with tankers? Wouldn't it make more sense to rename sulfur Pyrite (which has both sulfur and basalt, which is common rock), and then turn that into gravel in a refinery, to then put in a cement mixer? It's really dumb how T3 works, because you can't even store components in a sea port or warehouse, it's an all or nothing thing. It's no wonder it's so hard to repair T3 bunkers, there's no spare components just lying around to be turned into cement.
Why it's a shared resource? Because it gives clans a decision on whether to put it into construction or armour. Decisions add depth to the game.
(Solo players often only build or make tanks, so sadly it doesn't really add that much depth for them.)
too bad there didn't exist 8 wheelers in the setting, 8 wheel AC would feel amazing to play because you can just dive up and down trenches

I absolutely love to mortar, and every time I go to the front me and my friend are the only mortar crew, and everyone is thankful we're doing it. idk why more people don't do it, it's fun as hell.

I say this with all honesty, I get more scared at a column of armored cars than I do with a column of tanks, because a group of tanks cannot stop a infantry charge Without having back up support, While I have seen full suicide regiments armed with only grenades get mowed down in a matter of seconds by armored cars with nothing helping them
Bro armored car is the only thing I use I love how good it is
I haven't played, but WW2 tanks are more designed for medium range combat not close quarters. As seen stickys or some dude with a gas grenade can take a tank out easy. An armored car helps alleviate those issues by being able to dodge and being cheaper from what I hear.
And while WW1 tanks were meant as trench clearers, there wasn't many effective at weapons out there other than mortars or other explosives.
My point of this is yes, armored car ftfw

I was playing foxhole and got stuck in the base because a guy a higher rank than me was afk in the doorway. So i killed him after waiting for like 5 minutes and asking him to move. Then, all the idiots started yelling at me like, "DUDE WHYD YOU DO THAT!?!?". I dont like people.

I was on the warden side and I thought we were going to lose but somehow we won this war which still has me thinking what happened to the Collis to make them lose
All about that combined arms, man. Your AC helped hold the INF rush against the bunker! / Protect the tanks from stickies.
If people think something is bad it's usually because they don't understand it's powers/limitations and where/when to use it.
Some wars ago I had a lil' 30mm tankette that I held onto for a long time, even when better tanks were coming out. It can make for useful bait.
Tanks support AC's, AC's support infantry, infantry supports the tanks. A front without AC's is lacking a piece of the triad. Anti-infantry AC's are an absolute nightmare for enemy infantry, and extremely hinders them from using close/mid-range anti-tank weapons.
And then the Devs gave the Wardens the Highwayman. Because the only thing Wardens ever want to use is tanks, and they did not have a tank that specifically kills armored cars and anybody who would jump out of the armored car with an Ignifist.
People don't respect the AC's, some wardens stole one of those AC's and I supported them with a silver hand, it was a great push on the holy city and that AC killed many collies!

i dont need a tank, me and one dude (that stole the half track from the enemy), put a 20mm, in it, and destroyed like 6 warden tanks. Idk why, but 20mm is soo fucking effective
yeah it's ani tank ammo. Tanks are def overrated. If more peeps picked up the other vics battles would be a lot more fun and interesting.
I went from Private to SGT in like 2 days, doing Logi. I haven't been promoted since, doing resource runs to the refinery and making it public, refueling harvesters, etc.
my first war in foxhole was like war 3 on shard 3 at the official launch. I was playing wardens in Kingston in west gate. 8 collie armoured cars flanked us and cut logi. we were all unskilled and had no way to kill them, they were too fast for our mamons. the town fell that day and then the relic and then hold fast. we were destroyed.
and that's why Westgate is still my favourite part of the map
Anti-personal vehicles go well with anti-bunker/tank vehicles. It also allows quick response to threats than on foot.

I mean anything that's immune to small arms fire and has a machinegun is pretty lethal against infantry, you're not a big enough threat for most AT to focus you first, but you'll be cleaning up any tank's infantry escort or breaking infantry charges

I really wanted to enjoy armored cars but only time it was somewhat useful was on a front where only infantry was present and only for about 10 minutes, after that every enemy infantry had AT guns in hand. On open fronts there is always a towed anti tank gun and if enemy tanks are present you might as well justs park the car somewhere and grab a mammon.
