Finally a man who's not showing of while banging bricks to the line at 30 bricks per minute rate... Passion, skills and pride is what makes that job so unique. Really pleasant to watch, thanks 👍
That's one hell of a garden wall Chris , Looks very smart and the fencing sets it off lovely. Should be proud of that , I would be. Must of been expensive , but worth it , Well done.
Im no bricklayer, have no interest being a bricklayer but just find these brick videos very satisfying to watch for some reason. Anyway, quality work there mate! Well done!
Its done to the very end, however there is one small section left. It is the wall that will close off the garden from the car parking space...about 500 brick in that. I have done some pathway walls too!!
Lovely job well built your a better bricklayer than most but can I just ask what was the reason for the double pillar at the corner when you go to 13.31 just looks abit too much surly could have just had one corner pillar ? Am Sure you had good reasons for it I am just curious 👍
What doesn't kill ya... Makes you stronger. Been laying bricks and blocks for nearly 30 yrs, average Block weights 15 kgs dry, bricks 3 kgs... Guys half my age struggle more than I ever had, Brick and Blocking ain't for the faint hearted.
@@foundationgood123 sorry Chris, it says it in the description. My apologies. I've being watching this series & learning loads. Thanks for making the videos
Fantastic job, well done. I might have missed it, but did you core fill those big pillars? If so, was there reo as well? Solid concrete the whole way through? Unrelated but here in Oz you'd never get away with those timber panels, they'd be weathered in two years. Aluminium of steel is the way to go here.
Top work Chris, have you ever used the ox 11 inch trowel, if you have , would you recommend, I want to change, I'm building 4inch solids,on flat,🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪
No I haven't, I have been considering getting one...I have a Marshalltown 11' and I like it even though I've been rough with it smashing the end off several times...used Gorilla glue to put it back😂
That was an epic build, Chris..... Superb mate. Were you the only trowel on it from start to finish? I like a challenge, but that would have been a struggle just laying on your todd!
Great wall but if you look at 0:27 on the first video a large part of it is very likely outside the boundary of the property, the boundary fence posts can clearly be seen. You need to be very careful about this sort of stuff, often these verge slithers are owned by third parties.
Lovely job mate but for gods sake get thet mortar board higher off the ground my backs killing just watching buy a couple of plasterer spots or use a hop up thank me later 👍 keep up the good work pal
I noticed the bee hive in earlier videos and guessed it was empty. We are second year bee keepers and our little friends don't like humans anywhere near them . Wonder what he did with the hive, it's not as if you can just move it. Might have been better feeding them and locking them in for a few days.

Epic wall that Chris. Must have taken a lot of time planning and setting out. Looks great.
Well from the start I followed the basics, measuring, levels from concrete FND, to line and spirit level and a good eye!!
Wondered if you could do a video about the different types of bricks / look of the bricks and cost. Great videos by the way.
Cool idea!
Really nice job.
Thanks!
Absolutely stunning job Chris. Just out of curiosity, how many bricks did you use of this job?
6000 "Maultings" bricks and 1000bullnosed blue bricks

Beautiful job.
Thank you!
Beautiful nice work 👍👍
Thank you! Cheers!
Quality workmanship bud 👍
Thank you! Cheers!
Both is cool - watching you to work and seeing the final result.
Thanks
What did you put inside the 6foot pillars? Mortar and rubble, any rebar?
Just mortar and weak mix of concrete

A crackin job its a credit to you
Quality of work 🧱⛏🧱
Much appreciated
Cracking job that is pal
at 4:16 i am not sure if i heard right, was it "6 ft above ground and 7ft down in the ground"? does 6ft wall require 7ft foundation?
No it was 12" in the ground about 4 courses down to the concrete FND!
@@foundationgood123 thanks for reply, nice job done.
Looks great mate. What did you pay per 1000 on the bricks? Sam
I don't know, the customer got them on a deal...I was on day rate.
Fantastic job. Where are you based?
That was an epic build, Chris..... Superb mate. Were you the only trowel on it from start to finish? I like a challenge, but that would have been a struggle just laying on your todd!
I was bro, and I got repetitive elbow strain my trowel arm locked up!!!
@@foundationgood123 One to be proud of, mate.
That's a nice wall mate!
Thanks!
Nice work
Thank you! Cheers!
So good and such pride in your work.atvb
How far out would I be if I said this job cost £18000 to build ??

Good day. Beautiful work. What is the composition of the masonry mixture? Does it contain lime?

Great job Chris.I like the look of those bricks, what are they?
They are called, "Maultings" a Dutch brick!!

Thanks a lot
How far do you travel Chris?
locally
Great and a difficult job
Thanks, and it was!
Nice work but I don’t like the corner at 13:30
I noticed the bee hive in earlier videos and guessed it was empty. We are second year bee keepers and our little friends don't like humans anywhere near them . Wonder what he did with the hive, it's not as if you can just move it. Might have been better feeding them and locking them in for a few days.
They had taken the honey the night before, the bees weren't happy! The hives have gone onto the farm opposite-:)
Chris Longhurst that makes sense, guess this was in August. Hope you get to try some honey. You have earned some. .
Only ever seen an apprentice butter up brick on edge like that before
I'm still learning😆
Chris Longhurst
Every days a school day brother. Finished job looked impressive!
Another good video spoilt by epileptic fit inducing music.
Can get a real good thick and big kneeling pad from screwfix 😀
Why are you randomly laying frog down sometimes??
They're solids, hundreds in the brick packs🥴
Ah i see, makes sense! Saves on mortar any how :)
China called, they want their wall back.
Graham Hunt 🤣🤣
I know it’s how your customer wanted it but that corner with the large and small pillars looks odd and out of place 2 me.
These bricks look better gloves rubbed
👍👌👌👌
👍
wel done//

Благодаря ти приятелю
They are pieerrrrssss not pillars
You are teaching again, try doing it panda face LOL
