They tried something similar here in America with the traffic cameras. It was defeated in traffic courts and state supreme courts EVERY SINGLE TIME due to one VALUABLE piece of FACT;;; no officer saw, stopped, and/or ticketed any of the "violators". Simply put... civilians don't issue traffic tickets.

That's why police have radios you moron, that was the officers personal phone.
In most cases there are only a few exceptions:
The phone is used for audio calls or playing music and secured in a mounting affixed to the vehicle
The phone is not secured but the use of the phone doesn't require the driver to touch the phone at all
The phone is used as a GPS and secured in a mounting affixed to the vehicle
The vehicle is an emergency vehicle or a police vehicle
These are the only exceptions and so evidently it is fine. This is the law in Australia at least but I imagine it would be similar in most western countries.

I think the problem is even worse than we think it is because they KNOW they shouldn't be doing it, still do it and get all aggressive when you call them out on it. I just don't understand what it's going to take for all the different countries to start taking using a cell phone while driving as a serious problem. Current fines and points off the license just isn't enough.

We have the technology... so Invent a phone dector in the car that detects phone use and reports it straight to the police by photos and you are fined that way. Cause if no one reports something how else is it gonna be detected?
Yes phone police is boring but some people care about the law and for those like these drivers who don’t care about at all cause problems for everyone. So know why people go out use cameras and dash cameras and upload it to the internet!! The police aren’t taking any notice in this sort of stuff.
In sweden we recently (in february i think) made it illegal to use the phone while driving unless its hands free.. But 9 out of 10 people that i see with their phone in their hands while driving is women.. Its not like theyre dangerous enough already while driving smh
There actually is a phone disabler that can be altered to kill all reception just in the driver seat area but they wont install it because people wont buy their cars. They will install them when enough politicians get their loved ones killed.

All I can do just worry about what I am doing, but I also have to admit that it's them type of people who can get me hurt or even killed, so to be completely honest! they do have the right to say something, especially when they cut right in front of you, or just push you out your lain, because I had it happen to me more than a dozen times, and it drives me crazy... I had this guy push me out my lain while making eye contact with me the whole time, and they always come back and say they didn't see me! which I have them on video looking right at me... One day somebody's going to get me hurt really bad, and that's when I am going to put a lawsuit on their ass...

Driving while distracted law should be - 1 offenders: $1000 fine and 30day suspension of driver's licence. 2nd offenders: $2000 fine and 60day suspension of drivers licence. 3rd and final offenders: Immediate cancellation of drivers licence and will have to wait 5yrs minimum to apply for a new driver's licence depending on severity. I think it's fair this way as long as Law Enforcement do thier jobs. POLICE can give each person 1 break to inform them onced pulled over but have it on file for the next time that individual gets pulled over again to give the good news.

I guess you need to do the same fine if they fiddle with the cars Navigation, Stereo, child, or passengers. I use my phone for my radio and GPS unit just like a car unit you sometimes need to touch the screen *sigh* And I'm a rider and it doesn't bother me when someone is at a light and takes a quick look at their phone.

Texting reduces your peripheral vision by up to 90%, doing that while looking down at your phone, you're completely unaware of your surroundings, combine that with being in control of a vehicle that can crush a human, someone on a bike/motorbike has every right to be pissed off, because their ignorance can not only injure but kill people on two wheels. He doesn't have to upload the videos, but if I myself see someone on their phone when I'm riding, I make sure to try and get them to put it down, I don't want to jump into my grave early because some idiot wanted to reply to their unimportant group chat, and I don't feel like I should give up my passion just to reduce my risk of injury.

That's how pedestrians get hit. They look at their phone waiting at a light and then turn into a pedestrian crossing the street. Happened to me when I was 17. In a queue they end up rear ending the next car due to the distraction like the guy @ 7:21 in that case he was distracted both by the cyclist and the phone but distraction is distraction.
I'm not going to explain how crosswalks work to you or how things that are stationary become unstationary. You should have figured these things out by age five, so I'm going to assume you're four and just say: do you have permission from your parents to be watching this type of content?

As a car driver and motorcyclist, I see no problem with people being on their phones whilst they are not in motion ie waiting for a light etc, who doesn't change their songs at a red light etc, if he's not moving he won't hit you or don't people think like that

I hate when people ask "are you the police" in response to a polite request not to use their phone while driving... It doesn't matter if they're the police or not, it's a moral obligation in order to prevent a potential collision and loss of life.
