- This video is a pechakucha (a presentation where ~20 slides are shown for ~20 seconds each) in which we examine the usage of kachina dolls and dances by the Southwestern U.S. Puebloans and the effects that Spanish colonialism had on this culture. This is a little bit different than my usual content which tends to be more focused on contemporary politics and economics, but if you enjoyed, please like and subscribe to support small channels like mine!! :)

I actually did a protection ritual asking for the Kachina spirits to protect me and my loved ones after the innovation I felt like I wasn't alone and I felt strong safety on myself my home property and everything it was a great experience and I still invoke them now for things I also do it for others for their problems😇🙏💙💙✨💯💯💯
You have used a phot of a Smoki snake dancer. You may want to look at the history of the smoki people, and see why that is a bad choice.
There are sensitive images in this video that should not be shown such as the snake dancers and the actual masks that are used in the dances. The children believe that the dancers are actually katsinas and not "human," thus to show the mask here, I think, is not appropriate. You should ask the Hopi Pueblo for permission to show these sensitive images.
Yet you speak of it like they can see but cannot read. Amazing!
Wow I wasn’t initiated yet
And my brother
Could you explain the kivas a little bit more please?
Yeah!! I noticed that that might be confusing. But they were basically dark, underground, but ventilated rooms under the Pueblos for dancing around a fire and doing other ceremonies even including sex
You are ridiculous!
@@utopianeconomics5814 no wow!! That is not wat happened!!! I’m disgusted by ur dirty mind
As a hopi member I forbid you not to b providing false information..75 % of the information is incorrect..

Same Borat voice since that is how you communicate.
I first discovered Kachina in Tony Hillerman's novel "Dance Hall of the Dead." In that book it is said that the Kachina are ancestral spirits and that they belong to the Zuni. Is that correct? So do Hopi and Zuni have the same myths? When I hear that Christianity, especially Catholics, has destroyed every religious tradition or culture, I always regret it very deeply. A great video, congratulations.
Nope not true ..if u want to know the true .you need to come out to Hopi n find out yourself.. this video is false information most of it ..
This is all b.s

Well, this video is meant for educational purposes and it isnt always meant to be 100% accurate, even as a half blooded hopi these type of videos are meant for education aid to students, teachers etc. The pictures you listed could be representations or replicas of what the ceremonies would be like so that the viewer could make an image in there mind.
