Thank you Neil and Phil for openness and honesty. My closest friend who I met later in life had struggled with crack addiction due to childhood trauma. Long story short, he visited a shaman (in the UK) through a chance conversation with someone. He went through a ceremony which I think lasted the best part of a day and then was taken care of for another couple of days. He said during the ceremony that all the pain and shame from his childhood felt like it was concentrating and intensified into a smaller and smaller area in his chest. The pain became unbearable and he says it was like nothing he could ever had imagined. He felt it intensify into a tiny spot, then suddenly leave his body. Following this, he felt drained and exhausted and fell into a deep sleep. The following days as he was cared for, he said he felt a calm that he’d never imagined was possible. 25 odd years on, he’s one of the most placid people you could meet. Not without problems, like us all and still struggles with concentration sometimes, but has no hurt. It was explained to him that after the ceremony that he had to change the circle of people around him and he was lucky enough to have that option. Today he’s only one of two people that I can trust with my life. He’s helped me deal with the anger that had been tearing me apart, following a wave of breakdowns a few years ago. A real diamond and not ‘just another fucking junkie or pisshead’ Granted, not everyone has opportunities like this and the option to move away from the people causing harm, but I hope that people read this and maybe have hope and not think these treatments are BS, as well as also helping us to talk openly with maturity and consideration about addiction and mental health. Good on you guys 💙
Thank you for sharing your friend’s powerful story. It's inspiring to hear how he found healing and support. Conversations like this are so important for raising awareness about addiction and mental health.💪🏼

Buxton is a posh place, they get out the bath to have a slash there ! I used to work in matlock for a while. Funny I think I've met this man before? Did he go undercover at raves and festivals ever?...
