I do similar, but i justvput it on a paper plate and into the microwave for 1 minute. Start with 45 seconds, then longer if needed. I find 1 minute is just right for my microwave. Then just crush the leaves. You also pick bunches of parsley and put them standing up in a coffee cup to dry. Just make sure they are not in an area where they would collect dust. You can do the same with thyme.
