If there's anybody that can get it back on the road Martin's the man 💯
Great video Martin and Alice
Biggest money pit I ever bought was a paccar motor. RUN RUN RUN. The excessive expences never end.
I think this truck is done with having that experience. Lol
@@TruckingTogether i hope so . My last $35000 expence made it from Peterbilt in Charlotte to Peterbilt in Birmingham. Thats where i let it get repossesed. In 364 days. The truck had 3 payment defferalls. And was in the shop a total if 192 days. All paperwork given to bankrupsy.
I think your utube page is by far 1 of the very best. Check the mounting bracket that holds your air dryer on the new pete. Mine broke at 72 mph. AD hit the road n I went for a ride. Please check it.
Will be interesting watching Martin work on this. It will keep him busy.
Heck ya martin can fix it he’s shown to be quite the mechanic ❤
Congrats on the new project
Nice project. I’ll enjoy the future videos.
If you can, I'd recommend pulling that Paccar MX 13 and replacing it with a Detroit. Those PACCRAP 😁 engines from that generation (especially the '15) have a nasty habit of the camshaft breaking (it wasn't heat treated right, I was told when it happened to me) and it took out, you guessed it, the number 5 cylinder. The engine has to be pulled to get to the camshaft to replace it, then of course you've got to replace the valves, head, injectors, sometimes the piston, etc. The truck itself was down for almost two months while PACCAR decided how it was going to get fixed (Canadian-registered truck and warranty, and it broke down in the US).
There was supposedly a recall from PACCAR about that issue a few years ago. The camshaft let go on the '15 Pete 589 I was driving - I was going down the Cajon Pass on I-15 in California - and I was barely able to limp it in to the Peterbilt dealer in Ontario.
1 of my many problems number 5 did the same. The injecter tip broke in went thru the turbo n out the exhaust. 3000 dollar wrecker bill alone.
Nice 2 see the progression of the Black Diamond Express
Nice looking semi
Oh! A Saturday video? Great!
I like the red highlights Alice
Well this will be a interesting series of videos fixing the atm
Good project. Martin always have to have something interesting to do at home!😂
Surprised you bought a paccar. I love mine and my previous one
All righty then should be fun and stressfull to be rebuilt unless you put a whole brand new engine in it
Going to enjoy watching you get this truck ready for the road. I enjoyed and learned from your last rebuild in California.
Love it
It will be fun to see you bring to life Martin!!!👍👍👍👍
Gonna be real interesting watching Martin figure out how to rebuild a PACCAR MX13. Looks like it has the potential to be a really nice truck. Can't wait to see the end result.
It will be a head scratcher for him, but he will get it running. He has the ability and knowledge.
Safe Travels out there
New project for Martin I'm sure he'll do a great job in redoing
Yes sir nice project
Way to go Martin. You needed a hobby. I suppose your partner will get alot of windshield time until the ATM is functional. I'm glad you saved another manual. I look for Fancy in every Kwik Trip I go by. Stay safe. JM
Hey there Martin, slow RV guy here, nice to get one cheap enough that something good just almost has to happen to ya ! I do the same thing with RVs from time to time also. Really like watching the wrenching on stuff.
Yall take care be safe 🙏
👍❤️ love it 💪🏻✌️☮️
Hey Drivers, it’s been a minute, good luck with her, Happy Trails drivers, be safe!
Thxs 4 sharing
Pretty exciting. Can hardly wait for upcoming shows. Martins Mechanic and Rebuild has moved east. YEE HA
Good morning y'all
Look forward to seeing you working on this truck
Can't wait until you get started on it where to go Martin good luck buddy have fun
Best of luck with it! My boss has a bunch of those Mx-13s sitting keep blowing injectors out. If I remember correctly one of the mechanics said they can’t fit a Cumapart under the hood of them. Hope it turns out good for you.
There’s 2 different 579 hoods, 117” bbc and a 123” bbc. This one is the 123”.
@@TruckingTogether Didn’t know that they had 2 different sizes. Think it may be a challenge getting it going but interesting. Looks like it was a nice truck at one point. Hope it turns out good
Have you ever considered talking up fishing?
i cant wait for these videos.. definitely a learning curve when it comes to paccs . even better it comes with an apu so if you do decide to sell it youll make a good retun on it
Looking forward to plenty of rebuild videos 🤞👍
oh hello there! yea! the Trucking Together Show! woop... woop.. lunch Pete!! potential going both ways!! makes cense! this is get'n cool now!! ah!! wood floor! I see U in my dreams O'le Pete!!!
Good morning yall lol cool open with ice cream
Man, i hope martin shows videos of the repairs. He is going to have it running like a top i just no it .great find, guys 👍
New project sweet🎉🎉🎉
Guys, what a suprise, but I love it. You guys can take better control of your destiny using Martin’s knowledge and experience . If you keep it or sell it, it should be a major win in the win column. Alice you dyed your hair. How do you like the new color. With your glasses on I could not get a great look see. Wow Martin I am excited for sure. Hey maybe this is one of the ways you guys could be making money, buy them cheap, bring them back to specs or better and then off to the resale market. I think by doing the green Peterbilt then the 379, you probably got a look see on what the market will bare and how much money is there to be made. By taking on a new rebuild will that hamper your doing the leaf springs on the W-900 L. Love the directions you guys take. Always well thought out. But always coming from left field, not a clue what’s going to happen, just here it is. I like how you always pull a wabbit out of the hat. You wabbit pullers. Ahh guys what a suprise. What a great video. You guys really know how to stay on top. Alice gets a new hair color and Trucking Together gets a new rebuild. The old one two punch. Awesome guys, just Awesome . Have a great and a safe day. Happy trails to you, D…
Heck yeah can’t wait for the progress
Let the series begin i hope.
Nice truck, good luck
Greetings 2 everyone
Should be a quick flip .🤞
Hey. How are All U doing!? Lol , Wow, Really Got Another Truck, Project at That!! U Just Sold Tiny With a NEW REBUILT MOTOR that MARTIN DID Himself!! In Videos Already Been Talking bout The Bad Load Rates, Most Not interested in and then Buy Truck That NEEDS Work to RUN, Be Road Worthy unless Sale Like other Person Did! I Would Put Money in Fancy by Rebuilding Engine, Put New Rear Ends / Differentials, or Something NOT Another TRUCK!! Any HOO, be Watching to See What Happens Next!! Do What U Love, Love What U Do! Take Care Amigos 😇💪😎
You gotta have more of an open mind than that to succeed in life these days my man.
Goodluck!
You guys always suptirse me,, Cant wait to see it throwing some coal...
Just had to get a new project to work on.
I’m to bored at home. My wife keeps taking my job. 😂
Like the colour hope you keep it lol
Hire me to drive it after you bring it back to life……
Martin got a new project, this in my opinion is a good idea. If you all can find and fix used trucks this could be a money making opinion. Stay safe and enjoy your videos
Are ya gonna replace the paccar or put a big kitty or Cummins in er with a 18spd. Definitely a nice truck to fix up and make it something more with yer touch on it Martin and Alice.👍🇺🇸
Maybe something along those lines.
Martin, all you need now is a Shop to work on it!! Now that you are in Wisconsin outdoor repair time is limited because of the weather.
Joe P
I have a Dave in Minnesota.
@@TruckingTogether How far is that from your Home? Can you get there easily?
Just a 4 hour drive.
@@TruckingTogether "just a 4 hour drive"!! Only a true trucker would say that!!
Being a 10spd might be worth getting a wrecked truck and swapping a Cummins into it and send the paccar parts down the road.
I do to motorcycles what you do to trucks. I’ve learned when to just STFU, smile, and hand over cash, and I’ve learned when to make a break for it and run like hell.
Seeing the right side of that block, and all the crap stacked in the cab, I had the urge to drop my iPad and start running. 😂😂😂😂
Aye, aye, aye, good luck. Ooof. I can’t imagine.
That doesn’t bother me, I got the truck cheap enough where the engine is just a paperweight.
Hi guys how are u
he can do it . what concerns me the most is? i can not figure out what color miss Alice’s hair is , rose ? sir gonna enjoy watching this truck turn into the cool beast, stay safe
Think I would engine swap for the Cummins if you can find one. People seem to hate these backwards built Mx engines.
Nice truck
Paccar motor boy that's going be a tuff one to fix you will be better off to find a cummins and swap it out
12.7 Detroit would look good in there
Not enough red or DOHC for what I do.
Hi Alice & Martin! I dont see why you shouldnt be able to fix this. If you got the time you will figure it out. Perhaps you learn that the Paccar engine is a good one. There are many in european trucks. Love your content!!
Hello Hey Hi And Howdy Yall 👋
Cummins swap would be the thing to do spend money to make money
Gotta have a project LOL LOL
Great video I’m on my second truck with MX13 paccar first on was a 2015 ran it over million miles and only had to do injector cups and regular maintenance and my second one is a 2020 with 250,000 miles and been real happy with the way thy work so far great fuel mileage
Glad it’s been a good engine for you.
Martin if you need the British to show you how’s it done you know you got my cell 😁😁🇬🇧🇺🇸
Come on over
@@TruckingTogether will catch up as soon as I can sort load to your way 👍
Sweet
Throw a 60 series Detroit in it or a n14 Cummins
Great engines but both plagued with their own sets of problems. I don’t think either of those will be an option.
It's a project truck but when will Martin have time to build it? Best of Luck guys.
I got a wife that drives lol
can make more fixing em than driving now
If your new truck or any of your other trucks need a new motors check out scania no dpf and still tier 4 compliant . Just a suggestion in case you didnt think of it . And they do have a 770 hp lol
Would be cool but that’s not gonna happen. To expensive and they’re still a ways away from making it a reality in the US.
@@TruckingTogether International have started putting the base model Scania motor in there new trucks
@@TruckingTogether they have a warehouse in texas and international is using them same with doosan and abunch of other equipment all you can do is inquire who knows it mabe comparable to cummins
Cummins actually builds their fuel system and they use, or used holset turbos. Which is also Cummins. I wouldn’t put a 12 liter in here, sure a v8 would be cool, but then you need a scania trans with a retarder cuz they have no engine brake and so on. The s13 is probably $45k engine. I won’t have over 25k on this when done.
Pull that junk out put a cat or a Detroit in it 😂😂
You guys have to be kidding. I wouldn't even think about it for the price i heard you say.
what price was that
A good move ! Perhaps a fix and flip
Not something I would do,especially in today's market!
But what the Hell, NoGuts, No Glory, Right !?
For the price? Can’t go wrong.
Upgrade the dilly daf motor to a cummins?
Martin. Preference Stick or Automatic in a truck ?
I like both honestly. When the autos first came out they kind of sucked, but nowadays the 12 speed autos between ishift, dt12, or the Eaton endurant, are pretty decent and make driving a breeze. If given an auto I wouldn’t turn it down.
You finally got a truck the right color! How on earth are you going to move that thing?
I have a BFF with a rgn he’s a 🐟
Boat 🚢 Anchor ⚓️
They make great boat anchors for sure.
Look at that hair color on Alice !!!!! Oh yeah you bought a Truck . LOL
Hey Martin afternoon I got a project truck just like that one if your looking for another one for 10k 2014 t680 with 13 speed 280 wb 8" straight pipes pretty much similar to that situation just tired of trying to get it back on the road and got a 386 pete now.
Get rid of the paccar junk
black not your color scheim. messed up big time when u sold green. that truck had alice written all over it.all it needed was the topend run to make jake brake more effective. mike..
Actually it had Peterbilt written all over it not Alice. Wishful thinking on a cat engine brake working at full potential and it would still only be maybe 40% of an isx. It needed Jake housings rebuilt or replaced, slave was sticking for sure as you can hear it. But even at full working order when it sometimes wanted to it wouldn’t hold back a 15k lb load. Like every cat. Also selling a 5mpg truck and replacing with a 7mpg truck that didn’t need rear end housing or 2 pretty soon, I’d say was a good idea.
How many miles are on it? The heads are under warranty until 750k
Not on a epa13. The head here is not the problem.
What up guys that's it.
So I guess you're going to work on it there or take it home or take it to your shop.
Stay tuned for the next episode of trucking together orbit or maybe it'll be trucking apart.🤔🤘🏽🤟🏽😎🪶✌🏽🌮😋
What?? It is not RED!!
Man, one of you two dont like Martin
Well one of us is Martin so I’d be hard not to like myself.
Did you get that out of Dubuque?
Yep.
What do u mean by preload martin
Bearing preload. Or possibly bad bearing.
👍👍🇺🇸
Have you thought of taking up fishing?
I use to be a pretty avid fisherman back in the day.
Give a man a fish and he’ll eat for a day. Teach a man to drive a truck and he’ll spend the rest of his life wishing he was fishing.
Ok 👌
Martin rip that Dutch And Fcked mx13 out they crap motors here i remember back in the DAF used put cummins motor in and paccar bought Foden trucks they used the DAF cab and running gear but didn't use the DAF motor but used cat's and Cummins so put something old school and old kitty or a old red top hummin cummins and run log books 🤣
Dutch and fcked 😂😂😂😂 I like that. Yeah I’m not even going to mess with it.
Put a Cummings in it and forget it 👍
Don’t waste your time on those Paccar engines, just sayin!
How are you doing Mr. Martin and Miss ALiSE NORM Kolenda 1944 from Marlette Michigan When did you get your new black international Miss ALiSE when I get my pick up truck done and when I get my car hauler done how can I send you a picture of my 2014 Duramax 371 pick up truck and are you planning on putting a whole bunch of lights on your new semi truck miss ALiSE and Mr. Martin from Wisconsin cheese state
You are buying this truck? How much $10,000.00?
we bought it. and less than that
@TruckingTogether It will be a dandy when you get it running. The transmission is all right but a Thirteen speed would be even better.
