The Omega Crux was a sanded pearl and was great (for me). When Storm finally combines the Catalyst weight block with the AI core, I'll be the first in line.
The Crux line will probably make it's way back into the lineup in the AI core. It was 4-5 years ago when they made those balls and the Crux Prime was a monster, so I could see it back in the line up to replace the DNA and Absolute.
My only gripe is that the Blackout nomenclature had been synonymous with REX pearl, Clean and continuous ball reaction. I feel like it is slightly misleading if you don't pay attention to the details. I have the same gripe with the Envy Tour, since the Envy had been related to the core shape and its variants, but all of the sudden it is the obsession tour core, and the Envy cover. I just like consistency
Good stuff as always. Like to see this ball w the new polish, bet it still reads the midlane pretty well w alittle more bounce. Might make it a better 2 ball behind my H Reality solid
Threw it tonight. Factory surface has me scratching my head. Both this and the ASS2 are completely different balls by the end of practice and game 1. Who does that help? Might as well start at 3k-4k. Rant over.
Probably too much for the average league bowler right out of the box, but I don't think it's supposed to be a regular league ball. Cover formula is a lot stronger than the ASS2, so not surprised there, but yeah, probably need less surface for league.
Really depends on a lot of things, so I can't really say. What kind of balls do you normally throw or what normally looks good for you? I'm going to say probably no just because it's so smooth, but if you have enough oil for it and play straighter, maybe.
@LukeRosdahl REX to me feels like 1 of the most sensitive coverstocks to surface changes is all I'm saying lol. OOB definitely one of cleaner asyms, hit it with a 2k pad and it's one of my smoothest pieces lol.
Magic Gem is much earlier and heavier rolling, lot different reaction shape. Very chuggy, slows down a lot, this one is cleaner and more rolly, doesn't want to slow down much.
6:50 - "good option when you need to blend but it's still fresh" is a really helpful summary

I love putting surface on pearls. Zen and Eternity got more useful after hitting with 1000 pad then Skuff

Yep, don't disagree at all.
I like the thoughts at the end. Physix Blackout 👍

Would love to see it vs the x-cell
Might be able to happen, this one has the stronger cover, but the X-Cell is more dynamic, so probably end up feeling fairly similar
What was the layout for the imax for this one?
45 x 4.75 x 75

Where is the link for custom bowling products? I would love to make a shift knob for my car
In the description, the email address for "bowling ball art and products"
Strengthwise, how would this compare to the cover on the Jackal Ghost?
The cover formula is in very similar territory, the Ghost also has that strong but sharp kind of reaction to it.
For a speed dominate bowler would it be a good first ball for house shot on league night

Am I the only one that loves calling the Lightning BlackOut the L-BO? 😂
Not anymore lol, I'm stealing it
I've also called the long winded name balls by their acronyms. Just so much easier to say 3-5 letters than some of these goofy names
The crazy part is that huge gap front to back between the vebo and this physix blackout gets really small if you hit the vebo with a 2000 pad lol
Well and he mentioned that, of course surface makes a ton of difference, but he still thinks this one is going to be the earlier stronger ball.

Ugh I would probably love it but I suck too bad and just aren't enough into bowling anymore to justify getting it.
Luke, where do you see this compared to the Magic Gem?
Magic Gem is much earlier and heavier rolling, lot different reaction shape. Very chuggy, slows down a lot, this one is cleaner and more rolly, doesn't want to slow down much.
Imax😂😂😂 Would the Ion Pro be the IPro?
Lol sure
So if I get this ball, would it be allow me to no longer buy those big balls like the xcell or imax or harsh reality?
I'm not sure what you mean by that?
@LukeRosdahl if I don't have any of those balls yet. Will the physix blackout be able to fill that gap?
Yeah it's definitely up near the top of the list strength wise.
What is in his back pocket? A counter-weight? 😂
Lol his wallet. I couldn't bowl with anything in my pockets.
