We've been praying about that. We moved to north Michigan wanting to start a community just like they have in Moscow, but the churches are so dead and hostile here...

Thank you for this, Pastor Wilson. My heart along with much of the nation has been heavy thinking about the fear and pain your community has undergone. A desire to be a healing balm instead of itching powder during the season your city has entered into seems the more appropriate. Blessing to you and the people of Moscow. May God help you all.
Yeah, sure. Just about every other page in the Old Testament has God killing somebody! In 2 Kings 10:18-27, God orders the murder of all the worshipers of a different god in their very own church! In total God kills 371,186 people directly and orders another 1,862,265 people murdered The God of the Bible also allows slavery, including selling your own daughter as a sex slave (Exodus 21:1-11), child abuse (Judges 11:29-40 & Isaiah 13:16), and bashing babies against rocks (Hosea 13:16 & Psalms 137:9). This type of criminal behavior should shock any moral person. Murder, rape, pillage, plunder, slavery, and child abuse can not be justified by saying that some god says it’s OK. If more people would actually sit down and read the Bible there would be a lot more atheists like myself. Jesus also promoted the idea that all men should castrate themselves to go to heaven: For there are eunuchs, that were so born from their mother’s womb: and there are eunuchs, that were made eunuchs by men: and there are eunuchs, that made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven’s sake. Q: Doug, do you have a response to the national news in Moscow concerning the students? It would be good to get a local preacher's perspective and maybe it could serve as an olive branch.
Olive branch to whom? What a choice of words. I do hope you are not even hinting that all residents of Moscow somehow bear responsibility for crimes committed within the jurisdiction?
@@ZephaniahL Of course not! Some of us would like to hear how a biblical church would respond to this tragedy from victim to accused. Perhaps they are waiting until more facts come out. It would be interesting to see Doug's take on the accused obsession with darkness, which may have begun without intent. But when we wallow in depravity without the Holy Spirit keeping our focus on Christ, we can succumb to the darkness. Sadly, it can happen to police, attorneys, doctors, soldiers, and others who deal with darkness.
Isn't there some law or something (I'm not American so bear with me) that if 150 reside together in an area they can establish an independent town - elect its own government, establish its own police force, and make its own laws? (I saw this in a documentary about this religious cult in America which did this very thing). So, why doesn't Doug Wilson do this with Moscow?
Sir, I wish more Christians had your worldview. "All of Christ for all of life." I also like "Its Christ or chaos." My religious upbringing was as a fundamental pentecostal. They meant well, but they were not instructed well. The outcome was predictable. Most if the youth left the church. We "knew" our Bibles, or so we thought. Any believer that doest have a biblical worldview is at an awful disadvantage. That small stone that Daniel saw eventually filled the whole earth. So be it.
Daniel did not see a small stone because it wasn't his dream. It was Nebuchadnezzar's dream, and God revealed the details of the dream to Daniel. Nebuchadnezzar also never stated that the stone in his dream was small. He simply said that he saw a stone that wasn't made by human hands destroy the statue. No size was ever specified, aside from the fact that it eventually became a mountain that encompassed the earth.
@@theeternalsbeliever1779, you are correct. He saw a stone, not a boulder. The stone filled the whole earth. It never changed its composition as it grew to fill the whole earth. Point being what God started, He will finish. Al this secularism will be ground smaller than dust. The truth of the gospel of the kingdom will fill the whole earth. Jesus Christ will see all of his foes made his footstool. The paradigm of "Christendom" will submit to the paradigm of Christ revealed in scripture, or it will become chaff. These are exciting times.
Aye aye, we feel the helpful rumblings here in faraway South Africa! And are greatly encouraged ... and reminded too that God is Sovereign, His call irrevocable, His commission unchanging ... and reminded who the enemy is not. Strongs!
Some of you may not believe me, but I do appreciate the sentiment of extending the olive leaves. That said, there is a barrier that I can't see being overcome. You have expressed views that if come to pass would remove freedoms for citizens of Moscow. I'm aware of where these views stem from. It is not from a source that any of us are obligated to recognize. As such, we humans are stuck resolving this on our own. I am not opposed to a resolution of the barrier at all, I merely cannot see a path of resolution. I look forward to seeing what you have planned.
It simply is not true to claim that Doug Wilson has "expressed views that if come to pass would remove freedoms for citizens of Moscow." If you attempted to state what Doug Wilson said and how those views would remove freedoms the falsity of your claim would be obvious to all which is why you did not do so.
@@tomcoyne2690 I find it interesting that even though I didn't specify you immediately concluded that what I said was false. How fantastically curious...What will you do if I prove you wrong I wonder... Mr. Wilson has specifically expressed that he would have the institution of homosexual marriage removed. That seems to specifically adhere to my words. Am I mistaken?
@@joejohnson9499 You are mistaken. "Homosexual marriage" is not a "freedom." It is an abomination, a lie, and a curse. The most liberating thing you could possibly do for someone who wanted to enter into a lie such as "homosexual marriage" is simply to tell them "No!" There is no such thing. They should not delude themselves. "God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap. For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life." This is the truth.
@@tomcoyne2690 While I understand that you have feelings and/or theology on the matter, such is irrelevant. In America, it is a legal institution. Therefore in America it is a freedom, again regardless of what you or God thinks about it. Also, I would point out again, it is currently a legal institution. Legal institutions say nothing on spiritual matters. I find it curious you're focusing so much on what is of this world. @@joejohnson9499 You say unintelligent things. "Homosexual marriage" is no more a "legal institution" in America than were abortion or slavery. Ohh, look. Two Bible verses, ripped completely out of context, and offered without any reference whatsoever to the rest of Scripture. So ... what exactly is your point here??
@@PanhandleFrank You know perfectly well what my point is. The wearing of masks and remaining alone during sickness is not only reasonable and considerate, it is also biblical.
@@Steelmage99 With all due respect, no, I DIDN'T "know perfectly well what your point was." Again, you copy-pasted two Bible verses with absolutely ZERO context. To be precise, isolation is Biblical when you are manifesting the symptoms of sickness, not "just everybody do it because there's a bug going around." (And not only am I pretty sure there's nothing in the Mosaic law about masking, but bandanas, neck gaiters, and even surgical masks, do nothing to prevent the spread of respiratory viruses.) Lastly, perhaps you missed the part where the City of Moscow admitted that their restrictions on public worship were unlawful, by dropping all charges against those arrested.
"They that are whole need not a physician, but they that are sick" another bible verse, that one from Matthew. Here's one more, this one from Leviticus: 13:11 ... it is a chronic skin disease and the priest shall pronounce them unclean. He is not to isolate (quarantine) them, because they are unclean. Did you catch that? You are not to isolate the unclean who are non-contagious. Now why not? Because in the Creator's wisdom there's something called community-immunity (dynamical-immunity aka herd immunity): it turns out you damper immune systems of old and young when you unnecessarily quarantine persons for protracted periods. The MSM science will bear this out to you within the next 1-2 years. Science journals are already out en masse on the subject, if you care to take a look. And no, I won't do your homework for you. Go to jstor, and have at... cheers
And just in case you are thinking that the evil and immoral laws of the Old Testament are no longer in effect, perhaps you should read where Jesus makes it perfectly clear: It is easier for Heaven and Earth to pass away than for the smallest part of the letter of the law to become invalid (Luke 16:17). There are many more quotes on this topic at my Do Not Ignore the Old Testament web page. I know that most Christians believe that God is a good and loving god, and wants people to do good things. I believe that most people want to do good things and behave morally. I also believe that many Christians haven’t really read the Bible, or just read certain passages in church. This is understandable, as the Bible is hard to read due to its archaic language and obscure references. Also many priests and preachers don’t like to read certain passages in the Bible because they present a message of hate not love.
It is loving to warn those who are stumbling to destruction of the wrath to come. Matthew 5:17 “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. Romans 7:12 So the law is holy, and the commandment is holy and righteous and good. 1 John 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments. And his commandments are not burdensome. Romans 7:7 What then shall we say? That the law is sin? By no means! Yet if it had not been for the law, I would not have known sin. For I would not have known what it is to covet if the law had not said, “You shall not covet.” 1 Timothy 1:8-10 Now we know that the law is good, if one uses it lawfully, understanding this, that the law is not laid down for the just but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for those who strike their fathers and mothers, for murderers, the sexually immoral, men who practice homosexuality, enslavers, liars, perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to sound doctrine, Psalm 119 It is my meditation all the day. Your commandment makes me wiser than my enemies, for it is ever with me. I have more understanding than all my teachers, for your testimonies are my meditation. I understand more than the aged, for I keep your precepts. I hold back my feet from every evil way, in order to keep your word. I do not turn aside from your rules, for you have taught me. How sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth! Through your precepts I get understanding; therefore I hate every false way.
I more or less agree with this, but i disagree the premise of why many preachers and priests don't like to read certain passages in the Bible. They don't like to read them because God's laws contradict their traditions. That is why literally most Catholic and Protestant churches ignore Deut. 12, even though they claim the Bible as being the source of their beliefs and moral authority.

Jesus said, “He who is not with me is against me, and he who does not gather with me scatters” (Matt. 12:30). Those seeking to secularise society, or that claim that was the intent of the founder often claim that this position is the most reasonable because it is the only one that’s neutral-the only one that’s free from influences arising from religious beliefs. A brief suface reading of the founders will tell you that they did see the importance of America's founding on Christian principles, but were against a national church denomintation. They new that there is no such thing as neutrality. One of the foremost constitutional theorists of the founding generation, John Adams, observed, “Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious People. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.”1 He wasn’t the only Founding Father to hold this view. Indeed, James Madison wrote that our Constitution requires “sufficient virtue among men for self-government,” otherwise, “nothing less than the chains of despotism can restrain them from destroying and devouring one another.”
@UCth0C83mEhHBu_B3HeoQT7w Yes, for some reason my comment got disconnected from my reply to @chuckyfarley9465 and his assertion that there is neutrality in secularism. Not a reply to Doug as I find his statement thoughtful and reasoned as it always is.
Your representation of the United States being established as a Christian nation in Holy Trinity vs. United States is either misinformed or dishonest. Please address the point in detail.
@@zsaklong4619 just trying to have a polite discussion about an important topic. I wish to give Doug the benefit of the doubt, as to not accuse him of intentionally lying, so I'm asking him to defend his position.
Your confusion is in the word "nation." The United States is not a nation, but an ideology. It is a legal system often referred to as the "state." America, on the other hand, is not a state, but a nation. Nations are defined by the people living there. The majority of the people living here are Christians, therefore you can rightfully say America is a Christian nation. America is also a White nation, but even Doug Wilson can't grasp that fact. We are headed to the place where America will neither be a White nor Christian nation, but we not gotten to that point yet. Each American Indian tribe, whether it be Cherokee, Comanche, Sioux, Dakota, or Pueblo, Are also separate nations. 75 Indian tribes still require a blood test for membership which implies that race is a factor in defining their identity.
@@virtualpilgrim8645 I think that using the term "Christian Nation" as a description of the ratio of Christian to Non-Christian seems less than honest in the current discourse on Christian Nationalism. So ,I'm asking Doug Wilson to clarify his position. Does he believe the United States has ever had a national religion? This would run counter to the historical facts.

You say the counsel of Gamaliel is good counsel, saying: If your work is of men it will come to nothing. Gamaliel was of Belial, and his counsel was worthless, though what he said was true. All we who truly, truly believe in Jesus do not sit idly by saying: “All flesh is as grass, and it is coming to nothing, therefor let the children of perdition, and the lost sheep go on their way, let us simply wait on God inspite of His commands…” We recognize instead, that we have been called to an eternal work, in overcoming that which is passing away, in pursuing the lost sheep. I come to contest your evil works Douglas, because I recognize that it is good to contest the evil you practice. You seem to have forgotten your town is in mourning. Your churlish attempt at apparently presuming otherwise, is conceit at best, and malice: not counting the trial all joy. You are to count the trial a joy while mourning: not act as if your well wishes will be well received, and believed to be authentic, before going on to laud yourself. The trial is not yours really, though you can’t help but remind people of your own past trials as a pontification. You want to claim the town as your own, spiritually, so as to presume, the trial is more yours on account of your time in grade there. You’ve taken the time to remind everyone, that you’re all about doing the right thing, and that you’re without guile, and that this, lauding of yourself, is a sure sign of your intention to peace. You act as if now is the time to leave of your churlish tactics, while still being churlish, as if you know nothing else, while knowing exactly what you’re doing. You don’t need any evidence, or further news reporting to do these things: 1) Condemn the murders, as evil. You can explain why it’s important for you to clarify this, since several of your ministers have manifest abject sociological data pointing to incitement, including a condoning attitude, and acts of obstruction, which include using rhetoric, imagery, and juxtaposition that conveys a certain murderous profile, congruent with what occurred. This is specifically true of one Ben Zornes, one spiritually along for the thrill. 2) Take responsibility for your reviling of protective service. Post an apology and a thank you to the FBI for helping make your town there safe again, rather than just shifting your feet a bit from its previous war footing. Tell the good people of Moscow how thankful you are that the FBI is working hard to prevent people like Ben Zornes from getting lynched, on account of his making himself a red herring, for the fun of it. Please keep in mind, though Ben Zornes is being exonerated of the acts of the murders, terrorists never act without tacit support from presumedly moral authorities. It is yet to be seen if the murderer of the those four students acted politically. It’s been reported that his wild romp through Narnia, his slaying of “white witches,” his measuring of Lewis’ judgment to them, may have been motivated by a seminarian indignation towards certain kinds of sinners. Ben Zornes, and yourself, have been caught red handed, prophetically, trying to take advantage of the incident politically, so as to try and manipulate an outcome: your greater seminarianism. You say your church is hospice care, while implying, those you glean from the “Good people of Moscow,” are a product of their works not yours, and you’re the one’s in the business of cleaning up their messes for a small tithing fee relatively speaking. You seem to think the “Good people of Moscow,” would take this opportunity to thank you for the half hearted peace you’ve offered, as if to say: you’re the ones doing the real work of overcoming evil, though you mostly hide in inner rooms. 3) Recognize: the Caesars of this country are seminarian, even the atheists. They also like to tell people off to be left alone, while taunting that you’re bound to become one of them in your sleep. You have more in common with the Romanist and the athiest than you do with true believers in Jesus. To receive pay for spiritual ministry service is sorcery. This was the primary way sorcery was prosecuted before the time of Jesus: people were caught with the evidence, of them taking that which is earthly as payment for that which should be regarded as eternal. Sorcerers do not see life in Jesus Name. I offer you the Way of repentance Doug, I call you to practice as Zacchaeus practiced, to prove that you are truly a believer. God with me, God with all of us who believe, calls you to this repentance. You have deceived many into paying you taxes falsely called tithes. Jesus commands of all His ministry work: “Give without pay.” Every iota of money taken then, as payment, every red cent, for ministry service presumedly done in Jesus Name is extortion: sorcery. Why? Because every real act of ministry is a commingling of faith with faith: mutually beneficial, wholly equitous, and ultimately granted by God as an unmerited favor. You say you want to protect my freedom of speech, while implying you will sue me for it, if my preaching against your sin begins to effect your gainful employment. You claim you’re quick to report criminal activity to the “proper authorities,” as if your “scout’s honor,” is a currency to be bought wholesale. You should repent of your reviling first if you intend to sue me down the road. You know it’s a safe bet, that the free and excellent preaching of God’s Word is bound to put sorcery like yours out of business. What of the reviling Doug? Both God and the government of this country have been long suffering towards you. I have seen the banquets you’ve supped at. Come let us reason together. You boast of great numbers, a towns worth, of those who gather at your Tower of Babel, that God did not command be built. If you can’t overcome your own mute demons, don’t you have an army at your disposal to come and contend with me? Surely they follow you surreptitiously by also hiding in inner rooms. Perhaps tomorrow it will not be so.

Thank you, well said.
Ah, so winsome! ;-)
So be it.
I had a similar start as you. Then I learned the Doctrines of Grace. It changed my life. Soli Deo Gloria
Tell'em Doug!
Amen! All glory to God

@@PanhandleFrank yeah.
You are in this world, not of this world, right?
@@joejohnson9499 You say unintelligent things. "Homosexual marriage" is no more a "legal institution" in America than were abortion or slavery. All three practices are abominations before God and all are to be utterly opposed by right-thinking Americans. It was and is a corrupt act by corrupt men worthy of no more regard than a stolen election.

@jamesford6929 Hence his clarification "But in what sense can it be called a Christian nation? The wearing of masks and remaining alone during sickness is not only reasonable and considerate, it is also biblical.
@@Steelmage99 With all due respect, no, I DIDN'T "know perfectly well what your point was." Again, you copy-pasted two Bible verses with absolutely ZERO context.
To be precise, isolation is Biblical when you are manifesting the symptoms of sickness, not "just everybody do it because there's a bug going around." (And not only am I pretty sure there's nothing in the Mosaic law about masking, but bandanas, neck gaiters, and even surgical masks, do nothing to prevent the spread of respiratory viruses.)
Lastly, perhaps you missed the part where the City of Moscow admitted that their restrictions on public worship were unlawful, by dropping all charges against those arrested.
"They that are whole need not a physician, but they that are sick"
another bible verse, that one from Matthew.
Here's one more, this one from Leviticus:
13:11 ... it is a chronic skin disease and the priest shall pronounce them unclean.

There are no, "evil and immoral laws of the Old Testament." If you'd actually read the Bible, you'd know that. Be gone, troll.
It is loving to warn those who are stumbling to destruction of the wrath to come.

What then shall we say? That the law is sin? By no means! Yet if it had not been for the law, I would not have known sin. For I would not have known what it is to covet if the law had not said, “You shall not covet.”
1 Timothy 1:8-10
Now we know that the law is good, if one uses it lawfully, understanding this, that the law is not laid down for the just but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for those who strike their fathers and mothers, for murderers, the sexually immoral, men who practice homosexuality, enslavers, liars, perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to sound doctrine,

You say the counsel of Gamaliel is good counsel, saying:
If your work is of men it will come to nothing.
Gamaliel was of Belial, and his counsel was worthless, though what he said was true. All we who truly, truly believe in Jesus do not sit idly by saying:
“All flesh is as grass, and it is coming to nothing, therefor let the children of perdition, and the lost sheep go on their way, let us simply wait on God inspite of His commands…”
We recognize instead, that we have been called to an eternal work, in overcoming that which is passing away, in pursuing the lost sheep.
You don’t need any evidence, or further news reporting to do these things:
1) Condemn the murders, as evil.
Jesus commands of all His ministry work: “Give without pay.”
Every iota of money taken then, as payment, every red cent, for ministry service presumedly done in Jesus Name is extortion: sorcery.

The God of the Bible also allows slavery, including selling your own daughter as a sex slave (Exodus 21:1-11), child abuse (Judges 11:29-40 & Isaiah 13:16), and bashing babies against rocks (Hosea 13:16 & Psalms 137:9).
