I keep seeing a lot of negative comments on here and I just don't understand it. I love his older music too but music evolves just like people! Nothing will every hit me like Iris or Broadway or Slide will, they're all so different and this is just new and different too. He's grown up and so has his music. If you listen chronologically the music changes as he does. Different influences and events in his life change the music. I think we need to respect that his music had changed along with him. It happens to every artist, especially as they get older. It's just not cool to disrespect them for it. Not every song can be a greatest hit or sound like the other songs but it doesn't mean it's any less worth listening to.

It might not be Name, or slide, or here is gone, but it’s still nice. Plus goo goo dolls gives off a nostalgic 90’s vibe that no matter what they do. They will always be DOPE 😎😎😎

They are GREAT!!! I am American but live in England. I saw them perform last night At Rock City, Nottingham. Johnny and Robby both came out behind the venue and met people, signed autographs and allowed fans to take pictures with them. They didn't have to. Surely they were tired and had to travel on to play Birmingham tonight the 25th Feb. If they read this, which I hope they do, I was honored to meet them and have an autograph and a picture taken. Why can't people just comment civilly? I can understand if someone comes onto a video and says "I don't care for" or "I Love this video or song". But anything other than that shows how people have become nowadays. It saddens me more than angers me. Dizzy changed my life, and I have never stopped admiring johnny since. His evolution has been like all of ours. You can't hold on to one specific sound and attitude your whole life. Hes changed and evolved like we ALL do. Lessons, regrets, experience all put us in different places throughout our lives. And I for one am still waiting for the day I can see them live and let myself go with their music.
I had the privilege of meeting and knowing the GGD in the early days in Buffalo, NY. I was such a fan I wanted to start the first fan club. John was a beautiful person then and he is just as beautiful now. I appreciate his talent his ability to make us feel. I hope that John will continue to grace us with his music. The negative comments suck, especially the personal comments. They're really unnecessary, wrong and not how a supposed fan should act, imo. I'm thankful the guys still make new music and tour when other successful acts just rest on what they've accomplished. Goo Goo Dolls music is the one thing I can turn on that always makes me feel better or pumped up or just happy to be on this planet. They capture a mood better than any artist I know. Keep rocking guys.

Johnny and Robby deserve more recognition. I love them because the GGD divert from the corporate manufactured state of music today. They write whatever the hell they want to write and they do it so spectacularly. We need more music like this. Much like Gorillaz, they aren't tethered to one genre. Love it all.

Billy I think had a solo album that wasn't so good, it was just different but his follow up acoustic solo album I thought was really deep and just about every track is worth listening too. Maybe they will do one soon.

Never did. A shame as they were extraordinary. He didnt believe there was an audience and went on to the very lackluster Future Embrace instead. Supposedly John has an album's worth of quite good and gutwrenching solo acoustic songs from the Gutterflower period which never made it past the demo stage. Perhaps too personal for release though. That ship has sailed so to speak. I hoped the Otis Midnight shows would lead to something but unfortunately not. Easy listening pop it is then!
Saw them live in scranton they rocked! The whole place got up and sang along when they did this song I was surprised bc i cant ever find a radeo station playing I always have to look it up on UA-cam but everyone knew it and loved it!!! Another note I'd like to add is I can only hope I have thier energy when I'm in my 50s!! And both of thier voices have just gotten better over time like fine wine 😍😍😍
Every album you guys have made has helped me through some very difficult times in my life! I can’t thank you enough! So many songs have such a special place in my heart! I’m going to concert next week in Louisville and I’m beyond excited!
My 15 year old loves this song! I was happily surprised to find out it was Goo Goo Dolls. My daughter is going through a rough time right now and it doesn't feel like its getting better. I tell her everyday is new day. But listening to your mom isn't the way of the teenager. We both really needed a song like this. So, all I can say is great job and THANK YOU!
I don't get why people are upset with this song, personally I think it's pretty solid. The old stuff is obviously amazing but it's nearly impossible to replicate that same stuff in today's environment and boomers can't really understand that. Plus, this is only one song from the album and i'm sure that there's more guitar oriented goodness in there that most people are craving. Keep doing you guys and know that the real fans will have your back.
Virsa 80’s borns could relate to that vintage late 90’s early 2000 alt rock sound. 90’s born and 2000 born not too much. Times have change music has change the vibes have changed. @googoodolls this is probably one of the best written rock songs I’ve heard in years. Not sure John if you wrote it or co-wrote it, or even had it ghostwritten but holy hell that just shakes me to my core with every listen. Keep going strong.

I saw there are a lot of comments saying that this song is bad/garbage and I just want to say that you shouldn't immediately be discouraged from making songs that have a tone like this because there are more people that love you and your songs and that it is impossible to satisfy everyone
I honestly love this song. I've added it to my "favourite" playlist, and I really don't mind the change in tone. Most bands do one at some point and I'm really liking both the new and the old.

Been a big fan for years! Saw them with Train in Washington state, at the white river amphitheater, about a month ago. Great show! This video and all the surgery, not so much.
He gave us so much joy and memories from his music and all people seem to be able to say is negative things about his appearance, interesting. Everyone is human, people. we all age remember that.

Every album you guys have made has helped me through some very difficult times in my life! I can’t thank you enough! So many songs have such a special place in my heart! I’m going to concert next week in Louisville and I’m beyond excited!
My 15 year old loves this song! I was happily surprised to find out it was Goo Goo Dolls. My daughter is going through a rough time right now and it doesn't feel like its getting better. I tell her everyday is new day. But listening to your mom isn't the way of the teenager. We both really needed a song like this. So, all I can say is great job and THANK YOU!

I don't get why people are upset with this song, personally I think it's pretty solid. The old stuff is obviously amazing but it's nearly impossible to replicate that same stuff in today's environment and boomers can't really understand that. Plus, this is only one song from the album and i'm sure that there's more guitar oriented goodness in there that most people are craving. Keep doing you guys and know that the real fans will have your back.
Virsa 80’s borns could relate to that vintage late 90’s early 2000 alt rock sound. 90’s born and 2000 born not too much. Times have change music has change the vibes have changed. These young people now a days could never understand or Relate to a song like NAME! Lol it just goes over their skinny jean wearing and social media heads 😂😂😂

@googoodolls this is probably one of the best written rock songs I’ve heard in years. Not sure John if you wrote it or co-wrote it, or even had it ghostwritten but holy hell that just shakes me to my core with every listen. Keep going strong.

No, it isn't like their old music. And I am perfectly fine with their evolution. Personally, I love them through and through. The Goo Goo Dolls will always remain a favorite band of mine, and after seeing them in concert it only strengthens that. Had this song on replay since seeing it live. This song is absolutely killer and I love it!

Been a big fan for years! Saw them with Train in Washington state, at the white river amphitheater, about a month ago. Great show! This video and all the surgery, not so much.
