I live in Chicagoland, Illinois, and if you are an American friend, I would love to get you in contact with some homeless shelters and homeless organizations around me because we have so many people each year who die in the subzero temperatures because of lack of warm clothes! Not nearly as dedicated to anything as most people are and I would make one and not want to make 50 more.. so I would not be a good candidate to make them on my own. But if you can spend a couple for some shelters around here that would be so incredible.
Hello dear @DivingDucksCrochet , I am finally finished with this project. I crochet on and off mostly I taught myself how to crochet at 15 years old and right now I am 21. Sometimes I don't fully understand the lenghtes but you made it easier for me to understand by giving us centimeters. Thank you for explaining everyting plainly and giving me a grasp of why we are doing these steps in a easy manner. Sometime i get lost while doing a project because I do not understand which part we are making. This project took me totally 7 hours at my own pace. I made a lot of mistakes or was unhappy with my skill so i did it again and again. I am grateful that I finished this project in 2 weeks time I usually give up or get bored of the projects. For this project that you shared I am thankful
I am writing from Turkey. Thanks to you, I learned a new way to knit. I did not have a grandmother or anyone else around me who would knit for me. Thanks to you, I now know. Thank you.🥲🌸
I love this pattern, and I am just wondering - I am used a super bulky (6) Bernat and a 6, 7, 8 hook, aiming for 8 inches OR 20 cm. But get to 20 cm in length with only 20 sc stitches. Any advice before I go forward? love your stuff, and thanks for it.
Hi! I've just bought the material necessary for this project - I can't wait, thanks! I was wondering if it's possible to make the hood wider? I'm thinking that at the increase part, if I add 3 single crochets instead of 2?? This is my first project so apologies if this is obvious to others reading this :)
I think if you want to make it wider, you would need to add some stitches on the edge of the ribbing instead so the hood will be wider and not the neck part. But I havent tried it. I would love to hear the result when you are done 🤗
Perfect time for this. It’s becoming cold and wet in Canada. Fall time!! My fav time of year!! Hope you are well Vibeke! Take care! # Diving Ducks #1 fan lmao 😂
For the neck, if I make 20 cm I won't have 30 chains because 30 chains give me about 30 cm! So should the neck be made 20 cm high or 30 chains? Thank you
Hey, I’d definitely follow the 20 cm rather than chain amount. That way you’ll end up with the proper ratio, and your balaclava will be the same size as hers.
Did I understand correctly that you always double the first stitch at the beginning and at the end of the second part? If I have to crochet 14cm high, I won't get 33cm wide but more
@@jc0d67556 I am not a crochet pro at all so this might not be the best advice, but I am having the same issue. Instead of using single crochets I am using half double crochets (so that the stitches are taller, and it allows it to reach 14cm faster) you could also try double crochets which are a little bit taller than half double crochets. It was still getting a little bit too wide too fast so I am only doing the increase stitch at the end of each side, rather than doing the increase at the end, chaining, and doing another increase. So far it is working out much better
@@bigdelf thanks, I think that will help. I watched her other video on the brown one and at the hood after the first row she changes hook size. She also does a half double crochet so I think you figured it out!
@@jc0d67556 Yes, I add two stitches until I have about 27 cm in width, then just one more until I have 14 cm in height and 33 cm in width. Then crochet without increasing to a height of 30cm.
I did it the Same way she did first and my hood got way to long. I also did only one increase a the end of each row, not at the beginning and for my last two rows of increasing I used half double crochet because I still needed some height
In my experience that is normal, especially when you have tighter chains. If you continue through it should stop the curling. If it still curls when you have about 5 rows done then your chain may be too tight. When I first started making scarves and blankets I used to use a bigger hook to make the chains but as I kept going it got easier to get the chain tensioned right. Hope this helps!
if your first rows are curling ir means that you're doing it too tight, try making them a little bit loose and not pulling the yarn while you're doing single crochet
How do you wear it like in the beginning? It doesn't make sense because if i fold it inside the knit goes upwards not top to down like in the image on the maniquen 😢
@OriMoscovitz I'd recommend watching her other balaclava video because in the end she shows how to wear it and it looks like it's basically the same shape so it should also work for this one.
Once you finish you'll have the hood attached to the "neck piece". Fold the neck piece inside out (inwards into the hood) and stop when the neck peice is pretty much inside the hood then put it on. I dont know if that made sense or answered your question but I tried :)
I have a question I’m trying to make this hoodie and the first attempt I made like you see the ribbing like effect u have going a different direction then the hoodie how do I acquire that? Cuz I’m trying to have the turtle neck go wihh the the lines going down whilst the hoodie is waving

Hi 😊 The edges are supposed to be folded out. Not in. Try watching my other turtleneck video tutorial with the Brown one. In this video I show how to put it on. Hope it helps.
Hello everyone! As I’m doing the increases for 14 rounds my final measurement horizontally measures roughly 43.5 cm. I understand that the type of yarn can affect this, but I believe the one I am using is a bit smaller than the one used in the video. Is anyone else getting this result? I’m confident it will not affect the end product drastically, but I just wanted to check in with others (:
I don't understand... I did it once with another yarn and it turned great. I bough the honey bunny and it turns difficult to crochet. The yarn is not soft not good quality I slows down my crochet speed. I am very disappointed. I am going to start a new one with another yarn. Take care.
