As a Canadian who spent several years in Ireland over a decade ago and now lives in Vancouver, I can confirm the observations made of the Irish Canadians.
I laughed quite a bit. I work with some Irish lads in my trade and they are all pretty solid fellas. Some think they have superpowers by declaring "i'm irish" and that's ok.
As a Canadian who's never met an Irish person who thought they were Canadian, and as a Canadian who could barely make out a word of this - maybe because the volume is too low; maybe because I was watching the news on TV at the same time - I can assure you, you absolutely nailed it!
Actually about a decade ago, they were extensively bought by foreign students from hot climates. I used to see packs of little Indonesians all wearing $1000 Canada Goose parkas

Wow this hits close to home hahaha. My father's side of the family is Irish and we trace our ancestry directly back to the famine where my ancestor was pregnant with twins coming over to Canada. My dad was the most Canadian of Canadians watching hockey (Leafs fan) , CFL over NFL (never understood this), Watching the World Juniors, Watching Canada in the Olympics, HNIC, Murdoch Mysteries, Corner Gas, smoking metric tons of weed and drinking a shit ton of Canadian Alcohol. If my father was this generation and on social media he would have been Trudeau's personal propagandist for how great Canada was/is . The irony is that we are Irish Blackfoot Metis so he was embracing the culture and identity of our cultural colonizer and dominators. Okay but a Newfoundlander in Vancouver is stil further away from home than an Irish person in Newfoundland. From St. John's Newfoundland it's 5000 km to Vancouver, but only 3300 km to Dublin.
We have the same problem in the U.S. with Canadians who think there American. They will never live up to our standards sadly. Always will be 2nd or 3rd to us sadly. Breaks my heart when they die in 75 degree Fahrenheit from heat exhaustion.
And the more time any person spends in Vancouver, the more they will have dark thoughts about getting an inheritance - the only way anyone can afford to live there.

You should explore the other side of this coin... The Irish that have been living in Canada for ten plus years and have citizenship, have had kids here but refuse to admit they're Canadian now. They can be found at Donnellan's or Jonny Fox's socializing with other Irish Canadians who haven't managed to make a single friend without an Irish birth certificate or try any food that wasn't cooked exactly as me mum did when I was a kid. Deliberately discussing soccer for hours on end to repel any Canadian engagement. Taking wagers on whether or not this is a true pint. Or otherwise, longing to be back home except for the three weeks a year that they actually are.
My hope is the more Irish who think they are Canadians we can get in this country the closer we will come to getting rid of the monarchy who rule over us.
As a person that has never been in Canada or Ireland, nor met people from there, this is spot on.
