Very astute in putting the fast-mana cards at the top. There are plenty of cards in MH3 that have powerful, sometimes wild, effects, but you'll see that in any set - what truly pushes Modern in the direction of more powerful formats (legacy, etc) is having that access to more mana early in the game.
Always appreciate your takes on Creativity. Glimpse the Impossible is also a COMMON which is huge for Historic players.
I think Shifting Woodlands is definitely broken but gravehate (and field of ruin) keeps it in check. Also not every deck can just run it, you do need to build around it pretty aggressively. You want to be able to activate it on turn 3 or turn 4. Turn 7 delirium isn't good enough.

I will say I appreciate this video being shorter. I don't play modern and only have a passing interest in it, so it is nice to sort of just look at the top few cards instead of looking at the entire set.
do you feel like this new set is below MH2 in terms of broken cards and reshuffling the modern format? Looks like people are more excited by the reprint rather than new cards ...

Gab I think everybody is overestimating green flare. For it to work, how many green one drops do you need to put in the deck? I get that it's good with arboreal grazer (elvish pioneer only works in monogreen), and ok sometimes you can get 4 mana on turn 2 if you have grazer, flare, two lands, and a four drop to make it matter. Not that easy. With any other one drop, it gives you three mana on turn two, that is what any mana dork already does, without needing it AND the flare...Moreover, how much space are you going to have in the deck, in order to play 8 minimum 1 drop mana creatures, 4 flares...24 lands minumum if you want grazer to be good...that makes 36 cards "mana base"...if you want 4 mana on turn 2, phyrexian tower will do that without occupying a spell slot, but a land slot. Much better.
I have it high because I'm thinking of it's potential in Scapeshift which is already a strong deck but you might be right
Disagreed on Ugin's Labyrinth, at least in Modern, unless there's a major metagame shift.
I don't see current Tron lists delaying for a turn just so they can sometimes stick a Chalice on 1 or hide a wincon from Grief/TS when it can just as easily be 2-for-1d with Blood Moon, Merfolk or a random Field of Ruin.
I don't see Eldrazi Midrange extending their curve into 7 for some extra consistency when they can be wiped with Toxic Deluge or similar on T3. Even if they eventually get their card back, they won't get to cast it until their window has closed regardless.
I don't see Affinity exiling a Myr Enforcer or similar either; their whole game plan is to cast those cards, not use them as acceleration fuel.
I could see some new random brew going T1 Labyrinth into mana rock into T2 One Ring, but it seems incredibly easy to disrupt, while PhyTower allows you to do something similar with Necrodominance while disrupting their game plan with Grief. Even Flare of Cultivation gives you a faster and arguably more reliable T2 One Ring, so does it really justify spending $300+ on cards that make your mana base and entire game plan worse? I don't think so.
The eldrazia that’s 7 mana and could be a green blue land really helps the eldrazi package an agree for the most part except for that archetype… definitely gonna be great, I mean turn one chalice for 1 is gonna be amazing the. Turn two play temple an can cast thought knot lol come on that’s gonna be strong

Well it’s better than timeless hahahahaha but as a true boomer I feel ya but I still enjoy it lol I just miss when w/u control was the best control haha
