"Fortunes of the Air and Sea." as my late Father used to say. He was in the US Navy for 30 years as an Aircrewman Technician. He would tell me that every time he took off on a flight, that was a chance that he wouldn't come back. I was an aircraft mechanic for 20 years in the US Navy myself. It's a terrible thing when your unit, or squadron loses an aircraft, and you never forget.
They could of had a long and healthy and happy life and died of old age, if they would of just said no to the st ate and tell it to get bent, bumped the comm unists, and supported the an arch ists instead.
@Δυσνομία I think in 1939, they would have gotten shot by the NKVD. Russian was under Stalin at the time. No games were played by anyone. Some pilots will go flying no matter how bad the weather is.
@@WWII_METAL_DETECTING No, not at all. There is a chance every time you go up in an aircraft, go to sea in a boat, or ride a motorcycle you might not come back. Just facts of life. You may be safe 99% of the time, but then there's that 1 little thing that goes wrong, and you won't be coming home. I've often thought of those lost airmen, sailors, or soldiers left alone, only to perish without getting any help. It's just a fact of life. Me ? I used to fly around on Navy helicopters as a flight mechanic/technician, but I was more useful at home in a hangar fixing them, so others could fly. I do enjoy your videos and often watch them .
@ For the getting shot comment ? I think if a pilot refused to go out on a mission, I think he stood a good chance on being arrested, unless it was decided by higher up commanders that flying was impossible on that day. A mission is a mission.
My goodness. How big is that country? Lost from 1939 they missed the war, and the best part of their young lives. It is good they had a proper burial and a fine monument to say: 'We were here' and this is what happened to us all. Well done video to be sure, not an easy task to perform.
At last, their graves can rest with their fellow soldiers. Perhaps some relatives can praise and remember these lost soldiers with family honors. Thanks to the men who went and recovered this last story. Sempre Fi
Thank you for sharing this with us. Rest In Peace to the crew members involved. You are not forgotten for your contributions and sacrifices to the war effort.
Incredible find. Such a treasure. I also appreciate the research and your straight-forwardness when describing the crews experience, as the plane was torn to bits. Thank you, May you find many more. They are finally where they should be rest in peace.
If it didn't burn, not even a little, then it ran out of fuel. A pretty good guess would be it was burning more fuel due to icing. Thanks for posting these historic finds. This is incredibly interesting content.
How many thousands of tanks, armored personnel carriers and airplanes from both sides are waiting to be recovered and the deaths of their crews being recorded and their relatives being notified??
Thank you for sharing! Riip. My mothers first husband (not my father he was with Patton)lost his life on the terrible Ploesti raid in a B-24 out of Africa, awarded Cross of Honor.
Amazing story and bravery reflected by this crew and survivors. Great honor should be given to both the crew and the men who braved the weather to find this wreck. God bless the family members of these brave and deadicated young men.
impressive, the second world war was so complex that traces remain to testify to the most annihilating combat, a record that will never be forgotten by the whole world. me here from Brazil🙏🙏
That was an awesome find, and the end results with them given proper military burials were definitely befitting for those brave aviators, thanks to your finding them. And I'm sure their relatives were finally at peace with knowing their lives meant something to your country. I flew two combat tours in my day, so I offer a slow hand salute to those brave aviators. They are in God's hands, and are at peace thanks to you.
@PauloPereira-jj4jv you missed the apostrophe in "Guy's," a simple plural. But that's like road rage: somebody was wrong, but did you avoid a crash? If so, then please go about your day. There was improper grammar, but did you understand the message? If so, then please go about your day. Be happy you learned correct grammar, and shrug it off when you see that others didn't: you're the only one who will be annoyed.
Thank you, for finding them, and documenting their fate. While it is a very sad story tell, I believe their families are grateful for all you have done. Recovering these men from history, is a most honorable thing...
Every sold soldier from every country should be able to rest in peace and treated with respect, god bless you people for what your doing, family's need to know where there son's and daughters are, if at all possible.
The vastness of the wilderness might hide many secrets. It's very fortunate you found the lost crew and there can be some sort of memorial for them and their service.
Very well done and honoring the fallen was well deserved. The lone survivor had to of suffered at the loss of his fellow crewman. A broken collar bone is the most painful of bones to break.
Amazing story my Russian friends . I used to do aviation archaeology when i was younger . War is terrible , but it does bring us together in the end . Lets hope all the current conflicts and tensions created by governments come to an end soon , we just dont need this crap . Peace .
I am confused, in the beginning the narrator discusses the Soviet-Japanese front and then suddenly talks about the Finnish front. Where did this happen?
The designation of the aircraft (stars with black edging) appeared during the war with Japan. The plane was lost a little later, during the war with the Fins
You’ve done those fallen men a proud service, well done all those involved

Thank you Russian friends for undertaking the expedition to honour the fallen
Good on you for not using A.I. narrating. Your accient makes this video better !! Solid show ✌️.
A sad story of that one survivor of the crash.
very sad ending, all alone, but with God.
At last, their graves can rest with their fellow soldiers. Perhaps some relatives can praise and remember these lost soldiers with family honors. Thanks to the men who went and recovered this last story. Sempre Fi

Thank you for (1) such a descriptive summary - in English (2) the complete analysis of the remains that were found, to identify just one survivor.
Imagine what else lays hidden in remote forests around the world

Easy, man. Not "thousands". The vast majority was scrapped.

May they rest in peace, and God bless you for what you do..🙏

Brilliant work Guy's.. Another missing aircraft and it's brave crew found and documented.
"Its". Not "it's".

Thank you, for finding them, and documenting their fate. While it is a very sad story tell, I believe their families are grateful for all you have done. Recovering these men from history, is a most honorable thing...
Very sad! These warriors had an awful fate, and is double sad that the survivor died alone.
Many thanks for doing this very important work!

Great to have the narration 👍👍👍

Very well done and honoring the fallen was well deserved. The lone survivor had to of suffered at the loss of his fellow crewman. A broken collar bone is the most painful of bones to break.
A fascinating account. RIP Soviet Heroes! Aroha o Peace to all of Russia from Aotearoa
It's a good thing that they got home and are at rest.
Forgotten soldiers found, returned home and finally remembered at last.

Fine video !
what type of bomber?
Tupolev SB
Tupolev SB 2M
Was the aircraft recovered where it could be put on display in a museum?
Brave men who gave it all for their country, god bless them.
So sad, so many men lost their lives fighting in a war they did not cause. That man that lived, I can only imagine his fear as he knew he was doomed.
Amazing find wow
What a tragic story, may they rest in peace and always be remembered.
As with all wars the loss of young men!
What a haunting story.
Such a sad story. Rest In Peace, comrades.
Very cool find
Fire your A.I. voice. Just Pitiful. Great video though. Condolences to the families of the lost crew & hope that they are resting peacefully.
Кто-нибудь знает дальнейшую судьбу останков этого самолёта?
К нему подошла рубка леса и обнаружив самолёт дикари растащили его на металл. Только несколько деталей осталось у поисковиков. В том числе штурвал
@WWII_METAL_DETECTING ничего святого🤦
THANKS FROM AUSTRALIA

Finnish front
@ so what was the mention of the 39 Japanese war about? Why was it mentioned?
The designation of the aircraft (stars with black edging) appeared during the war with Japan. The plane was lost a little later, during the war with the Fins
@ thank you!
War is stupid.
Respect 🌷🌷🌷🌷

Slava sovjetskim letalcem .
No scavengers over in those parts huh
😮👍♥️🍀🍀🍀
They have these machines called helicopters. Why didn’t you fly out to the location the hunters gave you.
There is no place for a helicopter to land there.
I'd have to walk. So they went.
Rip crew 🙏🙏🙏
Very Sad😥🙏🇷🇺✌
Why didn't they just charter a helicopter?
War is so sad
Sad that they ever had to be in the bomber in the first place. Was a giant waist of life and potential. For egoistic nut jobs.
🙏🏻Lord help me I do need an adventure
