@@44nkk because you do what you can to get your best midfield 3 on the pitch together. Jude will give you an 8.5/10 playing higher. But he’ll give you a 7/10 playing further back. Foden will give you an 8/10 playing further forward, but he wouldn’t be able to play further back. No other midfielder is anywhere close to Foden. So you do what you can to make sure the two of them play in front of Rice.
Bellingham and Foden is England's generational talents, and they need to be playing in the middle of the park, so they both should be playing like an 8's and behind them Rice as a 6. Like that they can genuinely control the football matches against the opposition that they faced. Kane dropping deep, and on the wings the pace of Saka and Rashford. And there you go you have the Euros won.
Man on the left understands, Grealish on the left for ball retention and tracks back to help in defense, Foden at the 10 Jude at the 8 and rice at the 6…. That’s good ball knowledge you know
A Foden-Bellingham-Rice midfield wouldn’t be as unbalanced as some might think. Foden covers a lot of ground for a pressing team, and Bellingham has played an 8 until this season
My Team: Pickford Walker, Stones, Maguire, Trent Rice, Bellingham Saka, Foden, Rashford Kane. 4-2-3-1 Out of Possession 3-2-4-1 In possession, Walker slots in to a back 3, Trent comes into midfield with Rice, which will allow Bellingham to push up, Rice + Trent + Bellingham + Foden linking up, with Saka and Rashford running in behind, or as HP said, Foden could overlap Saka to give him the 3 options (shoot, play the ball inside to Bellingham, or reverse ball to Foden)
Great video. I’d start Trent RB, invert next to Rice to give England solidity at the back and quality build up while Foden and Jude are further forward. If we’re starting to get overrun, bring Jude back a little to support. Saka, Kane, Rashford up top, Rashford’s ability to burst could be a game changer.
Pickford Walker Maguire Stones Trent Rice Foden Jude Saka Kane Grealish In possession 3-2-4-1 Grealish over Rashford because Grealish provides some defensive cover, he can win fouls, hold width, put runners in behind (Foden/Jude), put in a cross, retain possession etc etc. Dirty work player who gets the job done and that’s what is needed. Trent inverting alongside Rice from the left, Trent will find a pass anywhere on the pitch no need to worry. This allows both of your most in form midfielders to be higher up the pitch (both Jude and Foden on 28 G/A for club this szn) and change the game. Foden and Saka linking up on the right would be a PROBLEM. The overlapping runs and cutbacks/crosses, opening up space for eachother to bang a shot in, foden has shown this season he has a rocket from outside the box, and saka can curl one in. Grealish on the left to feed balls into Kane/ Bellingham, Bellingham and Foden making runs in behind (Trent, Stones, Saka, Kane, Grealish, Rice) all to find balls in behind to these 2 as well. Keep in mind both Foden and Jude are in form of their life, 28 G/A. In defense I’m thinking a 442 or 451. Kane and Foden up top in a 442, no need to explain the danger Foden causes on the counter. First touch, the turns, through balls, dribbles he has it all. Kane is always going to be a problem. Grealish LM Saka RM and the rest is self explanatory for the 442. In the 451 it’s just everyone drops back, Grealish LM Saka RM, Rice Jude Foden in midfield. If you’ve watched city this season you know Foden can put in a defensive shift, just needs some physicality next to him and Jude/Rice legit is the best pairing possible for that. Foden and Jude maybe higher than everyone leading the press at times, but Foden when he gets the ball on the half turn is unstoppable. This is a team that will not only win the euros but dominate the tournament, it all relies on this midfield. Foden, Jude, Rice is the key
England have 6 or 7 world class players that have to start. Stones, Walker, Trent, Rice, Bellingham, Saka, Foden Kane. The best way to get them in without complicating things for southgate is 4-2-3-1 formation with Bellingham as SS and Trent playing next to Rice in midfield. Foden should dictate our attacking play so he should be getting a free role off the left and our LB and Declan Rice will work hard on that side to provide width. Simple.
It is impossible to have both Foden and Bellingham in midfield since they play the same position. It would not work when defending. Therefore, sacrificing Bellingham's freedom to make his runs inside the box is necessary. You need someone next to Rice who is comfortable on the ball, can carry it forward and is great at defending.
What Gareth will probably do: Hendo-Jude-Rice Saka-Kane-Foden What a person with any common sense SHOULD do Foden-Rice-Jude Saka-Kane-Gordon I also really hope by some miracle Shitegate takes Jamie Bynoe-Gittens. My XI - Pickford, Gomez, Stones, Maguire, Trent, Rice, Bellingham, Maddison, Foden, Kane and Saka. Trent inverts into the midfield and it becomes a back 3 of Gomez, Stones and Maguire to protect the defence. Rice rhetorical destroyer, Trent controller that lays passes to Saka on the others. Maddison and Bellingham are pressing machines. The midfield will be very hard to beat. Then Foden, Kane and Saka front 3. Not much too say, they’re the best front 3. In my formation, the defence is protected, midfield is very strong, and the best front 3 is on the pitch.
We can all agree, Jude and Declan is the central midfield partnering. As long as they remain injury-free! Foden in the 10. Madders to compliment the 10 as well Both players can operate on the flanks if necessary

Trents game was based on Liverpools midfield running like donkeys allowing him to play. Walker needs to play RB to keep it solid Trent needs to play in midfield to offer something both offensively and defensively and Foden needs to play in a position where he doesn't have to worry about his defensive duties. But it's opinions.
Foden is a midfielder and if you are a foden fan as much as you love KDB and B.silva when one of them leaves for good you will realise just how high foden’s ceiling is. as good as he is on the wing he’s wasted out there. Foden on the half turn is deadly probably the best in world football, you can’t catch him and his decision making to find a pass, beat a player or take a shot is just deadly. Southgate isn’t smart enough to see it that’s why he plays a double pivot foden needs to be thru the middle
I believe England's problem is the system and style of play, Southgate won't bring England anything. The FA should appoint a total football minded manager to make best use of those players as they are being used and flourishing into their best abilities in their club teams by Pep and Arteta, Man City and Arsenal play the best systematic, fun flowing football in the world. Xavi would be a great candidate to lead this national team to glory by forming a squad of Man City and Arsenal combine XI with the pep/arteta system. Pickford (or a better ball playing keeper) Walker, White, Stones, Shaw Rice, Jude, Foden Saka,Kane, Grealish/Rashy Where Stones or White joins Rice in midfield and allows Jude and Foden to play higher up as a 8,5 in a box midfield.
Saka has already cooked on the left for England. So why would we move him from his best position? No one played better for England than Saka over the last 2-3 years.
Foden is being played out of his best position though, under Southgate, so it makes no sense to hold his bad performances for England against him, when the coach sets him up to fail by playing him on the wing. Rather then as a 10.
We argubly have the best talents for once so why cant we take the game to them for once? We tried to protect in 2021. It flopped. 2022 we went out as well . Bellingham literally won bundesliga poty as a CM, tracking back doing recovery runs etc. Play foden as a 10.

Walker needs to play RB to keep it solid Trent needs to play in midfield to offer something both offensively and defensively and Foden needs to play in a position where he doesn't have to worry about his defensive duties. But it's opinions.
It's a tragedy if Phil doesn't start
Pickford (or a better ball playing keeper)
Walker, White, Stones, Shaw
Rice, Jude, Foden
Saka,Kane, Grealish/Rashy
Where Stones or White joins Rice in midfield and allows Jude and Foden to play higher up as a 8,5 in a box midfield.
6 Declan Rice 8 Jude Bellingham 10 Phil Foden
It has to be Bellingham Rice Foden I think. That's what I wanna see.
So you’re not actually fans, just glory supporting, nice! 👌
Mainoo,Rice & Bellingham
Pickford
Walker Stones Maguire Shaw
Rice Mainoo
Saka Bellingham Foden
Kane
we all know southgate is playing a 5 back 😂
Saka has already cooked on the left for England.
So why would we move him from his best position?
No one played better for England than Saka over the last 2-3 years.
Why would you shift England’s best player 2 years running for someone Saka benched at the last WC?? Play foden in the 10 or LW
If england wants to win you need to play a front 6 of kane foden saka mainoo bellingham rice. Foden is better upfront rather then midfield
Since the turn of the year rashford has been very good, just because he doesnt score you lot think he hasnt been
Bellingham has to be more attacking, why can’t Stones play alongside Rice and have Konsa, Guehi as the CB partnership or Gomez but he should be LB.
Foden is being played out of his best position though, under Southgate, so it makes no sense to hold his bad performances for England against him, when the coach sets him up to fail by playing him on the wing. Rather then as a 10.
Also cams bias towards foden is insane. How are u saying he’s not creating when the game is tight??? Cmon man. We get it u like foden
He's a United fan so how's it bias?
We argubly have the best talents for once so why cant we take the game to them for once? We tried to protect in 2021. It flopped. 2022 we went out as well . Bellingham literally won bundesliga poty as a CM, tracking back doing recovery runs etc. Play foden as a 10.
Harry why would you have Foden in the pivot
Foden has to start
You can tell who watches Jude and who doesn't. Play Jude further back lol. You know what give the keys to Foden since the prem fans only watch 1 league. Just dont be expecting Jude to save your team when shit hits the fan.
You dont accommodate foden by putting saka on the left. That's ridiculous
My xi is
Pickford
Walker Stones Maguire Shaw
Jude Rice and Kobie (he’s going but under Jude and Rice will have the exp next to guide him)
Saka Kane Rashford
Foden, Palmer and Grealish can all be quality sub impact players
Foden on the bench? That's a hard shot
Everyone talking about Jude sacrificing his game for the team when his upside is clear of fodens upside. Fodens should be the one to sacrifice for the team. If he wants to play , left wing.
😅 My passport Dutch but i feel African 🎉 i grew up in england and eat Rice with Banana, where im i from 😂
Bellingham Foden and rice would never work internationally
8:20 Southgate aint that guy man
The Toni Kroos comment is delusional
Talk about crack! Harry is moving mad !
rashford shouldn't play over pretty much any forward that has been selected, coming from a united fan
i can tell dude in the middle a liverpool fan man wants to play that scrub Hendo n Trent in midfield who can't defend n will get found out against a top country 👎
cams you’re about trent thing but instead put Kobbie in there
The guy in the middle stopped me completing this video, horrible takes.
Fred and HP have institutionalised by Southgate. WE HAVE THE BEST PLAYERS BAR FRANCE. Rice plays as a lone 6 with Havetz and ode. Same profiles as Jude & foden. I’m hearing names like hendo 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮
Fred don’t know ball man
Fred don't know ball loooool
Who is this guy putting Saka , 2nd best Rw in the world in the left to put that foden guy in rw , who not even is a winger!
Madnesss....stopped watching this video after hearing that bullshit opinion
LW:Rashford ST:Kane RW:Saka Midfield Trio: Foden Rice Jude LB:Tripper CB’s:Maguire & Stones RB: Walker (Saka needs the overlap that Walker offers and we need the defensive impact as the CB and midfield isn’t our strong point) GK:Pickford….this whole Saka on the left is nonsense and Trent invert in is nonsense, we have to allow the players to have a simple system as the team is playing an international tournament, they don’t have alot of time to train and develop as a team.
